Log;

Gaara stands in the center of the floor in the cathedral, contemplating his existence, and the meaning of his time in this strange place. How to get back to Temari? To the beautiful smells of his Suna? What if they needed him, and he was here? The worry sets in, and Gaara breaks out into a cold sweat. Worry was so very bothersome. So was fear. Yes. Gaara feared for his country.
Pandora wondered this city, alone and truth be told somewhat afraid. She spotted a cathedral and brightened up a bit. She'd always loved them, their beauty and foreboding seemed appropriate for someone like her. She entered, lost in her own thoughts not watching as she walked, making no sound. She bumbed into a young man standing in the center. "Excuse me" she said, her voice low, almost a whisper.
Gaara's sand barrier rises and blocks Pandora from touching him. He looks deep into her eyes with his pupil-less green ones, before closing them, making his eyes look like two black holes. "You should be more careful." Gaara did not do well with unexpected attacks.
"I should, that I should. I'm terribly sorry." Pandora said. She was a little annoyed with the sand barrier and put her hand up to it to feel it. "What is this for?" she asked.
The sand dissipates quickly and the grains seep back into the large gourd strapped onto Gaara's back. He turns away from the woman. "Protection," he says simply. He sniffs the air...this woman smelled odd.
"Protection from what young one? Do you assume everyone is out to get you?" Pandora asked innocently moving a bit closer to him.
Gaara moves away, and eyes the woman warily, with warning. "There are many that are." What strange, inhuman odor did this woman exude?
"Not everyone in the world is evil little one. Not everyone." She smiled slightly. "Don't be afriad of me."
Smiles. According to Temari, these were alright. He does not smile back, but does not move away again, either. "I am not afraid of you."
"Then why did you move away like that? Only ones who are afraid move away. I am not one to be feared, I'm just a woman after all." She said with a slight chuckle.
"I moved because it is strange...for people to come so close to me." Gaara looks off into the distance. Mostly, people tried to stay as far away from him as possible. Proximity to another person was new and unusual.
"Why is that? Do people where you come from not touch?" Pandora asked tilting her head slightly. It was odd to see a boy of his age not want touch, especially from someone that looked the way Pandora did.
"They touch, but they do not touch me." Mostly because Gaara had a nasty history for killing people who got that close. "...are you not afraid of me?"
Pandora couldn't help herself, she let out a soft laugh. "Why by the gods would I be afraid of you?" She said, it wasn't in a mocking tone, but simply stated as a fact. Pandora wasn't afraid of much of anything.
Usually people could sense his power. Perhaps this woman was just stupid. Then again...the strange scent even woke Shukaku's curiousity. Ignoring her question, he moves on. "You do not have the smell of a human."
Pandora was slightly taken aback by his bluntness and this statement. "I don't? Then what do I smell of?" She asked carefully moving slightly closer.
Neither Gaara nor Shukaku know. "I have never smelled anything quite like this before."
"I wonder, is it a nice smell?" Pandora asked grinning. She moved in to where she was close enough to touch him. She didn't reach out though as she feared she might startle him again.
Gaara turns to look at her with one eye. "It is neither pleasant nor unpleasant." Nothing smelled as wonderful as his sister.
Pandora frowned a little, "So you don't like it?" She asked sounding a bit sad. She was a tad offended by his indifference to her.
"I neither like it nor dislike it." He looks her up and down. "Do you enjoy being this close?"
She looked at him, noticing how he was looking her over. "I do enjoy being close to people." Pandora said. "Do you not like it?"
Gaara thinks about her question. "I do not know whether or not I like it."
"How can you not know? You either like it or don't" She reached her hand out to touch him.
Gaara hadn't had enough experience with close proximity to form an opinion on it. He watches her hand carefully, and lets it graze across his arm. Hm. Soft, like Temari's touches. "Hn," he lets out.
She smiled gently and leaned in closer, her fangs comming out slightly. She bent down towards his neck.
Gaara backs away. "What are you trying to do?" Okay...that was even closer than Temari tried to get.
She pulled back her fangs going back in. "Nothing, just having a little fun. You are so tense young one. Most ones your age are much less tense." She said frowning a little.
Gaara senses something he knows very well. Hunger. His eyes narrow. "What sort of fun is this?" Was she going to try to eat him?
"The kind that people tend to have with eachother dear. Do you not know of it? I've been lonely for a verry long time. I'm not going to hurt you..."She said gently.
"I have no idea what you are talking about. What sort of fun do people tend to have with each other?" Gaara crosses his arms. Thank god he came prepared, in case something happened.
"You are a strange young boy." Pandora tilted her head. This was far too much trouble for one meal she thought. And he didn't even look that appetizing.
Gaara turns his back to her, angered. "Your hunger betrays you."
"My hunger? What are you talking about young one?" Pandora said frowning.
Had he mistaken it for something else? No. Shukaku would not lead him to death, even if he'd tried to before. "Play the fool, if you wish."
"The fool? Well that is offensive! I am no fool child." She reared back and pounced onto him, her fangs portruding out of her mouth. She was strong, she was faster than the human eye could see, and she was now angry.
Speed! Too fast for the sand barrier to get a proper hold! He's knocked to the ground, held steadfast. First defense had failed. "I am not food! Do not eat me!" It is a rare thing for him to fear, but he certainly feared being eaten by this strange, non-human thing. What if it was another bijuu?
She sunk her teeth into the strange boys neck, grinning inside.
