Log;

Almost four hundred pounds of cyborg puppeteer was flung haphazardly into the brick wall, through the brick wall. She bounced along, meat and metal, every part of her throbbing with a maddening pain no other puppeteer could bear to fathom. Her fur was matted, marked by sweat and blood. Something felt dislocated. Her right foreleg was numbing. Despite the assurances of the advanced, top-of-the-line musculature melding that prevented most primitive projectile weapons from puncturing her vitals, she still could be mangled, like now. She wasn't sure how long she could last. Maybe she deserved this, could have foreseen this; she was stupid and headstrong enough to fight the beast bare hoofed. She should have brought a blade, a small projectile weapon, spent her free time trying to construct a basic harmful laser, something. Instead she had launched herself at the thing, over the gaping maw, between the two withered, leathery necks, trying to tear into its wrinkled back flesh with her clawed hooves. There was her enhanced strength, and then there was the creature's reflexes, how what was once its back leg was held like an Earth scorpion's. That was careless.

Unfertilized gametes still leaked out of the hole in her belly. It had tried to impregnate her, pumping her gut full of the slime while the other one that would assuredly turn her into a vessel of infection was held off with both sets of teeth. The other two prongs had been trying to tear her open. She got away then and had been running ever since. There was fear, and then there was the basic Fear that had gripped her people ever so tightly. Never had she been so scared for her (second) life.

It caught her. She fought back, but it was a futile attempt: It was insanely strong. Unbelievably strong. No creature could be that strong.

The sickening scent of ill puppeteer musk came closer. She could almost feel its horrid, humid breaths as it homed in with a slow, agonizing sureness; it knew where she was. Her remaining two legs uselessly swung against the crumbles and tile; she could not crouch away, her legs weren't built for it. A cornered herd beast, Guardian threw both heads back and gave a cry of alarm, an ancient noise of pained, panicked trumpets that carried a message that she begged was universal.

An oily voice. Low notes slithered through the air in her native tongue: "Yes... Sing for the humans you love to despise. They shall come to the beautiful sight of me crushing your proud Guardian bones. Let your demise mark my departure from your wretched, terrified race.

"Die in terror, disposable little Warrior."

The great shape could be seen crawling. Those teeth could be heard, clacking with an ill glee anticipating her battered body. Maybe it flickered gold. Golden tentacles. Many golden tentacles reaching for her, promising a second death.

"What do you WANT?" Mulder was heading for the square, pulling his gun, even though he already knew he was low on bullets and it was pretty pointless against something this big anyway.

He came relatively close and then just...gawked.
He'd seen some weird shit in his day, but this took the cake.

to The Host

Kantarou had known instinctively when and where The Host had arrived and once within sight, paid reverence to the creature with a low bow.

Behind him, several monsters he had enlisted from the underground, three in total, including Heartless-kun, followed him in tow.

"....You have come," he whispered with awe as he took in all that was the great Host.

After Luke's warning, Jan and the assorted non-humans armed themselves and gathered at the Subway's Entrance, looking outside at the City....waiting for the slimey horde to arrive.

It did, but by another route.

A muffled sonic boom in the Men's Room and seconds later the door exploded off it's hinges by the tidal wave force of slugs.

Ran suddenly appeared next to Jan, her blade unsheathed and in her hands. She didn't speak, but closed her eyes and allowed her reiatsu to flare along her consciousness, pulling her power to her call.

Finally, she glanced over at Jan. "Sorry I been a bitch lately. Where the hell are..."

She was cut off by a loud noise.

Greed had seen about enough. This thing had been pissing him off for too long as it is. He donned his second skin and bounded to the town center, drawn by the scent of the beast.

He would show this upstart not to face a homunculus.

"Yo, amigo. Back away from that morsel. It's time for the "

In a flash, he was already in the air, trying to come down on the beast's skull.

Mithos, no, Yggdrasill broke into a predatory grin when he saw the creature down below, rampaging in the square. He'd had thoughts, doubts about joining the creature's cause (and how he had the thought of doing so, he couldn't have been able to explain to anyone), but seeing the massive, positively powerful being, Yggdrasill's doubts all but disappeared. This thing was powerful, worthy of his respect, and if it went against him, he was going to destroy it anyway. Just like everyone else.

Yes. He was only biding his time. Later, when all the filthy things were wiped out, destroyed and the city, the world was cleansed, he would deal with the thing's kind. For now, he was going to protect it and destroy all who stood before his path.

Kantarou smiled and regarded all around him. "We must strive for oneness, for together, as one, we'll have more power than anything else... power to overcome our opponents... power... to protect the ones we love."

