Log;

Motoko stood facing Cobray, her loose training garments and ponytail blowing gently in the wind. "Don't think that I'll go easy because you're a beginner. I fight with everything I have every time." She unsheathed a reverse blade katana, so that none of her attacks would injure her opponent. "You may begin when you're ready."

"That's okay. I wasn't planning on you going easy. As a matter of fact, I just may cheat a little, so keep on your toes," Cobray replied. He pulled his metal stick out of his pocket and held it straight out. It streched to become two feet long. He snapped it into his left hand. The machine cells replicated instantly, forming a long, broad blade about five feet in length. Lightning shot up and down the blade as the machine cells strained to form. He held the sword behind him.

"Here I come! Astranaguuun!!" Cobray yelled and he charged at Motoko.

"That's quite a blade." Motoko had fought against people wielding every weapon she could think of, so she wasn't worried at all. Instead she pulled a hand off her blade and shouted, "Zankuushou San!" From her hand she released a stream of Ki projectiles at Cobray.

"Not enough!" Cobray yelled. A red demonic symbol appeared in front of Cobray, and he continued to run through it. When Cobray stepped through, he vanished from sight. The projectiles tore through where Cobray was heading, hitting nothing.

"Clever! But you'll have to reappear sometime!" She closed her eyes and scanned her surroundings for any disturbance. As soon as he popped up again she would feel his Ki, and sense his movement. If she could block a surprise attack from her sister, this would be nothing.

Cobray, fifty feet in the air, dropped downwards toward Motoko. His sword, reaching a length of twenty feet long, was far to heavy for him to carry. But since he was just falling, all he had to do was aim it and use the sword to shield himself.

"Cobray's Anti-Supreme technique! Unyou no Tachi!" Cobray yelled, power surging through him.

In a flash, Motoko was out of sight. Though she didn't run away, as she usually would have, instead she had lept up to Cobray's blade and bounced of the side, launching herself straight up at her opponent. "Zankousen!" Motoko slashed her sword and launched another Ki attack at him. She followed the attack, so if he managed to deflect the attack, she would follow it up with a closer ranged attack.

Cobray twisted to use the flat of the blade to block the attack. Keeping the sword in place, Cobray continued to roll until he could put his feet on the other side of the blade.

"I may not be fast sensei, but years of fighting in space have given me near perfect reflexes and great midair manueverability," Cobray commented. Then Cobray kicked off the blade, sending it towards Motoko. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out another metal stick and extended the blade to a normal katana size. He slammed into the ground hard and rolled to his feet.

Surprised at this move, Motoko quickly freed one hand of the blade and grabbed onto the one falling towards her. She managed to prevent it from crashing into her, and instead pushed off of it to descend as well. She rolled on the ground as well to avoid injury, but the fall knocked the wind out of her for a second.

"A trick like that will only work once. You won't hit me like that!" This time Motoko initiated the attack, running towards Cobray in a zigzag pattern to confuse his eyes.

Come on sensei. Every enemy in the universe always attacks and retreats with a pattern like that," Cobray taunted. He was suddenly glad he didn't give up all his Z.O. Kunai to Tayuya. Cobray guessed that cheating would be to bad so he pulled one of the pellets out of his pocket and threw it to the left side of Motoko's zigzag pattern. It formed a kunai in midair and slashed through the air current.

"React to this!" Cobray yelled, swiping his sword from right to left, hoping to force Motoko to block his swing.

As the kunai reached Motoko in her path, she reached out and spun it around her finger, taking control of it and throwing it back at Cobray. "Fuujinranbu!" The kunai seemed to be glowing with her Ki, and moving faster than before. She swung a vertical swing that would hit his blade, rendering him defenseless from the katana. "Zanganken!" she shouted, adding her Ki into this attack as well, hoping to shatter his blade with the attack she used to destroy boulders.

Cobray grimaced. It was in his plan to break his own blade, but not like this! But when it came to this, plans really didn't matter. His sword shattered, the machine cells evaporating in midair. With a kunai heading his way along with an incoming slash, Cobray was forced to reveal his trump card far to early. He'd been watching Motoko. Of course he had. If he wanted to beat her, he had to find every weakness. But she was tough and resilient. So Cobray did the only thing he could do. He tripped, on purpose, and fell forward into her arms.

Motoko dropped her blade, taken completely by surprise. She fell back, hitting the ground and laying flat against it. She stared up at him blushing, struggling to speak, but not finding any words. Her heart began to beat faster, and her breath became short.

"This isn't working right!" Cobray thought frantically to himself, "She fell backwards, and I'm still falling forwards." Cobray could hear Astranagun laughing in the back of his mind, not wanting to help Cobray just to see the outcome of this situation. Cobray tried to balance on one toe, but he failed. He continued his fall, until he landed face first into her stomach.

"Are you...alright?" she managed. She stared down her chest towards him, hoping he hadn't injured himself with that maneuver, or fall, or whatever had happened.

"Mmmmph," Cobray replied, his voice muffled from Motoko's clothing.

"W-what?" She lay her head back down and stared at the sky, hoping he wouldn't see her bright red face.

Cobray rolled over and took a deep breath. "C-Can you explain to me why I'm stuttering and why I have this warm feeling throughout my face?" Cobray asked, not really understanding.

Motoko turned her head to face the opposite direction. "Maybe...it's because you fell..." Why is it that she always seemed to get herself into situations like this? Or maybe it was just because men were all so clumsy. Either way, the match was over and she needed a good bath in the hot spring to clear her head.

"Your skill has greatly improved since we started." She felt the heat in her face slowly leaving. Hopefully she could make it back to the temple without anything else happening that would cause her to lose her composure.

"No, I've fallen before. It's just this seems like a typical scene from romance style story. I am wondering if this is embaressment or true love." Cobray said. He stood up and offered Motoko his hand to help her up.

He had to say it. No, nothing like that could happen to her. Motoko calmed herself down again before accepting his hand. She picked up her blade as she stood as well, sheathing it. Trying to ignore the subject, she continued, "if we continue training you may be able to take on other skilled residents here. Maybe Greed would be up to a match."

"You didn't answer my question, or did I not phrase it properly? Anyways, fighting Greed would be pointless. His carbon based body structure would make it impossible to hurt him with a blade. Therefore there would be nothing to learn from the fighting style he probably uses, which is to take every hit possible and enjoy the pain," Cobray said. His eyes were still questioning from the previous part of his statement.

"I don't know anything about that..." She turned to head back to the temple, walking with a quick pace, obviously avoiding the question.

"Before you leave...I...uhhh...would just like you to know that you are still playing out the typical romance scene. If this continues like the stories, we would most likely end up as...a...well...couple," Cobray said, looking away.

She stopped in her tracks for a second, then turned her head so he could hear her speak. "What do you know..." she muttered, then quickened her pace even more and rushed away from the sparring ground.
