Summary; helping a new friend in need
Log;
Daniel stood at the borders where city met forest. Would the trees and creatures bend away from him as they did the other day? How would he know to find Nausicaa within the wild too? if he thought about her hard enough he thought he almost saw a path that might take them to her. But, he relied on the advice of a familiar friend as well. With Matthew along they wouldn't run into anything that would require a certain nightmare's assistance right?
"She's very kind, Matthew, I'm sure this should be no trouble at all," Daniel smiled to the raven.

True, Matthew was more suited to this job, since Cori wasn't much on diplomacy, but the raven felt a little vulnerable just now.
If something attacked, well, he'd be useless unless it was a snake or some kind of homicidal squirrel.
Still and all, he doubted this Nausicaa chick was out to hurt Daniel.
The Corinthian was just paranoid.

She sighed, looking at her hand, almost half of which was more or less degenerated and threatening to fall off, which was why she didn't move it too much - or any part of her body, for that matter.
She had been lucky enough to slowly be getting the hang of how to reach the resident animals, or else she'd surely have ended up a meal already. Still, it was as of yet nothing you could call "communication". And they all seemed so angry. It saddened the girl, who had never known a time when she was not connected to the living beings around her.
These days had had her thinking. The realization of not wanting to die was courtesy of the curse day itself; yes, there was still so much more to do in this world; something which Nausicaa had known, deep in her heart, even though she was not afraid of death and had once been ready to join the Ohmus when they became one with the forest. Just that they hadn't let her. ... how she missed them!
Teto. How she missed Teto. So very... oh, how should she survive in a world so cold? There had always been some warmth, somewhere, at home. Even if the cold had been frightening, sometimes. The Ohmus, the forest, her friends - they'd been her warmth. There was none of it in this place.
Nausicaa wondered if she would ever be able to go back to the time and place she belonged to.

Why did the fledgling Endless remember that? Interesting indeed. He rubbed his chin thoughtfully as they entered the forest. He could hear them, the animals, the trees, the cycle of communication between them and the ground. A two-story striped rabbit was still a creature of the wild, they all spoke the same language. Daniel was careful not to step on any flowers, even the mushrooms. He opened his mind, not knowing that his mind was always open.
"Do you... do you hear that, Matthew," asked the blonde, green eyes widened slightly, "I think it might be her, the sound of longing. Could you fly over the tops?"
no subject
"I don't hear anything..." He started, but the young prince then continued with a question.
" Sure, no problem." He responded, and immeadiately took flight.
Staying below the canopy, Matthew winged his way through the trees, but stayed careful enough to never lose Daniel's scent.
Sure enough, not far away was a smudge of blue, that with Matthew's sharp eyes became a girl on closer inspection.
He sooped down to hop into a landing, then peered up at her.
"*Awk*..Uh, hi."
He said...best to get others over the shock of a talking bird at the outset. Made things easier in the long run...

And indeed, her senses reached no further than the grass and air that was touching her, and even that was feeling kind of... faint.
Next, it occurred to her that the raven had spoken in human tongue, with a human-sounding voice. Wasn't that odd?
"Hello", she said, and smiled slightly. "You talk like a human does... what brings you here?"

"Eh, long story...suffice to say I used to be human."
He resettled his wings against his body; a slight habit that manifested itself when he was troubled by something.
The poor girl's condition definitely troubled him, since not too long ago he had been in the same boat.
"Well, My Lord came to talk to you, and he asked me to see if I could locate you out here.."
no subject
"Ah... and who might your Lord be? I hope he is kind. No one should confine a being of freedom like you."
Suddenly, Nausicaa found herself close to tears. Such was the incredible wonder of talking to the raven, being on the same level as one of the animal world again.
It resembled being alive again, after having been in some sort of undead state for... what was it now? Two weeks? Much too long for her liking, anyway.
Nausicaa lifted her head as her consciousness took note of another nearby presence, and the movement made her vision swim, but she focused a bit - soexhausting - and partly hidden, there was a man.
"Ah... is that him?"

