Summary; Hotaru, bringing home dinner for her and Archer, runs into the "infamous" younger Uchiha. But perhaps he isn't the monster she's been lead to believe?
Log;
She wasn't really in a hurry, not like some people often were. With that being the case, Hotaru was taking time to enjoy the snow. Walking slowly, ghostly flakes dancing down on her, she set her bags down on a bench and stepped away from it. Putting her arms out to the sides, she spun slowly, black cloak whirling around her as she laughed at the winter marvel. Too bad Archer isn't here. It's so pretty It felt strange not to have the white-haired servant looming protectively behind her, but she'd asked him to stay home so she could surprise him with dinner, and for once he'd agreed to let her go alone.

Sasuke walked out of his apartment for a walk by himself after finally convincing Naruto not to come with him this time. He walked slowly through the snow, this mind still on his thoughts about the last few days. He looked up and saw a dark haired girl wearing a cloak that looked very familar. He just shrugged it off, not focusing to much on it and continued to walk a bit futher along the path.

She noticed the boy's approach and stopped, stepping out of the way and bowing to him. He looked a little familiar, but she wasn't sure why. Perhaps she had seen him in the City at some point, or maybe he lived near her. Either way, it wouldn't do to be impolite.

As girl turned to him, bowing, it was then he saw the symbol on her cloak. It was no wonder it looked familiar, it belonged to his clan.
"Where did you get that?" Sasuke asked, pointing to her cloak.

She looked up, startled. Stepping back slightly, she glanced down, fingertips ghosting over the symbol. "This? I..Itachi-sama gave it to me." Looking back up at him, she cocked her head to the side, violet eyes narrowing in confusion. "Why?"

Sasuke looked at her suspiciously at the mention of his brother. With how she way she addressed him, it made him wonder what things his brother had told this girl. "My brother...?" he began to speak, "That cloak you're wearing, it has the symbol of my clan on it. That's why I was curious as to why you had it"

Eyes the same shade as winter violets widened, fear ghosting over their surfaces. Brother? That meant...this was the same one. The one who, according to Itachi-sama, was a dangerous sociopath. The one who, at only 7 years old, had slaughtered an entire clan. She stepped back, arms coming up in front of her, beginning to tremble. "You....you're....you're...Uchiha Sasuke?"

Sasuke nodded, "Yeah, I am...how do you know my brother?"

"G..g..get away...." She backed up a few more steps, eyes huge and scared in her face.

Sasuke blinked, as the girl backed away from him, looking scared "Huh? What'd I do?"

She simply stared at him, disbelief evident on her face. "Don't get closer. I...I'll call Archer!" The threat probably would have meant more to him had he known who Archer was, but at the time she didn't care. All she knew was that this...boy, this child-murderer, was standing not 5 feet from her. "What did you do? Don't pretend you don't know. Itachi-sama told me what happened. Are you going to try and kill me too?"

"I...What do you mean, what I did?" Sasuke shook his head, shaking slightly at the accusation. Not only was his brother showing him lies about killing his clan through his genjutsu but to other people as well? It was just too much. "I...didn't kill anyone. It wasn't me...I don't want to hurt you"

"Liar. I know about you. You're a sociopath. You...you're horrible....just a kid and...you killed your whole family. And now...now you want to kill the only family you've got left!" For some reason, her fear was ebbing slightly. Perhaps it was because he didn't LOOK that intimidating. Either way, she was going to keep her distance. A hand shot out, the Silence Glaive appearing. With a spin, it was pointed at him in warning. "Don't come any closer. I won't hurt you unless you attack me. Itachi-sama wouldn't like that, he wouldn't want to kill his little brother."

"Because of what he told you?" Sasuke started to shake even more, wincing as the constant accusation being thrown at him. "I...I didn't do that was all him. He killed them all...our parents, everyone. I'm not lying...

"Why should I believe you? You just want me to think that. You're like all of the others. They hate Itachi-sama, but I won't let them hurt him!"

Sasuke sighed, "I am> telling the truth. The reason everyone hates him is only because of what he did, and he wants it that way.My brother has tried to kill me but he only lets me live to see me suffer, and to use me to hurt the people I care about. You only seem to know and believe exactly what he's told you, so hearing what I have to say, or anyone else for that matter, so I guess nothing will change your mind"

She relaxed slightly. Regardless of what he said, he wasn't trying to hurt her. "And you seem so convinced that he's a demon who does nothing but kill. He's kind to me, which is more then I can say for you OR your allies."

"That's because he is. If he's kind to you, it's only because he wants something from you, so he'll make up things to gain your trust. The fact you think so highly of him and believe every word he says, just proves my point," Sasuke paused momentarily, "...Huh? What have my friends done to you?"

"They think I'm a monster, just because I won't help them destroy Itachi-sama. That one woman with the brown hair, she keeps accusing me of healing his eyes, and threatening to attack me if I "side with Uchiha Itachi". Like she's got some right to tell me who I can and can't be friends with. They won't just leave me alone! The only one who seems to actually care is that blond boy, the one with the demon in him. Probably because they hate HIM too." She had no idea why she was telling him all of this. By all rights, she ought to have been running. But the pent up frustration and nervousness and feelings of persecution had gotten to her, and she needed an outlet. Unfortunately for Sasuke, he was proving to be a convenient one.

