Log; ongoing

When; October 18th, 12:01am
Rating; R for promised violence, language, blood, guts, and gore~ (Well, maybe not the last two. We'll see~)
Characters; Tenten [[livejournal.com profile] weaponed], Neji [[livejournal.com profile] cagedbirdflying], Tayuya[[livejournal.com profile] violentflutist], Sakon/Ukon [[livejournal.com profile] seimon].
Summary; After exchanging lots of snarky comments and finally finding Chouji, Tenten gets it into her head that the only way to stop feeling so irritated is to go out and do something about it. For whatever reason, Neji actually agrees with her, and thus they hunt down the sound two responsible for hurting Chouji and Shikamaru and challenge them to a 'race'.
Log;

The City always had an irritating glow at night. Or maybe it was just that everything had been irritating her. Either way, her fingers fell to her kunai pouch, fingers ghosting over hidden metal and paper as she waited for the sound nins to show. The small breeze that had picked up did little to change her expression, a mixture of irritation and determination evident on her face.

Tenten glanced over at Neji, wondering if he regretted agreeing to come. She'd actually thought he'd been kidding, attempting some odd way of talking her out of it. But there he was, standing beside her. If it was only out of his duty as team leader, it didn't matter. She wished briefly that Lee could have been there too, but he seemed content to let them handle it.

The brunette managed to smile slightly, deft fingers pulling a kunai free. Building three was some small distance away... But not far enough. She wasn't a weapons master for nothing, and the metal blade flew true, hitting the concrete in front of the recently arrived sound. "They're right on time. I'm amazed."

Tayuya idly glanced down at the kunai that had landed at her feet, bending at the knees to pick it up, twirling it around one finger as she stood straight again beside her comrade.

"And you'll stay amazed, bitch." Tayuya said with a smirk, quite glad she had control over her lower class vocabulary once more. She took the kunai and clipped it beside the others at her thigh, still getting used to the feel of the pouch there. She'd never been one for close quarters combat, but her fights, and death, had shown her she needed more than just her metal flute, which hung from a string at her waist. Her curse seal, too, had been improved upon, pushing herself farther and farther than she'd been able to alive, since she didn't have to worry about dying now, from working too fast, too hard.

But it would all pay off now. She'd already fought Shikamaru, tied with the bastard, and here was an opportunity for more revenge upon Konoha. With her confident facial expression never wavering, she looked the Hyuuga up and down, muttering something that looked like 'inbred' to herself.

Leaning against the side of a building, Neji waited in silence.

Maybe I spoke too soon on this. He mused, as he eyed his teammate. Muscles taut, legs moving like coiled springs, ready to leap at the slightest moment, Tenten was prepared, heart, soul, mind and body. On her face was painted determination--with a cause that she believed in with every fiber of her being. A smirk painted itself across Neji's face, as he regarded her, her expressions rubbing off on Neji more than he would ever let on.

This has to be done. And by who better than these rookies' senpais? I will show them why I made jounin...and I will show our enemies why they would do quite well not to trifle with Konoha.

Closing his eyes, he felt his hands fold into a seal. Breathing a single word, he slammed his eyes back open, looking at the world with a greater sight.

Byakugan!

Ah, the byakugan. Tayuya's smirk never lifted. She'd read about this kekkei genkai, of course. Orochimaru-sama liked them learned, and educate them he did, rather extensively, especially on his enemies. And the Hyuuga clan was well known everywhere. With such a technique as the byakugan, they were practically unstoppable in close-quarters combat. Which is why her strategy for this fight included not letting him get close.

"Hey, fucker!" She called. "You hae six toes, too?" She was baiting, trying to get a rise. And even if she didn't get one, it was just something she did, insulting people. But her muscles were tight, ready to move if she needed to, hand itching to grab her flute.

The Byakugan couldn't see through illusions.
