Log;

She'd found it awkward that the strange silver-haired boy had still considered her company, even after she had scolded him. She knew she hadn't known him for more than a few days, yet she couldn't help but feel concerned for him for all the things he was saying. He seemed as though he was out of sorts and didn't even want to begin to imagine what was going through his head.

All this talk about reunions, and his Mother and... it didn't make any sense.

With a small sigh, she pulled her cloak around her and walked on out to the carousel, where she said she'd meet him. She wasn't looking forward to looking into the fountain, but if it was to be, she wasn't going to argue it. Perhaps, she thought... it would be a good way to show Kadaj something to calm him down.

If it didn't tense him up already, that is.

Moving a hand up to her hair, she combed it back, looking around her as she waited for the silver-haired young man to arrive...

I hope this works...

According to one of the books, the Fountain could connect you back to your own world. Sometimes it would show some unpleasant memories. Kadaj smirked; memories were something he wasn't afraid of. He had come to the carousal a little early, wanting to observe his new pawn. He sat in a nearby tree branch, well hidden from anyone's view; unless someone actually bothered to look. He couldn't trust the female fully; she was after all still a human. He remembered plainly the betrayal of Rufus ShinRa when he had Mother hidden underneath his clock the entire time.

His hands clenched into fists, knuckles turning white. Mother had been so close to him. The words that Rufus spoke after, "A good son would have known," made his stomach wrench in anger. Then he grinned bitterly, knowing that one day, when Mother had control again, Rufus would be the one to suffer the most.

Mako-green eyes narrowed on the human female who had come to show him the fountain. She was beautiful, by human standards; although that did not say much, and Kadaj had no interest in such things.

There was another reason he wanted to bring her out here. Perhaps he could convince her to look into the fountain too. He could gather valuable information about her that might become useful later on.

His fingers dug into the bark. How could this all have happened? He remembered the last thing he heard was a voice telling him to let go. Foolishly, he automatically believed it was Mother's. In hindsight, the voice triggered a memory that was not his own; but he knew that the Planet had tricked him. He inhaled deeply, "Time to play nice," he whispered to himself.

Kadaj dropped gracefully from the tree, strolling up the woman and staring at her intently through his silver fringes. "Hello," he said evenly.

It was not unusual for people to stare. He was quite used to it. People always feared him and his brothers whenever they even remotely near a town. Although it was his firm belief that it was simply due to the fact that they looked so much like Sephiroth. People called him a nightmare, a horrible terror and a disgrace for ShinRa. He and his brother's often used this to their advantage, and almost never met any sort of resistance from a human.

"Bonjour, Kadaj." she greeted. "Did I make you wait long?"

His spine stiffened; how did she know he waited when it was him who approached her? "No," he said abruptly, almost angry. He glanced over his shoulder back to tree. Kadaj was certain it had enough branches and leaves to completely hide his presence. He released a low growl; obviously he made a mistake somewhere.

He realized if his brothers had been around (Yazoo most likely), would have caught his error. And Loz always found the best hiding spots. Maybe that's because he loved playing Hide and Seek so often. His eldest brother could never resist any sort of game.

Kadaj, although often cruel and unrelenting to anyone, including his brothers, suddenly realized how important they truly were as a team and how much he missed them.

"Let's go," his tone hurried and rushed. He reached out, grabbing her firmly by the wrist and dragging her along. The sooner he got answers from the fountain, the sooner he could be reunited with his Brothers or Mother.

Kadaj did not acknowledge Belle's small struggle. His fingers clasped even more tightly around her wrist. He set fourth, utterly determined that this fountain would give him the end all answers that he had been looking for.

"Hn..." his lips curved into a smooth smile. Kadaj abruptly stopped, releasing her from his vice grip. He pivoted on his heel to face Belle, silver hair fanning about his head for just a moment. Kadaj inched uncomfortably close, elliptical slited pupils focusing solely on her as he treated her to a manic grin. "My eyes cannot be deceived," he chuckled in a near childlike manner.

If it was one thing Kadaj understood, it was memories. His sole purpose was to live up to the legacy of a fallen memory. Sephiroth refused to be one, refused to be forgotten, never backing down. Sephiroth lived through Kadaj, through his brothers. It was through sheer Will that the Remnants were 'born'.

Kadaj had memories, he knew, not to be his own. Vague memories... fire... mako reactors. He could see them, feel them, and truly experience them in his mind as if he were the one who actually created that memory. Although he'd never admit it, he sometimes failed to tell the difference on what he created, and what Sephiroth had created.

But Kadaj hadn't felt the ex-general's presence since he had arrived here. It was truly a liberating feeling. On the down side, Mother's voice had also gone silent. But his obsession to find her would not cease. His very being compelled him to complete the Reunion; and absolutely nothing will stop him from obtaining that goal. Certainly not some false memories.

Kadaj's grin did not fade as Belle side stepped and began walking ahead. He entertained the idea that maybe his eyes had frightened her. Now she was trying to act tough like it didn't faze her. He followed closely in her shadow, although not with such haste as before. He had calmed down a little.

"You shouldn't be so overconfident, Kadaj. This place has a way of surprising us."

In a gesture of sharp cynicism, Kadaj shrugged his shoulders exaggeratedly. Obviously she had idea that he had been born from a God. Or at least that was Sephiroth's preferred title. Belle knew so little, and yet she was so willing to help him; even after Kadaj threatened to skewer her if she became an obstacle between him and the Reunion.

Is she simply just too trusting and stupid? Or is she smarter than she appears? I'll need to a close watch on her.

Kadaj's eyes widened, feline-like pupils nearly oval with excitement. "Look! There it is!" He sprinted past her, not wanting to waste anymore time. The Fountain didn't look like any fountain Kadaj had seen before. It was huge, with colored lights flashing beneath its waters, and several sprouts bursting into the sky.

"You go first," Kadaj ordered, pushing Belle closer to the Fountain. He wanted to see how it worked first. But also wondered what she would see. Since they were here anyway, it'd be a good idea to learn enough about Belle's likes, fears, weaknesses, or strengths so he may turn them in the direction of his desires.... should the need ever arise.

[OOC: Sorry this took so long. I'm preparing for my first Con this weekend ^_^)
