Log;

It was getting warmer, every day it seemed like the City brightened a little with the snowy winter being chased away. It was such a nice day. In the past maybe Frey would have used the day to go training, or perhaps fishing, or maybe just take a boat down the Feitas. He wasn’t anywhere near home though and after yesterday…he really didn’t want to show his face to anyone. He didn’t regret his actions but that didn’t mean he’d had any desire to share the details of what happened.

Hardly, hardly princely of him. Nope, he wasn’t going to leave his room anytime soon, Kyle could go on banging the door all day and he wasn’t going to budge. Not until he felt confident that his face wouldn’t betray his embarrassment anymore.

He can’t just stay in there and mope forever, Kyle thought, growing increasingly frustrated with Frey’s recent behavior. Okay so he found out about Frey’s little exploit with a stranger, though he still didn’t know the name of the guy. And he found out because of that, that Frey had lied during their drinking game, but that wasn’t that big of an issue. Even if Kyle was plotting to get him back for lying eventually, but that was because he’d lied and not because he’d had sex. You don’t lie during a drinking game. It went against some unwritten code or something.

Still, banging against the door and calling out for Frey to come and open the door was getting Kyle nowhere fast. He’d just have to take some drastic measures then.

“Prince! If you don’t open this door, I’m just going to have to come in there and drag you out myself!” Kyle warned one last time.

“That’s…a bit extreme?” Frey muttered as he finally got up and opened the door. It wasn’t as if he was planning to mope forever, just until he had the dignity to face people. He’d learned long ago it didn’t really matter what you did so long as you maintained a composed face. One of Ferid’s many lessons of life… Now if only the way Kyle was treating him didn’t make him feel like a cowed child. Hiding behind the door and peeking out and up at the older man? Also not very princely.

Back straight and face as neutral as he could get it he opened the door fully, “What is it?” He couldn’t help it though when he felt his face start heating up the moment he met Kyle’s eyes.

Kyle stared down at Frey for a moment or two; glad that he had finally decided to open his door and somewhat greet the rest of the world. Even if so far, the rest of the world was just him right now. Now, if they had been back in Falena, Lyon would be right there besides Kyle fussing over the Prince and telling him that he shouldn’t behave in such a manner and that everything was going to be okay. Though if they had been in Falena, nothing like this would have even happened in the first place, so that whole point would be moot.

Since they weren’t in Falena though, and there was no one around to yell at him for his actions, he was free to do or say anything he wanted. Within reason. They might not have been in Falena and it wasn’t like Frey could fire him or anything, but he was still Kyle’s Prince. But because of the freedom he now possessed, Kyle was free to do what he did next without fear of sharp things going into him.

Giving Frey a quick grin, Kyle suddenly bent down, grabbed him around the middle, and slung Frey onto his shoulder like he was a sack of potatoes, mindful to keep a tight grip, knowing that his actions wouldn’t be taken lightly and that Frey would most likely fight back.

“It’s time to go out Prince!”

Frey squawked, that was the only way to describe the sound. Even Ferid had never picked him up like that, and besides his father no one else would dare to manhandle the prince of Falena. “What do you think you are doing?” Frey demanded, squirming in Kyle’s grasp. He thrashed and wriggled, hoping that the crazy blonde would lose his grip and drop him. As if the previous day hadn’t been humiliating enough now this…he didn’t think there was any way to make his current position dignified.

“Put me down!” Kyle was lucky Frey wasn’t inclined to kick though he did shift and squirm and flail, smacking firmly at Kyle’s back as if the blonde couldn’t hear him screaming. “I demand you put me down this moment, Kyle!”

“Sorry, no can do Prince,” Kyle said lightly, already making his way out of the apartment, doing his best to ignore Frey’s thrashing and wriggling. He might look small and feminine, but there was definite strength in those arms and in that small body. Thankfully he didn’t have his weapon to use, otherwise Kyle might actually have to put Frey down due to the smacking he’d get. “You can’t just sulk in your room forever and getting some fresh air will be good for you.”

