Summary; The Beach house goes to the zoo
Log; They all have off from work; they have a delicious picnic lunch packed (Korra even helped!), and the weather is gorgeous. Today is the perfect day to go to the zoo.

[Korra hasn't been to the zoo in forever -- not since Hei took her child self, back before everything between them started. She remembers when he showed her the unicorns, and how enchanted her child-self had been with them.......for all of thirty seconds, before she got distracted by something else.]

Hey, Jinora, come check this out.

[She tugs the little girl towards the unicorns. She may not be able to see them anymore, but she bets the young airbender will love them.]

What is it?

[She follows along without waiting for an answer and looks at the animal habitat that Korra's pulling her towards. The sight of the unicorns in all of their majestic, silvery glory elicits a gasp of amazement.]

They're beautiful! What are they? Not buffalo yaks or dragons...

[anatural]

They're unicorns. [Korra leans against the fence. There's no point in trying to look herself, so instead she watches Jinora's excited face.] People say they can only be seen by [what's the best way to put this?] the pure of heart.

[bookbending]

Unicorns... [She watches them, absolutely entranced. So entranced, in fact, that it doesn't occur to her to ask Korra if she can see them.] I wish Ikki was here. She'd like them.

[In other words, Jinora likes them herself. Shiny white horses with sparkling horns are appealing to girls across universes.]

[lawbender]

[ Lin is tagging along behind. She finally makes her way up next to the pair of them, and she squints at the empty habitat. She would have thought Korra was kidding, but there really don't appear to be any animals in there. But there are hoofprints. ]

They must be difficult to catch.

[bookbending]

[Jinora glances up at Lin before returning her attention to the animals.]

Why would you want to catch one?

[anatural]

To put 'em in a place like this, I guess.

[bookbending]

Maybe they weren't caught. Maybe the City just built the walls around them.

[lawbender]

It's the same thing, in the end. [ But hey, no darkness today. We're having a fun day. She reads the little placard describing the animals. ] They almost sound like creatures you'd see at home, don't they? There are sea creatures with horns like that, or so I've heard.

[anatural]

I thought they looked surprisingly normal.

[lawbender]

You thought? [ Her tone is (perhaps deceptively) mild. ] Have you re-assessed your opinion?

[anatural]

Uh, no. I still do. [It's not like she can see them to reassess her opinion.]

[lawbender]

[ There's a hint of something odd about that statement, but Lin lets it pass. ]

I will never understand magic. [ Her tone shows distaste for the word. ] How could these creatures know how innocent a person is?

[anatural]

Dunno. [Korra shrugs. Dunno, dun care.]

[riceballfruit]

[Tohru had returned to where they left their outing supplies to get a bottle of water. Now she finally catches up with everyone, water bottle in hand.]

[She immediately brightens.]

Unicorns! I've never seen one before. They're so pretty!

[lawbender]

[ Lin smiles a little. She can't be surprised that Tohru can see them. ]

Are they from your world, Tohru? [ She at least recognized them immediately. ]

[riceballfruit]

Oh, no. They're in stories, and I've seen pictures drawn of them, but they're considered mythical in our world. You see some in movies! But they're just horses, everyone says.

I've never seen one until now.
