Raula (the name Ragetti had decided to adopt for as long as he was a woman) hiked up her parasol a little bit farther, tucking a stray hair over her ear. She smiled, one good eye squinting under the brilliance of the sun, and tilting her chin up she called after Joseph, "'Ave ye foun' a place, yet?"
The boy was excited, which Raula could understand, but she was balancing fancy shoes, a parasol and the basket, and walking in the sand was making movement rather difficult. Finally, with a grunted sigh she simply stopped and dropped the basket, hand fisting on her hip to wait for the boy to pick a spot, watching as he ran about with the checkered sheet.
