Summary; V is asked again to choose between vengeance and Evey
Log;
She was beautiful when she slept.
Even ill, Evey was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen...
Valerie was with her partner, Ruth in thier bedroom, and he had been utterly silent when entering the small flat.
A memory of long ago ( it seemed), of another lifetime..
" You scared me!...I didn't hear you"
"No one ever does".
She had once asked him how he managed to walk to quietly in boots, and he had teasingly replied ' With great practice'.
The happy memories..so many of them made after she had sought him out across realities, and time..so many of them here.
As much as he thanked fate for every day they were allowed together, he did not want her to be trapped here.
Trapped...and all because of that thing.
He had sworn to destory it...sworn to see Rosiel likewise destroyed, should it be proven Evey was now trapped.
When the disgusting thing had been sighted in Misery Square, when so many had gone to fight against it, she had begged him not to.
Begged him.
The deja vu' of the moment had struck him as very poigniant, despite her sitting up weakly on Valerie's sofa instead of running after him across a tube station platform.
Despite that, the kiss she had pressed to the mask was the same, the sincere plea in her eyes was the same.
...His decision, was different.
He had stayed with her, and promised to be there when she woke again.
It had been rather easy, strangely enough.
Now, with the beast slain, the same painful question of her imprisonment was still there; still unresolved.
He sighed softly, and pulled the cover up where it had fallen from her arm, his glove very lightly running the backs of his knuckles across her arm.
