Short fluff log!

Summary; Kamui and Nill promised each other hugs, and so they get one.
Log;

Nill floundered down the streets of the City. She had been here for more or less than a week...probably less. At least the place did not seem as scary as it had when she first arrived. There was a very important difference between then and now. Then, she was confused and barely knew anyone, now she more less had a good idea about what was going on and knew more than a few people that occupied the city.

The mute looked around the arrangement of stores for some place that might hopefully sell medical supplies. The medical kit she had brought with her from her world (for Badou's seemingly constant...and bloody...injuries which had been recently restocked) was quickly running out. Did people get hurt this often in the City...? The lightness of step, faded with the thoughts of what had happened recently, her wings drooped.

Groceries, groceries... that was what Kamui was focusing on at the moment. Or... trying to, rather. It was a little hard to fixate on such when he was busy being paranoid; always looking around and jolting when someone accidentally touched him. It had been quite a while since he'd gone out alone, and for good reason: bad things tended to happen to him when he was alone. Today, though, seemed to be going alright... he certainly hadn't been jumped yet.

And it seemed as though his oddly good luck was getting better: finding a familiar person in the City's normal shopping crowds. "Um... Nill!" he called out, walking toward her, suddenly shy. It wasn't as if he knew her THAT well, and... he hadn't meant to call attention to both of them by calling out.

Hearing her name, Nill turned around, her dress making a nice swish sound along with the movement. Scanning the crowd for the source of the voice, she was pleasantly surprised to find that it was Kamui. He was certainly doing better than the last time she saw him...at least from this vantage point. The mute waved to him a bit shyly, she didn't know Kamui that well...and well...didn't she make that promise...that she would hug him the next time she saw him? Her cheeks tinged with pink at the embarassing thought, even Haine wasn't very open to hugs...

She grew a bit flustered as Kamui neared, what would she do? Nill had no idea...uguu...well hugging wasn't such a bad thing in the first place...now that she thought about it...it seemed really...nice...

It wasn't until Kamui was a mere few feet away from her than he remembered their promise: the hug. "Um..." he instantly blushed, feeling as awkward as possible. How to...? Should he be the one to hug her? Should he wait till she hugged him? He wasn't at all used to this.

He could do this, though: hugging a girl wasn't so weird. He had, after all, hugged Kotori a lot in all the years of their friendship, and... he didn't need to think of that right now. He didn't want to worry the girl by suddenly getting upset. "Um..." he looked at her with a small, shy smile, inching closer, "It's... it's nice to see you again." And with that, he pulled her to himself gently, hugging a little awkwardly, but trying his best not to make it TOO weird.

She stiffened a bit, mostly from surprise. W-wasn't she the one that was supposed to hug first? Oh no...maybe Kamui had really needed a hug...the girl fretted...she shouldn't have been so hesitant? But...the whole situation was kind of awkward...This was utterly confusing.

But...she liked the feeling of getting hugged. It went along with the feelings of Haine holding her hand, or the people she cared about patting her on the head. It was comforting. She wrapped her arms around slowly around Kamui, returning the embrace. She rested her face on Kamui's chest, it felt warm, comfortable...it felt...safe...

At first, he'd been afraid when he'd felt Nill tense up; maybe he had done something wrong? But then she relaxed against him, holding him in turn, and he felt much better. This was kind of nice, actually; it'd been a while since he'd had someone this close to him. It was nice and warm, for sure. A comfort.

The problem now, however, was pulling apart. It was far too comfortable at the moment, and... well, what was considered an acceptable length of time to hold another person? In public? He didn't know at all. But at least it was good for now, right? "Is this..." he rested his chin on the top of her head, calmer now than he had been moments ago, "Is this okay?" A nod or a shake of the head would do.

Nill nodded slowly, as not to dislodge Kamui's resting head. She wasn't sure if she was supposed to let go...or even if she really wanted to let go...why was she so befuddled? It took her a few moments to realize just exactly 'where' they were hugging. Her face turned a deep shade of red, w-wait...was t-this improper...? W-What if Kamui was embarassed too? And didn't let go because of Nill's selfishness? Ahhhh...Oh no...

But...it just felt so comfortable...her feelings were a weird combination of embarrassment, happiness, and relief. It felt like...everything was going to be alright...would it...?

Finally, it got to the point that Kamui was getting uncomfortable: not so much because of the hug, but because people were staring. "Um..." he pulled back slightly, just enough to look at her, trying to smile reassuringly. He didn't want her thinking he was upset over this; she was shy and awkward enough as it was. "It's probably not the best idea to just stand here like this. Want to, I dunno, do something?" He felt a little weird asking that, especially after the hug. But that talking dog had said this was a good way to make friends. "We can get tea or coffee or something, if that's okay."

Reassured by Kamui's smile, she nodded vaguely and smiled back softly in response. That sounded like a good idea...but...wasn't Nill forgetting something?

Ah!

Her eyes widened, she nearly forgot to get bandages! Well...maybe she could get them after...tea did sound nice...Just a little wouldn't hurt anybody. She reluctantly withdrew her hold and smiled, it had been a nice hug...maybe they could do so more often?

He smiled a little more surely, still on the small side and shy, but at least he wasn't being rejected. That reassured him a little. "Tea, then?" He petted her head a little, then took her hand, starting to lead her. "I went to this really good place here once. It's really relaxed and everything." He tried to not go too fast, not wanting to drag or lose her (which is why he was holding her hand in the first place, really). It was far too easy to get separated in the crowds, really.

He just wished this would stop reminding him of his times with Kotori.

How did Kamui know the things that comforted her the most? Reassured by Kamui's knowledge of exactly where they were going, she followed him eagerly, allowing herself to be slightly pulled along. She really hoped she didn't get lost on the way back...the City was a big place after all...

Nill smiled softly to herself, she was glad she was able to meet someone like Kamui here. She didn't know how to describe the feeling that she got when Nill was with Kamui...maybe...maybe it was because...it reminded her of being with Haine...