"So you're the one who...." Sasuke said, surprised that it was that was the same girl who had helped his brother, but he shook it off, "Look. I know for a fact he's dangerous, after all the things he put me through back at home and while we were here...but I'm not going to tell you not to side with him, go ahead for all I care. It's only a matter of time before you'll end up finding out what I've known about him all along..."

At the mention of Naruto, he stopped talking for a moment, before continuing, "...Blonde boy...You mean Naruto? You know him too?"

"I didn't do it, stop saying that!" She paused, pulling the cloak tighter around herself. "I don't know his name. He's got stripes on his cheeks. He was talking about a special friend, but that he couldn't tell me because it wasn't his place to. He's a lot like me..."

"Sorry...I didn't mean to accuse you. I just heard that somebody had, I don't know the person's name" Sasuke looked down, "Hm. Yeah, that's Naruto. I think he was probably talking about me, since I told him not to say anything about what happened"

She nodded slightly. Now that she wasn't as afraid of him, she studied the boy. He was probably about 12 or 13, a few years younger then her though she knew that she herself looked roughly that age. She could easily see the resemblance between him and Itachi, though the younger brother's face was a tad rounder, eyes not slanted quite so much. And his eyes were black, not red with black in them. She frowned slightly. "Why are your eyes not like his?"

Sasuke was surprised by the question,"My eyes? Because they are just different, my sharingan is not like his..."

"No, yours are black. His are red." She wasn't prying, merely curious. Maybe one of them took after each of their parents. "You're lucky. Everyone seems to hate red eyes. That's why those awful people tried to hurt Itachi-sama's eyes."

"Yeah, I know. Lucky?" Sasuke smiled at the girl in front of him, despite what she thought of him because of what his brother told her, she didn't seem like such a bad kid. "It's because I haven't activated my sharingan. Our eyes are similar though, it's a bloodline trait from our clan. Though my brother's is a different type from mine. I'll show you..."
Within a few seconds, he activated his sharingan, and his eyes immediatly changed colour.

She flinched slightly at his smile, but she was interested in what he had to say. Studying his eyes, she shook her head. "No, his aren't different then that. Except...yours don't have as many dots in them as his do."

Sasuke nodded, "Yeah, that's actually what I meant by different type...what he has is the mangekyo sharingan"

"But...it looks the same. It just has 3 dots instead of 2."

Sasuke paused, wondering how to explain it to her before he spoke. "Hm. Yeah, well, that's because mine haven't fully developed yet"

She nodded. That at least made sense. Considering Itachi WAS older then his brother. She changed the subject, digging a booted toe into the snow. "Ne...the blond boy...you said his name's Naruto?"

"Yeah, what about him?" Sasuke looked at the girl, curiously.

"He...he seems nice. Not like the others. He seems....more like me..."

"Like you? What do you mean?" Sasuke asked

"He...has a power that others don't understand. Just like me. He knows what it's like to be hated. To be told you don't even have a right to exist. That you have to be killed, just because of who you are. When you didn't even want it or ask for that power in the first place." The anger and fear that she'd had seemed to have vanished, instead replaced by a sadness that shaded her violet eyes.

He nodded in response, "I see what you mean, no wonder you think you're alike..."

She nodded slightly. "Itachi-sama doesn't think like that. He thinks I'm special."

"Hm..." Sasuke didn't say much other than that. If the girl wanted to believe what his brother told her, he really couldn't stop her, since he wouldn't believe him anyway.

Hotaru rummaged in her bag, pulling out a cup of raman. "I...I heard he likes ramen... right?"

Sasuke laughed, "Yeah, he does. It's his favourite thing to eat"

"Can...can you give this to him? I...for Christmas..." She held out the cup of ramen timidly to him, glaive still held in her other hand as if to reassure herself that he wasn't going to do anything to her.

Sasuke nodded, reaching for the cup of ramen the girl held out to him. "Sure, of course I will give it to him"

"Th...thank you." She stepped back, the glaive fading away. "I..I should be getting home. Archer is probably worried about me."

"You're welcome" Sasuke smiled slightly, "Oh. Sure, go ahead...what's your name, anyway? I don't think you told me"

She paused, picking up her bags. "Hotaru. Tomoe Hotaru."

Hotaru It was the same name Naruto told him when he explained what happened to his brother a few days ago, which meant that it was actually her who healed Itachi eyes, and that she was just denying everything. He nodded in her direction, showing no sign of the fact he recognized the name "It's...nice to meet you."

She smiled slightly. "Nice to meet you too, Sasuke-san. I...maybe if things were a bit different, we could be friends."

Sasuke smiled back, "Yeah, I guess so..."

With a slight bow, she turned and headed off down the street, black cloak swishing softly in the snowfall, the faintest tinkling of bells sounding from the chime on the clasp. In the midst of the snow, she could nearly be mistaken for an Akatsuki member, the absence of the scarlet clouds and straw hat the only discerning difference.
