Nana trailed behind Hachi, letting her lead the way. Admittedly, she was relieved. Sleeping outside and improvising wasn't the same as having an actual roof over your head. Having company wasn't bad either. She'd develop a bad habit of thinking back on the ticking sound that she'd heard on her first day in this city, and these usually happened when she thought too much and too hard.

But still...

The fingers that she kept warm in her pocket curled into her palm, and she kept her peace, a little wary about whether or not she would be welcome in this stranger's apartment -- nevermind that he seemed nice enough to have taken Hachi in.

Hachi is deliriously happy that Nana agreed to stay with her and Mikagami-san. At first she was very scared about Nana avoiding her, but she is so glad that the other girl doesn't seem to be as mad as Hachi expected her to be. Looking over her shoulder to make sure that Nana is still behind her, Hachi smiles widely at her friend before turning forward again.

"Nee~ Nana, what do you want for dinner?" Hachi feels like celebrating tonight and she just went grocery shopping today so she can cook anything Nana wants her to!

Nana looked up then and managed a smile. "I'm up for anything, really. You always know what to cook for me anyway." She pauses a bit, stopping in her tracks for a bit of emphasis. "But are you sure this Mikagami-san won't mind that I'm bumming off the both of you?" She notes the way the hall looks, the lighting and the tiles on the floor.

She misses their old apartment. She still wonders if both glasses really are broken.

Hachi gives Nana another wide grin in reply. She knows that there isn't much she can do, but she is glad that at least Nana enjoys her cooking. Walking across the room to switch on the lights, Hachi quickly skipped over to Nana again to guide her to a sofa.

"It's okay~ It's okay~ Mikagami-san is really really nice!" She chirps out. "He's still out at work, but he should be home soon!"

It should be so easy to just let things fall back into place. Don't complicate things Nana. Be grateful and happy that she's talking to you.

She sits down where Hachi guides her, and only briefly scans the place. It's not their apartment, but it's nice in it's own way. "Work?" She poses the query. "Where does he work?"

"He works odd jobs!" Hachi replies cheerfully, walking over to the kitchen counter and laying out food supplies as well as kitchen tools on the table. "I think he's fixing stuff now, he tried to explain but I didn't understand," She laughs sheepishly at Nana.

Placing a leek on the cutting board, Hachi smiles to herself fondly. "Mikagami-san said he'll always take care of me," she says more to herself than to Nana.