Gaara rips his head to the side, and the piece of "neck" caught in the vampire's mouth returns to what it truly is, another barrier of sand covering and protecting his skin. The sand quickly replaces itself, while sand from behind Gaara forms a structure as hard as a brick wall, slamming into Pandora.
She falls backwards startled, spitting out sand. The structure didn't do much damage, she'd been hit with things harder than brick walls, she'd almost been burned alive once after all. She pulled back, furious at this. He wasn't human! "What are you?!"She shrieked angrily.
Oh. Gaara was indeed a human. But now he was an angry human. An angry human housing an even angrier demon. He leans forward, clutching his head tightly. "Yes...kill..." he whispers to himself, and his hand begins to transform into something larger...tannish and purple...a large demon claw.
"What the hell?" Pandora was now pissed off. She wasn't sure what was going on, this was new to her, she'd never encontered something like this. She tensed her muscles up and ran at him.
Gaara is moving much faster than he was before. He swings the large claw, and at the same time, a long tail sprouts from his behind. KILL, the demon cried to him. Gaara only tried to kill when necessary. It was definitely necessary...but he was going out of control! No! He'd called Shukaku too quickly! Moving away from Pandora, he forces the demon back into its place, and performs his strongest defense jutsu. A large, raccoon shaped rock solid fortress rises from the sand, engulfing Gaara and protecting him.
She stopped just before slamming into the fortress. Angrily she cried out, "You are truly a pathetic creature to hide behind such defenses like that. I have no patience for this." She turned and began to walk off, it wasn't worth getting herself hurt for some meal.
Meanwhile, within the fortress, Gaara is having a nervous breakdown. Someone had just tried to eat him! The assassins were here! And everywhere! He could trust no one. Especially the blood drinkers...
Something inside of Pandora moved a bit. She turned back. "You can come out now, I'm not going to try anything again." She didn't know what urged her to say this but she was somewhat curious now to find out what exactly this human was.
Gaara is hyperventilating. Had to kill the thing before it could kill him. Spikes swiftly leave the fortress and head right in Pandora's direction. Kill kill kill kill.
Pandora dodged hte spikes, waving in between them. "Calm down child!" She shouted.
Gaara covers his ears, as the spikes continue to move about in all directions. Shukaku laughed at his fear, laughed at his plight. The damned demon.
Pandora continued to dodge the spikes, this was beging to annoy her. She made her way towards the boy getting closer and closer. "Child, I'm not going to attack you again unless you continue this!" She said.
Gaara quickly performs another jutsu, and spikes begin to rise from the ground as well. He had to at least trap her before she could get too close. Who knew what sort of strange powers she had?
She jumped up into the air over the spikes landing gracefully down. She was getting extremly annoyed with this
Gaara cannot hear her. He listens carefully...nothing? The spikes slowly suck back into the fortress, but the giant barrier remains still. Gaara had to be a thousand percent sure she was gone before he let his precious body, his precious flesh out with all the assassins.
She stood, perfectly still, not making a move. She waited patiently for him to move the barrier down. She moved silently behind a pillar hidden from his view should he come out.
Gaara sends a sand eye to look around for him. He catches a glimpse of something...and quickly sends out more spikes to grab at it. Oh. Just a mouse. Well. The sand grabs it anyway, and carries it inside. He could have that for lunch. If he lived through the vampire's lunch, that is.
She waited...patient, slow, quite. She didn't mind waiting, she was used to it.
The sand barrier slowly...very slowly disappears back into the gourd, plenty of sand still remaining as a barrier around Gaara's skin. He edges toward the door quietly, sniffing. She couldn't have given up so easily.
Pandora crept up behind him, silently and slowly making no sound at all. She jumped on to him. "Now, I'm not going to hurt you so stop this nonsense!" she said sternly.
The sand barrier prevents her from landing, and pushes her away. Gaara forms three sand kunai and throws them at her, determined to get rid of her.
She dodged, one, two, and three was a hit. It slamed right into her arm. She fell down to her knees, furious.
Good. Time to end this. Forming a sand spike over his hand, he aims for a hit through her skull. They never came back when that happened.
She looked at him, fierceness in her eyes. She jumped up and pounced on him again. Growing tired of all of this
As she came down to pounce on him, he aimed his spike upward, hoping to catch her before she hurt him. His sand barrier moved upward, just in case that form of action failed him.
The spike drove into her arm, as she fell down to the ground. She cried, not in pain, but in anger. "What is wrong with you child?!" She cried.
"You tried to eat me. Now you must die." A spike forms in his other hand, and he aims better this time, again, for her skull.
The spike went through her skull. She doubled back and fell to the ground backwards.
Gaara breathes heavily. Too much...chakra used. If another blood drinker were to attack him on the way home...he'd only have the sand barrier left. He stumbles out of the cathedral. Had to hide...who knew there could be such strong beings here?
She raised herself up slowly. Shaking her head as it healed up. That just really pissed her off. She ran after him, grabbing him by the arm and pushing him up against a nearby wall
The sand barrier saves Gaara's neck once more, and he slithers away from her, using the sand to lift him high off the ground and carry him away. No death...she would be after him later. What was he supposed to do...if he couldn't kill...?
"I'm sorry I attacked you young one. I was hungry and I thought you were just another motral seeking to get "saved" at the cathedral. I'm sorry for that. I know better now. Can we please stop this foolishness?" She asked annoyed with all of this.
Gaara is too busy speeding away as fast as the sand will take him. He misses her words. Probably evil, luring words so she could take a hold of him and eat him.
She rolled her eyes, and sighed as the boy speed away.
