Tick, tock, tick, tock…

Ever since he had arrived a few days ago, Yazoo had been wandering all around the city, trying to memorize every detail he could, and learn about anything he could through eavesdropping and observing others. He would admit to not having learned too much, but from what he was able to gather he had come to the conclusion that this place was not normal under any circumstances.

“At this rate, it’s going to take me forever to get back to that carousel,” Yazoo grumbled under his breath as weaved in and out of the crowd. “Geez, how big is this place, anyway?” He finally stopped and took a look around at his surroundings, seeing if there was anything around him that he recognized. His cat-like eyes went from spot to spot, and a small scowl appeared on his lips when he realized that he had been going around in circles, but for how long he wasn’t sure.

‘Oh, for the love of Mother, this is ridiculous.’ Yazoo turned in a circle where he was standing and finally noticed that there was a direction he had yet to go in. Rolling his eyes with a sigh of frustration, he headed off, once again weaving in and out of the mass of people around him. ‘This better be the way. Hang tight, Kadaj…’

Glancing around, he picked up his pace when he began to recognize buildings around him that he knew were situated close to the carousel and, looking out over the top of people’s heads, spotted it off in the distance. ‘Hm, bingo,’ Yazoo thought to himself with a smug grin, feeling pleased with himself that he had been able to find his way around without help. As he drew closer, he continued to keep a look out for a head of silver hair, wanting to be reunited with his brother as soon as possible.

‘Anything to shut that damn clock up…’

Kadaj waited near the carousel, pacing back and forth impatiently. He had initially been surprised to find his sword at his side, but now? Now, he was more comforted by it than anything else.

He vowed that once he found Yazoo, they would go buy phones somewhere - this lack of communication just wasn't going to work for him.

He was growing more agitated by that noise. It was everywhere, it was nowhere, it was in his mind, where the voice of his oldest 'brother' still seemed to linger.

Please hurry, Niisan. I am lonely.

Kadaj spun around to face Yazoo, slightly surprised. On seeing him, he smiled - a real smile, though small. It was a rare look. Only Yazoo and Loz had really ever seen it.

"Niisan!"

He didn't think he'd ever been so happy to see someone before. He wasn't sure how the three of them had gotten seperated, or where Loz was, or how to find that traitor....

But for now, at least he had one of his brothers.

Kadaj tilted his head to the side. His nervous movements were replaced with more fluid ones as he regained his composure.

"Well, you could have found me a little faster," he said, teasing back.

Kadaj caught onto what was bothering Yazoo almost immediately.

"I was hoping you knew where he was...." he said, trailing off a little.

So Loz wasn't here. That certainly dampened the mood a little, didn't it?

Kadaj's eyebrows knitted together briefly. The thought of missing Loz was upsetting. He was sure Yazoo shared that sentiment.

They would find him. He'd come. He had to.

Kadaj felt himself relax a little at his older brother's touch. It was nice, to not be alone. That dreadful sound had receeded a little. Though he was still a bit on edge, at least Yazoo's presence was comforting.

Kadaj looked at the carousel and made a face. "Yes. That's a good idea. The best one I've heard today, in fact."

Kadaj raised his visible eyebrow at Yazoo. He didn't comment on Loz anymore - he didn't want to think about it. He had to come, and that was that.

He pulled his head away from his brother, making a face. But he snaked one arm around Yazoo's waist, not wanting there to be any chance they'd be seperated.
