Rating; PG.
Characters; Eric Draven
dravens_joke, V
velated_v and Evey
ever_evey
Summary; Eric and his bird make a visit to the Tube Station to meet V, and finally Eric stops being stubborn and lets the city lead him.
Log;
Eric had left building 9 with the sunset the crow flying high above him as he moved taking Jan's advice and was letting the city guild him.
The man was dressed in black from head to toe, combat boots, leather pants and tight black shirt with a black trench coat over it. his black wavy hair framed his face making the brown eyes more visible.
Finally making it to the tube station Eric looked around some, he really did find this place strange, it always rained where he was from, gloomy and yet this messed up Carnival not only made his longing for Shelly worse it also just didn't seem like it was earth at all. Turning his head he looked up at his feathered companion and smiled some.
"Remind me to find some liquor for Jan, I really have to thank him for his advice."
The Crow came down to land on Eric's shoulder as he mad his way forward to enter the station and look for the man known as V.

He did hope that Mr. Draven had not been confounded by the city in his efforts to reach the subway.
He sighed and found himself beggining to pace in time with the monotonous metronome as his thoughts turned agian to the upcoming council meeting.
Kaen had as good as threatened him, and though V wasn't frightened in the least for himself ( he had shed fear of authoritarian representations long ago) he had found himself worrying more and more for what the possible repurcussions would be for Evey.
Thus caught up in his own thoughts he nearly missed the raspy "caw" of a large crow as it alighted near his feet, and fixed him with an eye that seemed far too knowing for a common bird.
V paused in his pacing and turned toward the shadow darkening the steps.
"Mr. Draven, I assume?" he called.

"and you must be the mysterious V, and as I think I have said before you can call me Eric."
coming to stand near the man now the guitarist of Hangman's Joke smiled again as he looked at V, some how he couldn't picture this man any other way. the journal images and such did give the image but he didn't think he would ever recognize the man without that mask on.
"a lovely night don't you agree?"

"My apologies, then, Eric."
"a lovely night don't you agree?"
Fawkes ever-grinning visage now hinted at the wry smile worn by the man beneath as he answered:
"A lovelly night, indeed. Of course, any night in this city that sees us free of gender switches, musical doorways, body-swapping, or abominable heat waves is a rare and glorious night, indeed."
V gave a small laugh, then gestured for Eric to follow as they made thier way toward the platform.
V checked his pocketwatch once more, then after returning it to the depths of his jacket and cloak, held out a hand to indicate they wait.
"Charon is running late tonigh..." he commented mostly to himself.
"We must wait for the train to pass before continuing on, you see" he offered by way of explanation...and no sooner had the words left his mouth did the train come roaring into view.
But tonight ( much like every night V was simply passing the track onhis way home) the conductor seemed to intuitively know taht no one on the platform had any need of transportation, and so the train roared off along it's way as quickly as it had appeared.
V jumped off the platform and looked back. "This way."
He strolled liesurely across the rails, and through a small side tunnel that led deeper into the underground.
Here the only lighting came from small bare bulbs affixed along the maintenence tunnel by whatever workers had constructed this city and it's innards...all long gone now, of course, lit the way in wane pools of light.
" After the wayward doorway curse, I was forced to repair my front door. I tookthat oppurtunity, however, to add an extra measure of security." V commented as he paused in front of a seemingly innocuous bit of wall.
Drawing a set of keys from his cloak, he unlocked and opened the hidden door, then gestured for eric to enter.
"Welcome to my home (http://velated-v.livejournal.com/1587.html)."
(( ooc: pictures of V and Evey's home taken the day before the doors all led elsewhere. The Great room is actually a bit bigger than it looks in that pic. I'll be posting a better one of the great room soon ^^))

"no need for appologize, I just see no need for formalities between friends, you do agree do you not?"
He followed the man to the edge of the platform stopping at the motioned hand as the train zoomed by he smiled some mostly to himself at how this city knows. truly knows what your thinking no matter how much you don't want something known. the city already knows.
his brown eyes watched the fluttering of V's cloak before he jumped down landing on his feet before his hands returned to his pockets, following V down the tunnels as he noticed his feathered friend in the air following in the near the roof of the tunnel
"you don't mind if the crow files around out here or comes in do you I've noticed it never seems to be far from me at any given point"
"Welcome to my home."
Watching the man open up the door in the wall he nodded in approval "nice trick, I'll remember that"
entering the home of V an Evey looking around he suddenly felt the tinge in his chest the longing for Shelley near had returned thinking of how she had decorated there loft, this place had that's same feel to it, but he knew that he wouldn't see her and he wouldn't wish this place on his beloved Shelley either.
"its a nice place..."
moving around to stand in the middle of the room he removed his jacket looking back at V with a bittersweet look.
"feels like you put a lot of care into this place"

"As long as it is housetrained, I see no reason why it should be left out in the cold."
V nodded to the bird in question. He had seen it's knowing eyes, and in this city it was better to err on the side of caution with any manner of guest, be they humanoid or not.

V gave a small nod.
"A house is not a home unless it contains food and fire for the mind as well as the body" he quoted, and regarded the home he had made only comfortable recently...since Evey's arrival to be precise.
V gestured to a chair not far from Eric.
" please, make yourself comfortable"
V chose his favored position on the sofa, and indicated Evey.
"Eric, I believe you have already made Evey's acquaintance ?"

Eric nodded and watched the large bird make its way in after him moving to perch somewhere. while the man himself eyes left V and went to the bird a moment before back to V.

he nodded some and draped his jacket over the back of the chair before taking a seat looking at V as he thought for a moment looking down at the fact he hadn't buckled the boots but it didn't really matter it was more the shine of the buckles that caught his eye before his words came.
"your right about that, Shelley used to tell me similar when we first met, she turned the place we lived in into a home...a womans touch is magical"
looking up at the woman he bowed his head some as the dark hair spilled around his face again.
"it is a pleasure to finally met you in person"

As the two men settled in the great room, the shrill whistle of a kettle drifted out of the kitchen, along with the sound of a young woman shouting, “Damn it!”
...And a few minutes later, Evey Hammond appeared in the great room, looking a bit flustered but none the worse for wear. When she returned to the kitchen, she would have to wipe up the boiling water that had shot out of the teakettle when she didn’t immediately remove it from the heat. (Considering that she’d nearly scalded her fingers trying to get the kettle off the stove, though, she was rather happy it was only a small mess that had come of the situation.) She stood just behind the couch as V introduced her.
Evey smiled at Eric, nodding to him in acknowledgement when he bowed his head to her. “It’s nice to meet you properly, too, Eric.”
Jerking her head back towards the kitchen, Evey added, “I made some Earl Grey. Would either of you like a cup?” She sincerely hoped they did—otherwise, her battle against the kitchen implements would have been for naught.