Adjusting his grip for a moment so that he could turn the doorknob and open the door, Kyle quickly made his way down and out of the building, shifting and adjusting as Frey kept wriggling and smacking him. Feeling one particular smack land a little lower than the others, Kyle raised an eyebrow and cleared his throat, speaking a little louder than he had been before. “Why Prince, don’t you think that’s a little forward of you? Smacking my butt like that?” he teased with a grin, even though Frey couldn’t see it, it was clear in his voice that he was.

All the blood was already in his face anyways thanks to the way he was hanging upside down, what difference did that added embarrassment make? What the hell, it didn’t look like he could wriggle free anyways. Frey wasn’t weak by any stretch but Kyle still had a sizeable advantage of size, he was skinny enough to fit easily on Kyle’s shoulders and the older man’s arm wasn’t budging at all. Unless Frey really intended to kick the crap out of the blonde there was no way to get free.

Frey smacked Kyle’s rear rather deliberately this time, “I was not sulking and that was not a compliment!” It might have been juvenile but it wasn’t as if Kyle was being very adult about the situation either. Prince or not he was still a teenager and no teenaged boy would be too pleased being handled like that by their friend he was sure. Wherever Kyle wanted to take him he hoped they got there soon.

“Aww, you’re hurting my feeling here Prince,” Kyle quipped lightly. He was rather enjoying the situation now that it seemed like Frey had given up trying to act like a dignified prince and more like any normal teenager would. As it was, the blonde was more inclined to treat Frey like he would have anyone else. Which meant that he was more inclined to tease and flirt with him. The flirting wasn’t exactly innocent, but there was still a large part of Kyle that said it was just how he was and that the flirting didn’t mean a thing. Though that large part was filled with a quite a few number of cracks as well.

“Are you trying to say that you don’t think my butt’s nice to look at?” Kyle would some day dig himself into a grave that a great number of people would happily push him down into, but until then, he was just going to keep on being the way he was.

“It’s big,” Frey commented in the most deadpan voice he could manage, and poking aforementioned part of Kyle’s anatomy. He was used to the flirting really. Ever since he’d met Kyle he’d been a flirt. The blonde knight flirted with anything female pretty much. And him but it never occurred to Frey to think anything more of it than as a characteristic of the blonde.

He shifted trying to right himself somewhat so that all the blood wasn’t going to his head. “Where are we going?” he asked finally. Wherever it was he had a feeling he was going to have to suffer through it for the day. At least he could prepare himself for whatever.

Kyle was very proud of his body, thank you very much. All the training he’d done to become the skilled swordsman and rune user that he was had managed to turn him into a very fine specimen of manhood. Or so he liked to think. And there was a lot of evidence to support this kind of thought. So he wasn’t insulted or worried when Frey stated that his butt was big. He was more amused than anything else. And with that bit of confidence, he had no problem pretending to be insulted. “Are you trying to say that my ass is fat?”

Adjusting his grip so that he could handle Frey shifting his weight around and so that he wouldn’t accidentally drop him either, Kyle couldn’t help but smile cheekily. His standard action to cure Frey’s current embarrassment was to get him to accept that it was not all that big of a deal. And to do that, there was only one solution. “We’re going babe watching!”

“I’m saying it’s in my face! And all the blood is rushing to my head, if you have to carry me around would you at least have the courtesy to make it more comfortable?” It was rare really for Frey to actually act and sound his age. He usually acted much older than those bare sixteen years, especially since the war. He was almost sounding like a demanding brat right now though, if it had been with anyone else Frey would have been embarrassed.

