INCOMPLETE; Chrno, Rosette (Aion, Joshua, Fiore?)
When; BACKDATED - Forget-Me-Not Curse Day
Rating; Probably not more than an R.
Characters; Chrno (
chrnologic), Rosette (
pratfalls), open to Aion (
zaigoukan), Fiore (
violet_overture) and Joshua (
apostleofhope) if they want to jump in later.
Summary; Rosette forgets Joshua. Chrno takes slight advantage of the situation, and gose to get Rosette back before she remembers what's going on. He offers to have Fiore come, too, so she can take care of Joshua.
Log;
Chrno couldn't find Fiore right away, and he didn't want to waste any time. He scribbled a note for her and rushed out, grabbing the pack full of Rosette's things on his way - he wanted her to have them.
He knew this was kind of dirty, just going in and taking her while she didn't remember. But he could only pray she'd understand. He didn't want her to be held prisoner. And Joshua wasn't the same as the sweet little boy they'd known before. He just wished Rosette would see it.
But first things first. He had to get her out of that mansion. He kept his anger in check, for now. He didn't want to alert Joshua like he had last time. The less he was noticed, the better.
He headed towards the mansion as fast as he could. The sooner the better. The sooner the better.
[[OOC: I'm hoping to NOT get into atime freeze fight with Joshua. But whether Chrno can get Rosette away from him or not are up to Rosette-mun and Joshua-mun. ^^;]]

Rosette didn't know how much longer she could keep on running. She'd always seen herself as a reasonably fit girl, even if she did sneak an occasional snack or two on the side, but this was absolutely ridiculous. There wasn't any training in the Order for escaping crazy people who tried to turn you into a lawn ornament.
"Can't we," she panted as she shouted over a shoulder, "just talk about this? I said I didn't want to fight you! But if you keep chasing me like this, I won't hold back!"
Tough talk, tough talk almost always worked, right? In the movies and stuff! Unfortunately, as she knew, this wasn't a movie and there weren't any break up ahead. This guy, it didn't look like he was going to stop for anyone, not until he finally froze her. As fun as being a statue seemed, however, she'd just have to pass.
"Chrno, you--!" She stopped herself before the words got too ugly and settled for scowling instead. When she saw him, she was going to let him have it, especially for letting her stay with this crazy guy. Really, did he not care about her well-being at all? That little.. !
Mm, no, she knew better.
There had to be another reason.

He knew he was taking advantage of her. He just hoped she'd forgive him.
He stopped just outside the doors to the mansion. It was eerie, how there wasn't any sound out here. If people were moving inside, you'd never hear them. It was unnerving.
He finally gathered enough courage and walked up to the doors. He reached for the handle, letting his fingers close around it....

But now she was running away from him like he was a monster. ...A monster...
His sister... She would never call him that!
Joshua's eyes snapped open wide with a furious glow for just a moment, and then he was gone, moving quickly enough to appear as nothing but a blur before stopping in front of the door, eyelids drooping suddenly with a lazy glaze as he eyed her.
And that was when he heard the doorknob turn, the distinct sound of metal brushing metal. He turned and yanked the door open, and reacted before he could even properly see who it was, his hand shooting out to grip the intruder by his collar. He knew who it was. Whenever Rosette tried to escape, he always appeared.
"You. Where did you put my real sister? This one is a fake."

"I didn't do anything with your sister!" he said. He didn't want to tell him that this Rosette was the real one, to let him know what was going on. That might ruin his plan to save her, and he didn't want to risk that.
He jerked back hard, hearing cloth rip. It wasn't important. He could find more clothes. There were some back at the Opera House.
"Rosette!" he called.

Rosette skidded to a clumsy halt before she plowed into Joshua and took a few careful steps back. There was no getting away at this rate, she thought, but it didn't mean she wasn't calculating a way or two in her head. Why was he so determined to catch her? Who was this guy? And where the heck was her gun?
"Chrno!"
The faintest hints of a smile tugged at her lips as she peered over Joshua's shoulder at him before her expression turned to one of playful, mild annoyance. Despite it, she couldn't hide the fact that she was more than just a little relieved. "You know, you're really slow, Chrno! I coulda died!"
But she was still smiling.

He shook his head, forcing his thoughts to clear again. "I ran as fast as I could!" he told her, returning her mock-annoyance. He thought about throwing her a gun that he had hidden in his coat, but with Joshua between them, it probably woudn't be the best course of action.
He didn't like this. It was like walking on eggshells. And he couldn't ignore the feeling in the back of his mind, the presence that he didn't want to acknowledge. He had to get Rosette out of here. And fast.

It wasn't as though he walked up to the doorway, so much as just seemed to appear there.
Aion stood behind Chrno -- an unignorable presence in the doorway, backlit by the fading rays of the sun that filter in through the open door. He seemed almost omnipresent.
He looked into the dim room at the scene before him. Chrno had clearly come for one thing only - to retrieve Rosette.
And after they'd had a deal...
He should have known Chrno wouldn't trust him to honor it. He'd come for Rosette on his own. What a mistake.
"I trust you brought Fiore with you, Chrno?"
A warning note sounded in Aion's voice.
"I told you to set a date, and I'd be there. What's wrong? You don't trust me?"
Aion smiled, both amused and angry all at once.
What a mistake Chrno had made.