He swept his eyes across the square, searching for those who were not one with them. "Destroy them all. Those who are weak. Those who are not one with us. Destroy them. They wish to hurt us. To subdue us. But we are not weak."

For a moment, everyone stood there gaping in shock at getting unexpectantly back-doored.

The Conducter snapped-out of it first, "BLAST AND RUN!!"

Demons let loose with fire spells, giving the others a chance for escape. Jan grabbed Ran by the sleeve, haulin both their asses the fuck out of there.

To Kan-chan

"So, you are here." Her words were icy cold. Motoko stood, facing Kantarou, sword drawn. "You say you wish to protect Fuyu, and so to find power you cling to this...filth? I will not forgive you for this. I'll give you one chance! Come to your senses, for Fuyu's sake!" She slid into her stance, waiting for his reply.

Mulder backed off a little way, unloading his gun into the oncoming monster as he did so.

This did NOT look good.

Her curiosity sparked by all the noise, Larxene entered the square. The scene there startled even her. That... giraffey horse alien thing- Guardian, right?- was dying, whatever, she'd seen plenty of things die- the apparition with all the tentacles drew all her attention. Tentacles, two heads, lots of teeth- the grotesque form was like nothing she'd ever seen.

Hmm. So is this that Host they were talking about, then? Larxene watched intently from the shadow of a building. She'd love (in an apathetic, heartless sort of way) to get her revenge for those damn slugs and all, but it would be stupid to run in without knowing what she was up against.

It looked like this thing might be more than even she could handle, though, even if she could still call lesser Nobodies to her side. After all, if this Host could throw Guardian around like she were light as feathers...

Holly was on her way to the Underground, eyes scanning for a good entrance point when something else caught her eye. It wasn't below ground anymore, that much was for certain. She didn't understand how she could have missed it from the rooftop earlier.

Gritting her teeth, the elf crossed her arms over her chest for speed as she dove towards the creature, thoughts already racing through a rough plan, magic buzzing and laser at her hip.

"Hey, Mud Worm!" she shouted, just as she stop dead in the air to let loose her first shots. "Play time's over!"

Kantarou eyed the woman tauntingly, not the least fazed by the threat she had thrown him. "I am in my senses! This... we must all be one to gain power! To protect each other!" he cried before, fuda in hand, pointing towards her. "Heartless-kun, Yuko-chan, Ryuko-chan! Show her our power! Given them all you've got... Thunder, Water and Fire!"

As his pets nodded in confirmation to him, he grinned mischievously at the woman. "Don't make me use my powers on you."

Yggdrasill fortunately spotted the woman shortly before she could let loose any of her shots and he cast a quick barrage of lighting spikes at her, hoping to wound and not kill. It would not be good to kill someone so quickly.

He laughed.

"Why, hello, filthy human. Wings on your lowly kind? How disgraceful."

Ran picked up the pace, following him closely, sword loose in her grasp beside her. Once a good dsitance away, she saw motion out of the corner of her eye; a woman, neck at an unnatural angle and her limbs held loosely. The woman was making a beeline for them.

"Oh, hell no. Unare, Haineko!"

The blade disolved, sending a cloud of razor sharp ash to its target. It didn't take long for the woman to be reduced to a bloody mass on the ground.

"Next," she called loudly, daring the monsters.

"If this is how it must be. I will try not to hurt you, for Fuyu's sake." She closed her eyes for a second, then sprinted forward. When she neared Kantarou, she swung her blade, releasing a large ki attack, shouting, "Zanmaken Ni no Tachi!"

Faye hadn't really been looking for a gunfight, but at this point she was so irritated that she was liable to blow the head off of anything that so much as gave her a funny look. With Ed running around like her regular wild child self, Faye's nerves were frazzled enough.

A walk had seemed like such a lovely idea, too. She hadn't expected Mister Eyeball to be out and about, though, and that put a little damper on her plans. But that didn't matter. She'd taken to carrying the Glock around with her fully loaded. This could be fun, she thought.

She fired three shots in the direction of the creature, not bothering to wait and see if she hit her mark before leaving her spot.

Holly twisted in the air, the spikes almost clipping her wings. She swore under her breath, cursing herself for letting her guard down this soon into the fight. Dropping a few feet to avoid the projectile, she shot again, Neutrino bolts burning through the air before she rose again to her opponent's eye level.

"Human?" she scoffed. "I am an elf. Back off; I've got better things to do than to deal with you."

"I'm pretty sure she's not human, dumbass," Larxene called. Now that other people were showing up, she might as well take a chance coming out of hiding.