Frey didn’t bother to hold back the exasperated sigh, “How typical of you…you know that’s not the problem, right?” He wasn’t embarrassed at having done what he talked about yesterday. It was that he had talked about it at all and the way he’d talked about it. Something that personal wasn’t meant to be shared, not so publicly anyways. Though he had to admit if he wanted to talk to anyone about something like that he’d probably had gone to Kyle or perhaps Roy.

“I kinda thought so, but this way there’ll be a distraction while I ask you all sorts of embarrassing questions that you’d probably rather not answer right now, but that you’re going to have to because you’re probably still thinking about it and you really do need someone to talk to about it,” Kyle stated frankly, proving that there was more to him than just a mess of blonde hair and a pretty face. Most people tended to assume that, even though he was, or had been, a Queen’s Knight, that there wasn’t much else to him besides the playboy that everyone knew him to be. Though for the ones who had known him longer and who actually took the time to get to know him, they would learn that that certainly wasn’t the case. It was just a large part of who he was, but not all.

And to finish his little insightful speech, Kyle tucked one arm underneath Frey’s waist while the other tightened its hold around the top. In one quick motion, the blonde had Frey right-side up once more and had also shifted him around so now his face was fairly close to Kyle’s own, while his body was pressed up right against the blonde’s own and he was practically sitting on Kyle’s arms. “Is this better for you Prince?” he asked with a cheeky grin.

“If you insist on carrying me then I guess this is better,” Frey commented with a slight roll of his eyes. When he’d been younger Kyle had picked him up more than once, not really behaviour typical of a knight but Frey didn’t really mind. Never like this though, carrying like a bride being carried over the threshold. He sighed slightly, not quite sure what exactly Kyle wanted to talk about. But if it had to be someone it might as well be him, they’d known each other long enough. They weren’t close in age but Kyle was the probably the closest thing Frey had to a childhood friend. Lyon had been too protective of him to properly be his friend. Furthermore her gender, her interest in him, and well the fact that she was not here would prevent him from talking to her. He adored her, loved her maybe but these “man to man” talks were probably more in Kyle’s field.

“Did I not talk about it enough yesterday?” he asked petulantly, lips pulling into an uncharacteristic pout as he let himself settle in Kyle’s arms, comfortable and familiar enough to allow himself to do so. He knew the older man meant well…but it was a bit sudden. From the abrupt way he’d broken his chastity to the sudden need to discuss it, it overwhelmed him. He wasn’t asexual before but Frey had certainly never been very interested in the subject of sex. He was well aware of Luserina’s interest of him and his relationship with Lyon was…unclear but it had never been something that had to be dealt with now. Teenaged “things” were in some ways more difficult to deal with than political things for him.

“Well yeah, but it wasn’t because you wanted to, which makes all the difference,” Kyle amended. He would have shrugged, but with him carrying Frey the way he was, it wasn’t exactly the easiest thing to do, nor the most comfortable action for Frey to deal with.

They had been walking for a while now, or rather, Kyle had been walking for a while now and Frey had been carried for a while now, and they had finally reached the destination that the blonde had in mind. Not that Kyle minded carrying Frey. He wasn’t very heavy and truth be told, Kyle was a bit of a cuddle-person, showing it most often in the hugs and random pick-up he did with his friends, Frey, Lyon, and Miakis being the most sought after victims among the people of the palace. The spot the blonde had picked was in the middle of the city square, next to one of those little café places. There wasn’t anyone close by to overhear their conversation, but they weren’t alone as people were constantly passing them by, going where it was that they were going in this city.

Pulling out a chair with one foot, Kyle dropped the arm underneath Frey’s legs so that he could stand up on his own weight, but kept the other arm where it was to give the prince time to regain his footing and not just fall flat on his face. “And here we are Prince.”

“You’re serious,” Frey mumbled, pointedly not looking at Kyle. He’d been dragged more than once or twice, or even a “few” times on Kyle’s girl watching missions. He didn’t mind them but…well the situation was a bit different this time. Looking out for attractive women while talking about his first time that was definitely not with an attractive woman more than qualified as weird in Frey’s book.

