Summary; Ingram finally gets some time over Cobray's body to meet with Itachi. A plot is developed. One that only two manipulative people can develop.
Log; Ingram had loudly made his presence known on the network previously during the day. He was hoping that if someone was planning on contacting him, that would have been a message saying he was available. Of course, he wanted to keep it a secret. That overconfident Tenten was likely to be keeping an eye on him, so he had to be careful. So Ingram strolled on the outskirts of town. He glanced around and pushed some of his long blue hair out of his eyes. He thought someone was watching him but being dead and stuck in Cobray for a long time may have dulled his spy senses, so he was wary. Finally, he stopped near the edge of the forest. Nobody was around but he had hoped that word was out to someone that he was waiting.
The faintest jingling chime was all the warning he had as a black and red cloaked shadow appeared behind him, flash of silvery metal at the base of his skull. Red eyes regarded him from underneath the brim of the straw hat, their burning colour concealed partially by the trailing strips of white silk. "Ingram-san, I believe."
Ingram wasn't phased but he should play it cautious. He continued to face the direction he was already in. "Like the boy, I am not Japanese. So if you could please drop the -san and refer to me as Ingram, Uchiha Itachi."
Ingram slowly turned around, his dark blue eyes giving a faint sparkle. "I figured it might be you. You don't seem to miss much and I'm assuming you've said something to the Haku boy about me."
The Uchiha allowed the corners of his mouth to turn up slightly in what could only be termed a smirk as he lowered the weapon, chimed tassel swaying slightly. "As you wish, Ingram." Stepping back slightly, he nodded. "I merely utilized your unique abilities as a means of acheiving my own goals by spinning whatever tale the boy needed to hear. I'm sure you understand the logic behind such a move."
Ingram gave Itachi one of his customary evil smirks. "Let me guess. The boy has someone precious to him that is dead, and you told him that I could get him back but Cobray is stopping me. Well, your answer doesn't really matter. My question is what goal do you hope to achieve by having me around instead of Cobray?"
"Quite simple, really. I have heard Cobray speak of your source of power, that it draws from the souls of the dead. There is a man here, Aizen Sousuke. A shinigami, who interferes with Akatsuki's goals. However, he is powerful and our numbers are few. I am offering you a trade. Your power, aiding our cause. In exchange, control over the body that you and Cobray share, for as long as you wish." He stepped back slightly, taking off the wide-brimmed hat.
"Aizen, huh. That man and I are not on good terms. I think your offer is sound and I accept. I would like to ask for a few favors though. That ninja girl. Sample 09, Tenten. She is a hassle to me. She has a connection with Cobray beyond what I would expect he could perform. I need them two ripped apart. Perhaps you could offer a solution or advice?"
The Sharingan-user nodded. "I know of her. And I believe that I do indeed have a solution for you. Are you aware of my specialties?"
Ingram tilted his head back a little. "I'm quite aware, but how will it resolve the problem? That is, unless you can hypnotize her into hating him."
He grinned. "I can certainly do that, given the opportunity. However, this Cobray wishes to fight me. It would be far easier for me to convince him of hatred for her. Enough to do significant damage to their..."relationship". Beyond that, I DO have other, less elegant means at my disposal."
Ingram brushed a strand of blue behind his ear. "I think that will be suitable enough. Rendering the boy nearly braindead with bad memories is almost an overkill, but I have no qualms about it." Ingram eyes went blank for a second as he thought. "Perhaps you could offer me a spot in your organization? I can bring some different yet useful abilities into the Akatsuki."
There was a nod from the raven-haired man as he brushed his long ponytail back over his shoulder. "Indeed. However, the decision is not entirely my own to make. I can, however, offer you the chance to prove yourself worthy. If you should do so, then we would welcome you."
"Proving myself worthy. Such can be a simple task. I will dwell on it until the time comes when you turn Cobray into a shivering mass." Ingram turned as if to step away, then stopped. "Is there anything else specific you want from me? If so, I am open ears."
Itachi shook his head. "At the moment, no. All that we require is your cooperation in regards to Haku, should the opportunity arise. Use every chance you have to convince him that we speak truth on the matter of Zabuza's imprisonment."
Ingram was lost once again in thought. "Momichi Zabuza? One of the seven swordsman from your Mist village? Don't be surprised I know this. I took the time to steal much information from that weak snake. I will handle this Haku well. Besides, manipulating people is my forte."
Crimson eyes spun once as a malicious grin spread across the young face. It was his forte as well, and it felt good to find another like-minded person. "Correct. The boy served him, to a desperately-loyal extent. He defines his existence by his usefulness to Zabuza. Your intel-gathering skills seem to be on par with our own. Good."
"Alright. You can trust me to pick up my end of the deal. Thank you for this meeting. It's proved quite...valuable for future actions." Ingram took two steps back and opened a wormhole behind himself. "Thank you for your time, Itachi." Ingram took a final step back and was transported back to his room in the temple.
