LOG; completed
When; Dec 23rd, morning.
Rating; PG-13, might change.
Characters; Jyabura [
maten_rou] and Robin [
blackhibiscus]
Summary; Chaaarlie, come with us to the beach! The magic beach of hope and wonder!
Log;
Robin roused from her sleep due to the sound of waves gently crashing against the shore, the loud screeching of seagulls and the feeling of sand tangling in her hair. Sand?
She blinked her eyes a few times and slowly realized that surely wasn’t in her room in the Going Merry. Memories of the day before floated through her mind; the hunt for ghosts with Jyabura, the chocolate cakes, her confusion about it all and the beach. Apparently she had fallen asleep there, because she felt sand between her clothes and a gentle breeze caressing her skin. But according to what she remembered, Jyabura was also with her the whole time. Had he left after she had fallen asleep?
And only then she realized that she was lying in someone’s arms.
Oh god, no. No.

Oh god, no. No.

He was still sleeping. And dreaming, apparently. So far he only knew he'd most probably never ever eat candy for the rest of his life, though he couldn't exactly remember why. With a yawn he turned around to lie on his back, when he realized something heavy was on him. What, that other puppy again? Oh no, not now... Too tired.
Still more asleep than awake, eyes still closed and with an annoyed expression on his sleepy face, he grabbed whoever by their arm and tried to pull it off from him, not even thinking about the possibility it couldn't be the other pup.
"Get off already... No more fighting today..."
no subject
She started poking him in his stomach, urging him just to wake the hell up, so that they could find a possible solution to their rather annoying…condition.
"Hey, wake up..." she whispered, getting more and more uncomfortable with the situation as each second passed.
no subject
If she hadn't whispered something, he might have just fallen asleep again. "What?", he was finally awake. "What-" That was one very familiar face, but just too close. Way too close. "WHAT?!" He let her hand finally go. "WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU DOING THERE?!", he shoutet, now very awake, but waking up with a poisonous snake on his chest couldn't have scared him more.
no subject
"I don't know, but what's important now is that I can't get off.” she tried to explain; she had given up her tries of standing up, after all, she’d need his cooperation for that. "I'm stuck. Literally."
no subject
Well, at least it couldn't be some trick of hers, because she'd rather die than to wake him up that way voluntary. So, it had to be a curse. Oh, he remembered. Weren't they kids for a day, running around and heading on to the beach at the end? He remembered a lot of fighting and candy-eating and collecting shells and reading books and nonsense like that. How embarassing.
"Obviously", he replied after his failed tries of getting her off. "And now, please stop being stuck, ok?"
no subject
She furrowed her brows and tried to think of a possible solution, but all of them included being stuck to Jyabura the rest of the day, and that was definitely the last thing she wanted. There had to be a way to get rid of the curse or at least make it a bit less awkward.
Right?
"So now what?"
no subject
He figured lying on top of him might be slightly abasing to her, so turning around to some side position seemed like the best idea since a very long time. Not that it would make the whole situation any less intimate. Stuck at their chests, WHAT? That would always end up in something way too intimate...
"Now what?", he repeated while trying to get in a somewhat comfortable position, which was simply fucking impossible. "Wait until it's midnight, of course. Then we'll be released, wait for the morning and get back to the City the same way we arrived here." Crossing the forest by night was sheer suicide, he wondered how they made it here in one piece. Good that he was at least physically an adult. "Prepare for the longest day ever, you'll survive it somehow", he joked sarcastically while laying his head on the sand and closing his eyes. Sleeping would help to ignore that whole bothersome situation.
He hoped.

She sighed and also closed her eyes, smiling wryly while doing so. They'd have to make the best of it. Again. All the "quality time" with him was really uncalled for, and it started to get on her nerves. Still, she tried to stay polite. No one was at fault here.
"It's just that after all these curses, we get yet another one. And why does it have to be something like this? It's as if the deities hate us with a passion."
no subject
"Oh yeaah", he answered in an overdrawn tone, "how horrible of them to let you spend a day with the father of your kid. God, really. How dare they?! Oh I'm sure they really hate you!"
It was very likely not the right time nor the right place to start some heavy discussion, but that really fucking annoyed him. "Also", he added in a quieter but still annoyed voice, "you're the one who was talking about curses and their senses. Go figure. If you're not too busy pitying yourself."
Oh he knew very good, while he was stronger physically than her, in this situation she was the one who could kill him without any problems within seconds. But like he'd care now.
no subject
The fact that she absolutely hated this curse apparently aggravated him a whole lot. She knew that any snide comment could piss him off really good right now, and she also knew that he'd probably be angry at her for a very long time. And yet, she couldn't resist.
"Does my annoyance of being stuck to you break your heart?"
no subject
Alas, after counting up all possible reasons to not kill her right now and eat up whatever is left of her, he could come up with at least one. That one tiny reason he went through all this bullshit. And whose fault it wasn't that its mother was apparently an impudent little bitch.
Oh well, whatever. It's just the way it was, and she wouldn't give a fuck anyways. "Don't tell me you just heard it crack?! Damn..." Pseudo-shyly he scratched the scar across his eye. "But now you can make a fancy little tea party with that kitty-spy on Christmas and backbite about me aaaall the time!"
no subject
She closed her eyes again and indulged herself in her amusement. She might turn up dead the next morning, but right then, she didn't really care. This was way too much fun, excluding the sand in her hair and clothes.
That curse didn't turn out to be too bad.