The weather was warm enough now that the outdoor seating to the café was open, a few patrons sitting outside on the plastic chairs nursing coffee that smelled far too sweet. Watching the people in the City was interesting, given they were all so different, but girl watching… Frey had been rather spoiled by beautiful faces and bodies. The loyalist army had more than its fair share of attractive individuals of both genders. “…well you want to talk, so what do you want to talk about?”

“Don’t know,” Kyle admitting, taking a seat for himself. “I thought maybe you might want to get some things off your chest, but if you can’t think of anything, I’m sure I could come up with something.” Truthfully, the blonde just wanted Frey to get whatever it was that was really bothering him off his chest. He figured the stranger and the blabbing all about it were the main points that were bothering him, but unless Frey actually said so, it was only speculation and guess on the blonde’s part. So he wasn’t exactly sure how to start a conversation that would ease up Frey’s discomfort about that. So until then, he would use the time to fill-up the silence and unease with random comments about the people that passed them by.

“Off my chest?” Frey frowned, brows furrowing slightly as he thought about that. “I just…didn’t want to tell people about that. Not in such a public setting anyways. If I wanted to talk about it I would have gone to someone I was comfortable. I’m not ashamed of what happened, not really.” He wasn’t looking at Kyle, eyes following whoever happened to pass by his field of vision, it was easier this way even though it was still strange.

“…it’s bad enough being here made me feel like that unnaturally. It’s even worse that it made me talk about it to a public network before I was ready.” His shoulders dipped slightly, slumping as much as his well-trained posture would allow. The act didn’t bother him, who he had done it with didn’t bother him too much, it was the other things, the lack of control that he disliked. It left him feeling vulnerable and maybe a little violated. “But I can’t let these things get to me,” he finished stubbornly.

“Well you can’t change the past, so all you can do is just accept it,” Kyle agreed somewhat, smiling appreciatively at a passer-by. She was a cute thing with long hair and wearing a short skirt. A little on the small side, but that wasn’t so bad. It wasn’t like boobs were everything. “But it’s okay to be embarrassed about it, though sulking in your room’s not going to help you get over that embarrassment. You just need to continue on with life as normal.”

“And uh, about the whole curse making you feel that way, well, uh… At least it was mutual.” Kyle was still having a little bit of hard time grasping the fact that Frey had had sex with someone else, and a guy he didn’t even know at that. Though the main reason he avoided thinking about it too much was because it brought up the fact that Frey had also mentioned that he wondered if it would have been different had it been with someone he knew. And well… The Falenan royal family did have really attractive family members and he couldn’t really be blamed for looking…

“I know, I just didn’t want to show my face until I was composed,” it was silly. He knew it to an extent but it was also ingrained in him. Ever since he could remember he tried to strive for his mother’s wisdom and dignity, the same way he strived for his father’s strength and openness. Granted his mother probably wouldn’t be too proud of him hiding in his room.

“I’m sorry if I worried you. I’m not sure how to deal with this, I didn’t think this kind of thing would come up for a very long time.” He eyed the girl that Kyle was looking at, she was cute, a bit like Viki but not as well proportioned and without that endearing cluelessness. It was really hopeless to compare girls to some of the women he’d met in the past months.

“It was mutual but…knowing that I wouldn’t have felt that without the city’s curse makes it a bit strange. …I do regret it a little, but if I say that other people would worry and I don’t want him to feel guilty either. So I don’t say anything. Anyways, what’s done is done. I can’t forget it happened though and it just brings up all these other questions.”

“It’s just me here you know. There’s no one else who you’ve really got to impress around here,” Kyle pointed out. And even if there had been anyone else that knew of Frey and his status, besides the people apparently from the future of their own world, still odd to be thinking like that, they had only heard of him, but never met him in person. Kyle didn’t think they would fault Frey for acting a little more like a teenager every once in a while. He’d still act mostly like the Prince of Falena, but that was due to years of upbringing. Still, a pout or two wouldn’t hurt.

