Log;

Deep blue eyes shone at the sight of the moon through her window. Alessa used to always hate the night, faced with nothing but nightmares and the twisted imaginings of an equally twisted little girl. But now that she was healed, she loved to stare at the moon. Some nights she would just sit and stare out her window as if in a trance until Henry would realize that she hadn't moved from her spot in hours and had to drag her to bed to get her sleep. Not a day went by that Alessa took the sight of the moon for granted. She loved it so. She hoped her daughter would love the moon too...whenever her daughter came.

Alessa was in no hurry to bear children. She knew it was bound to happen, that it would come to pass, but it would happen when it happened. She would let fate take its course. It had a funny way of doing that. Just as it had brought all of them together.

She reached out to touch the glass of her window, the cool glass slightly relieving to her fingers. She stepped back, and, on a whim, brought her hands together as if clasped in prayer, her eyes never leaving the moon. If I could worship anything else...I would worship the moon, she thought, willing her power to flow through her fingers. With a slight effort, a small black vine creeped around her right wrist, and as she drew her hands away, a small dark blue flower with silvered tips sat gently in the palm of her hand. Creating beauty was something Alessa found herself doing whenever she could. For so long, she had only created pain and agony, distorting what was there. Creating beauty helped her feel as if she were not entirely a monster. It made her feel better.

Alessa slowly moved to sit in the window seat, the flower cradled in her hand.