"You finally know it then, Robin-chan?" he asked theatralically with a sigh. "I always knew you were some smart woman, with your knowledge in old piles of stone and all that... incredibly interesting archaelogy stuff." He thought that this was the absolutely most boring crap in the world, and he made sure to let her know.
"I'm quite sure this won't surprise you too, so no reason to break my neck or the like. At least not before I'm finished..." he added before quickly turning her on her back, pinning her down and giving her a kiss. Just long enough for him to enjoy it, because she wouldn't anyways.
"Well, and that would be now."
no subject
She had totally been caught off-guard by his sudden action, but she wasn't necessarily disliking it or anything... wait, what was she thinking? This was very very very wrong, not to mention that he was lying on top of her.
She stared at him wide-eyed, utterly shocked and not knowing what to do. Still, she tried to hold up her facade of indifference, despite her huge confusion and surprise.
"Well, at least you're having fun." The crack her voice ruined it.
no subject
He didn't really know what to do anymore, but he had the feeling that he had to take the chance. To break that fucking mask of her she was hiding behind. Well, if he knew how?!
"And you're not having fun?" he asked her calmly and not able to come up with anything better.
no subject
But then again... she didn't really mind. In fact, it was exactly the reason that made her so uncomfortable. But those thoughts were absolutely wrong and she definitely didn't think of him in that way. Definitely.
"Maybe." she said while looking away. She couldn't take that smug grin anymore.
no subject
It couldn't be the totally wrong way, because in the end she could get rid of him easily. But she didn't. Nevertheless, he hadn't very much trust in his diplomatic skills. And there was no way back. Well, fuck!
"Robin..." he started very careful and as calm as he could, but she'd hear the, well, panic in his voice. "You don't need to act, ok? I know you are not that...", he thought for a good word quite a while, "...not that cold. You can put off that mask of yours. It makes no sense if I know that you wear one."
Oh fuck it, cowboy, he thought. Like she hadn't good reasons to act the way she was. He just wasn't good at this talking-stuff. At all.
no subject
God, why was she even explaining it? He probably wouldn't care either way. Had he ever cared? The only thing that concerned him was the child in her belly, not the person around it. Still, he had shown concern towards her sometimes. But only sometimes.
She finally dared to face him again, looking for any trace of sarcasm or mockery in his eyes. She found none.
"I'm sorry." she said in all honesty.
no subject
Now it was him who had to turn his face away. He couldn't care less looking into someone's face whose life the World Government has destroyed thoroughly. Pity? Bad conscience? Excuse me?! He'd probably laugh at them, too. Scum.
But it was an entirely different matter if that person was not only pregnant by him, but raised feelings in him, too. No matter if that girl happened to be public enemy number one. Oh well, bad luck, you know?
"No, I guess I am sorry. I have more than enough reasons to be sorry. Not you."
no subject
Only now she believed that he did have good intentions, and she had constantly been pushing him away. She admired the fact that he hadn't already kicked her in the sea after all this; it made her grin like an idiot. God, she had been so stupid.
"I've been nothing but apathetic towards you, while you've been trying to be nice to me. And why? You're supposed to kill me, not protect me. Yet you still do it. So that also deserves a thank you."
no subject
He dared to look in her face again, but hiding the insecure expression on his own was impossible. "I told you, I'd never lay a finger on you", he continued, immediately regreting that really clumsy choice of words for that situation, "and meanwhile not only because you're pregnant."
With a downright startled expression and an unevitable blush he took his hand back out of her hair that he had started to stroke with obviously more intention than only getting the sand out of it. What the hell?!
"Not that you didn't figure that out just a while ago..."
no subject
She didn't even know what the hell she was doing. She really wasn't. The past few weeks seemed very unreal, with all the curses, her sudden pregnancy and the way of things in general.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and brought her face closer with an enigmatic smile.
"Actually, I didn't."
no subject
"Well, then you're not as smart as I thought" he said and tried to put on a mocking grin, but he couldn't but smile honestly. Man, when was the last time he did that?
"Now that you know" he continued after giving her a second kiss, a more pleasant one than before "let me make sure you won't forget.."
Oh well, some things are just worth three years of waiting.
