Log; Ongoing
When; April 7th; morning
Rating; PG-13 at the highest.
Characters; Leonidas
spartan_blood, Octavius
agustusoctavius, & anyone who is seriously interested in joining the army.
Summary; Leonidas and Octavius are recruiting for the army - time to show these guys what you can do, kiddies! Also, because of other major plottage going on today, this log/meetup is taking place in the morning, so as to prevent confusion.
Log;
The dew was still fresh on the grass and the leaves of the trees in the forest as the morning light caressed the clearing. A mist filtered through the trunks of trees, giving the place an ethereal look, and the chill spring air that would have made a normal man shiver was only a minor inconvenience to the Spartan and the Roman officer at his side. His senses were completely alert, and his blue eyes scanned the edge of the clearing, his grip on his spear firm, waiting for those who wished to join together in this common cause....or for an enemy to appear. Either one would not be unwelcome, and it would help him stretch his muscles.
Speaking of which....
"Octavius," Leonidas began, setting his heavy shield on the ground, "I am going to exercise. Care to join me?"
The Spartan king dropped to his stomach without even waiting for an answer, reaching out to grasp his shield. He dragged it across the grass towards him and managed to get it to sit on his back. Positioning himself, the king began to administer several push ups, the steel weight of his shield bearing down on him.

The green haired boy showed up waving his hand, shouting to know one in particular. "Yo! Is this where I gotta be to help out?!"

She made her way through the forest without effort, enjoying the cool morning air, the scent and sounds of plants and animals around her. Without anything to disturb them, they were peaceful.
After a good hour's walk, she finally arrived at the clearing. A quick glance revealed three people to her. As she had only contacted Leonidas through the network, she was unsure which of them was him. Thus, she decided to introduce herself first, as was more polite as well.
Nausicaa took a few steps into the clearing and bowed curtly. "I am Nausicaa, and I have come in hopes of joining the army as a protector of the City's citizens." She paused shortly. "May I ask which one of you is Leonidas?"

The German stood there silently, hands at his sides and feet together, like a soldier, waiting for Leonidas to finish his work-out.

She was in her full Zexen armor (http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a239/Coinspinner/Junk/Chrislightfellow01.jpg). He had instructed they come armed and equipped with whatever they would need and she had heeded that instruction. In addition to being in full armor, and armed with her sword, she had brought some necessities. There wasn't much; she merely brought food and drinks - if someone were to be injured (and she hoped none of them would require drastic attention), there was basic first aid and if it proved to be fatal, her rune.
She was set.

"You got a regiment for us to follow, or are we to do our own?" he asked, kneeling to where Leonidas was.
And the speeches start....
One, two, three, four, five... he counted. That's it? Only five? This City has more cowards than I thought.
"...This is all the 'great' City has to offer? Hmph," he muttered to Octavius.
"Be grateful that you arrived here on time," the king said, his powerful voice biting into the peaceful silence. "Anyone who arrives late once official training is started will have to do double the regimen. And I don't care if you're man or woman, you will do it. That is the price a warrior pays for arriving to his duty with such untolerated lateness.
"I am Leonidas, king of Sparta, and this," he gestured to Octavius, "is Augustus Octavius, my second-in-command. You will listen to everything he tells you. The only person he is answerable to is me. If I believe he is being unfair or taking advantage of his own power, I will deal with him accordingly.
"So. You are all here because you want to protect the City," he continued. "Is that right?"

For the moment, Riou was content to simply watch and gather information.
Re: And the speeches start....
"That is correct."
Re: And the speeches start....
Gaius...OctaviusOctavius, after seeing Leonidas stand, did so as well. He'd been doing that a lot, it seemed, but it didn't matter. Right now the only thing that was supposed to be on his mind was the army and recruiting for it.
Five people. Only two more than had showed up the last time he'd tried to recruit. Pathetic.
Octavius muttered something in return, but it was so quite it probably wouldn't have been understood anyway. After the recent happenings in the city, the Roman was in no mood to put up with anything, really. And things weren't exactly going their way.
Octavius nodded as he was introduced, eyeing the five that stood before them, and praying to himself that more would show up.

Moved quickly as he could thru the trees without looking like potential prey. Coming to the edge of meeting spot, heard Leonidas growling about lateness and the punishment for it.

He gave Octavius a quick look, waiting to see if he was ready or not.
