Summary; Bart gets wished human and Kitty conspires to get him drunk
Log;
Bartimaeus has been lounging on the couch, as per usual while Kitty was out. He didn't really pay attention to how she had been over the past few days. After she had turned into a child he had elected to avoid her as curses assaulted her. He was lucky in comparison, not a single curse so far.
So far being a the key word.
The djinni began to hover up into the air to examine the tree Kitty had insistantly put up and forced him to help her decorate. He examined the ornaments, smiling lightly at the small anhk that Kitty had hung up on it. It was a nice touch. The djinn was so lost in thought, he didn't notice the tingling of his essence as it changed until it was too late. His powers cut out and he crashed to the ground. He blinked, completely dumbfounded. He couldn't see the seven planes.
He raised his hand and tried firing a detonation. Nothing. He tried shifting form. Nothing.
"NOT AGAIN!"
Yes, the djinn was once again stuck in Ptolemy's form. He scowled, crossing his arms inside the too big brown sweater and stood up, slightly too long jean legs covering bare feet. Yes, for now, Bartimaeus was just a normal human.

Yes, the djinn was once again stuck in Ptolemy's form. He scowled, crossing his arms inside the too big brown sweater and stood up, slightly too long jean legs covering bare feet. Yes, for now, Bartimaeus was just a normal human.

And the worst thing was, she couldn't tell anyone. Not a soul. They wouldn't understand, they'd think she was some kind of a... she shook her head. No. Best not to tell anyone. Bartimaeus wouldn't be angry, but not being human he wouldn't get the problem. She had fleetingly wished he could be human, just once, but it would never happen.
Sighing, she open the door, walked into the room and... stopped dead. Bartimaeus was... sulking? He looked like a petulant child. It was somewhat disconcerting, but more than a little amusing. Despite her feelings, she gave a small smile at his expression.
"What happened to you?" Mimicking his pose she crossed her arms, looking him up and down sardonically, "You don't look very into the Christmas spirit."

"This bloody city is out to get me!" He ranted, the slight egyptian accent that always seeped into his voice when he was mad evident now as he stalked over and threw himself down on his couch. "Just when I think I'm in the clear it hits me with something new!"
Of course, he hadn't specifially said what was wrong at the moment. He did not want to admit to Kitty that he was human. It was simply too disturbing.

Kitty winced a little at the mention of the City though, and at his reference to curses. She knew all too well what they could do. But... as she glanced over, she couldn't see anything clearly wrong with him. No rotting flesh, no loss of limbs, nothing.
"Don't throw a temper tantrum now," shaking her finger and her head, Kitty tutted audibly. "It's not healthy." She sauntered over to the couch, perching on the arm, peering down at him curiously. "What happened?"

He was still ranting, starting to slip into egpytian until Kitty sat on the arm, then he cut off.
"If you must know, I'm bloody human! No powers, no shapeshifting, no seeing the seven planes!" He said standing up again. He had too much angry energy to stay still, especially now that he couldn't fly or shift forms. And thus, he began to pace.

And now he was – Egyptian again. It was so annoying when he did that. Biting her smile away, she tried to look serious as he got up and took a deep breath, clearly about to start another major rant.
She became actually serious however, as he spoke, rising to her feet in turn, shock plain on her face. "You're... you're human?" What more could she say? The idea was...

Bartimaeus scowled as Kitty repeated what he said. "Yes, I'm bloody human. Flesh, bones and-" He grimaced, definitely not liking the idea of having a human body with all the works. "-blood."
Of course he wasn't as aware of his body as he was when he had been sealed inside of Nathaniel. All he knew was that having to breath constantly was annoying!
"It's this damn city's fault! This is the second time in the same month I've been turned human!"

And now there was... nothing more. He was what he was. He was what he looked like. Human. It was more than peculiar. It was weird.
"It must be a curse, some kind of a..." she blinked, just stopping herself from gasping in time. This must be - she had said that wish aloud, hadn't she? It was her fault.
Not that she was going to tell him that.
Seeing him get so worked up though, it was... she was meant to be feeling guilty and depressed, but she found herself getting more and more amused by the second. He was getting so distraught over what she was all the time. He was practically having a fit.
"You're human." She repeated the phrase once more, and then burst into hysterical laughter.