"Hello, um... Nausicaa? It's me, Daniel," the boy offered a smile, anxious that his attempt might be a lost cause. He approached her slowly, then stooped to kneel on the grass so they might see eye to eye. "Thank you, Matthew," he nodded to the bird.

He'd been given more than one oppurtunity to move on, but even being trapped in this crazy city, he prefferred his life just as it was.
Daniel introduced himself, but Matt nodded in his bird's way to the young man beside him for good measure.
" Thats him." he clarified, and hopped closer to Daniel, fanning his tail feathers for better balance.

The man introduced himself as Daniel. ... Daniel? Oh, right.
"You're the young man I recently talked to. I am pleased to meet you. Unfortunately, I'm afraid I can't very well give you my hand."
The laugh that escaped her sounded just the slightest bit weak, and she glanced at her hand once again, with all its dark red, brown, and even black spots.
She let it sink to the ground, let it feel the grass. Soothing.

He explained to her as if it needed explaining. The dream prince also made sure that there was enough space for the raven to fan out his tail feathers and wings, yet still be within the circle of conversation. Although Nausicaa could not reach her hand out to shake Daniel acted as if the gesture had already been completed and done. Introductions set, he offered another smile.
"Oh no, please don't worry about that, Nausicaa. I'm glad that we finally have a chance to meet at all," he nodded then surveyed the area, "is this where you live?"
no subject
Poor girl...she didn't even seem to have the strength to stand, much less hold a conversation.
The raven sympathized, truly.
..hmm..
Maybe there was something he could do?
Being a raven, a carrion eater, decay didn't bother him too badly, so he hopped over closer to Nausicaa, and settled his wings in such a way that the black feathers brushed her hand.
Maybe it wasn't much, but if it helped even a tiny bit, that was better than nothing, right?

Carefully, she brushed her fingers against Matthew's wing to return the gesture.
Then she lifted her gaze again to Daniel in order to answer him.
"Yes, at least momentarily. I had not yet found a home within the city when I decided to spend some time here; how long, I had not planned, as I had no worries. There's just something about forests that attracts me greatly..."
The corners of her mouth were starting to feel heavy from smiling.

"Nausicaa, I can try to help you if you'll let me," the golden boy offered to her, but with a brief anxious look to the raven. He feared he might not be able to, and would have raised the girl's expectations for nothing.
"If I may..." Daniel started again, reaching his hands out to Nausicaa. He meant to touch the sides of her face gently, fingertips coursing with a power he did not fully understand. He could mend old wounds, injuries, the rot, but a result such as Matthew's depended only half on the dream prince's power. The other half relied solely on the girl's ability to believe, to believe herself deserving of the healing touch.
For that moment, the green in his eyes no longer belonged to Daniel Hall.
((OOC: so so sorry about the delay T-T))

The look simply said ' I dunno...But it's worth a shot?'
Hmm.
Hopping up closer to Nausicaa, the raven fanned his tail to steady himself, and stage whispered, " He's good at this kind of thing.
He fixed me right up when I was in your shoes..".
True this did all depend on her, but maybe the knowledge that Daniel had success with overcoming The City's curses would help Nausicaa believe she could be healed too?
As Daniel- (no..Dream) reached for the girl, Matthew couldn't help widening his eyes at that familiar light.

Instinctively, Nausicaa grabbed the man's wrist and held on to it, feeling a strong, yet gentle energy course through her, and did her best to welcome it within herself.
And suddenly, the thoughts she had nursed just a few days ago came back to her; in fact, she found herself flooded by her own love for life itself, for every living thing, and thus she actively wished to live, live and see so many more horrible and wonderful things.
The energy filled her entirely, and for a moment, there was nothing but that light.

The light faded to a glow as soon as its work was complete. Even if incomplete it had done everything in its power to heal part of Nausicaa's rot, was it enough to reverse the effects of what had set within her prior to their meeting?