He wasn’t going to ask. He wasn’t going to ask. He wasn’t going to ask, damnit! Asking was bad. Asking would open up a lot of mess and trouble and stuttering and awkwardness that Kyle really didn’t want to deal with and he had just gotten Frey to actually open up and begin talking too! Asking would not be good. It wasn’t a good idea. And he was going to keep his mouth shut!

“What other kind of questions?” He had no self-control sometimes.

Frey blushed, blood rushing to his cheeks and tinting his pale skin. This was the hard part to talk about, the embarrassing part, the part he couldn’t really understand. “Like…what it would have been like with a girl?” He did wonder that, though no one came to mind who he would actually be so intimate with. He found several girls attractive but it wasn’t just about that. Attractive as Felix was if he’d had more of a choice in the matter it wouldn’t have been him.

“I did like it… It was uncomfortable and strange but it was…urgent. There was no lack in heat that I assume is necessary with that kind of intimate act. But…it wasn’t intimate. I didn’t know him and he didn’t know me. When I saw Mother and Father together, every touch seemed so sweet and meaningful. But even when I kissed him it was just a touch that felt really nice. So…I wonder what it’d have been like with someone else.”

Guh… Uh… He really shouldn’t have asked. Because, even though Kyle wasn’t one who normally thought about those kind of things, he couldn’t help but picture what Frey might have looked like during sex. He’d seen Sialeeds of course, and pictured other women. But while Sialeeds was a full-grown woman with her own charms, beauty, and needs, there was no denying the fact that Frey himself wasn’t easy on the eyes either. There was also the fact that he’d known Frey for so long and they were familiar with each other already. The reasons would be different and that would make some things rather sweeter. And so to picture him during sex…

Kyle had never been so happy as he was then that when he blushed, it wasn’t as noticeable on him as it was on other people. Clearing his throat though, the blonde did his best to push aside those kinds of thoughts and speak normally. “Well, you know it feels good even without being forced into it, otherwise so many people wouldn’t do it. But it probably would have been a lot more enjoyable if it had been with someone that you knew. Heck, even a kiss feels a lot nicer when it’s with someone you know and like.” There! Not too bad a job if he did say so himself.

Thank god it was Kyle. If it had been Miakis or something Frey was sure he would have died of sheer horror by now. Roy…well Roy would probably not listen to all that in the first place. Frey turned to look at Kyle, curiously, trying to imagine what it might be like to kiss him.

Kyle was attractive, any number of women and some men could attest to that in Falena. It wasn’t something that was hard to see, he was tall and his features an appealing balance between sharp and refined. Undoubtedly masculine even if he could be described as beautiful. But beyond that there was a lot more too. “It’d be weird,” Frey murmured thoughtfully, “if I kissed you.”

He could imagine it. Kyle would probably be good at it. Frey didn’t know what it really meant to be skilled in kissing but he was certain Kyle was seeing as the blonde probably had plenty of practice. Maybe a little too clearly, he could imagine it. “If I were to kiss you I wouldn’t do it out of curiosity,” it would mean something. “Thanks, I guess I do feel better talking about it.”

That… hadn’t exactly been the answer Kyle had been expecting. Well, not entirely. He’d been expecting the refusal and the thanks for his help, but he hadn’t been expecting the message that if Frey ever did get the idea to kiss him, it wouldn’t be because of idle curiosity. Which could mean a lot of different things if Kyle read too much into it. But he wasn’t because that would ruin a lot of things between them.

… Even if he was going to be plagued by thoughts of the like for a very long time afterwards.

“Anytime Prince,” Kyle said affectionately with a grin, falling back into his usual role of friend easily, rather than that of someone with more than just a platonic interest in mind. He was going to keep those thoughts at bay if it was the last thing he ever did.
