Left...now a right...left once more.

V reviewed his mental map of the webwork of tunnels as he raced from one darkened junction to another.
After a great deal of time wasted gathering information on the possible holding places for those taken this day, he had quickly ascertained the best possible area of the webworked Underground for Millenium to occupy.

He had been there only once before, as the area had been near-infested with Horrors, but the wrought iron bars on the neatly ordered rows of prison cells had left an impression, and he had avoided the area since.

Now knowing that Evey and Valerie both were trapped in such a place made him at once angry, and gulty.
Anger for the gall that creature that he simply could no longer refer to as 'Angel' had.

Here and there he was forced to pause, and allow groups of two and three sentries pass by whilst he stayed immobile cloaked in shadows.
In his current mood he would have been all too happy to gut the lot of them, but time was of the essence, and becoming mired in a meaningless battle would waste precious minutes.

The white bishop had taken both black king and queen, and now only a single knight moved across the board to reclaim pieces that meant so much more than a tactical advantage.
