Characters; afleetingshadow, (Namine) super_ninjagirl (Yuffie) , andsenbon_shinobi (Genma) Summary; Yuffie and Namine head out to Cafe Juliet for cake. Afterwards, they head to Genma's to play in the fort. :)
Log; Yuffie had instantly jumped at the idea to go out for cake. After all, Cafe Juliet made some of the best cakes around, including that soda cake.

So after a quick stop at Yuffie's apartment to get some munny, they were merrily on their way. Upon reaching the cafe doors, she pushed them open, temporarily leting go of Namine. Once inside, she grabbed the small hand in hers again, and led them to an empty table.

Namine laughed as she was dragged to the table, her sandals streaking against the floor. She grabbed out a table for them, pushing out a chair for Yuffie and then one for herself, smoothing her skirt like she saw Kairi did once before.

"Just order two chocolate cakes for us, okay, Yuffie?" she said excitedly, the sugar from the lollipop rushing through her veins. She felt great: she hadn't really run around the City a lot, and it was nice that Yuffie wanted to do this with her.

Yuffie nodded happily. "Okay!" She hopped up into her chair, and waved at a nearby waittress. After placing the order for two small individual chocolate cakes, she dug in the pocket of her (now slightly too big) shorts for the munny, and handed it over.

It was nice. Namine didn't seem to get out much, so it was probably a good thing she dragged the girl out with her.

Namine smiled as the waitress disappeared with a clicking of her high heels. She looked down at the floor, noticing how small she was compared to when the last time she'd been here.

"Thanks," she said to Yuffie, her eyes bright with the sugar. She was finding it really hard to keep still, but she wanted to look nice and grown-up like Kairi. "I really wanted to come here with someone...instead of just me."

Yuffie just grinned. Sugar made her more hyper than usual, which is why everyone back home tried to limit her access to candy and stuff. Not that it did any good. She always found it, and proceeded to bounce off the walls regardless.

"You're welcome! And it's always more fun to come out with someone other than yourself!" Never one to keep still, she was kicking her feet and bobbing her head from side to side.

The waitress came back with their cakes, setting them down, and leaving just as quickly as she came.

Laughing, Yuffie picked up her fork. "Dig in! Bone appeteet, or something like that."

(ooc: But angst is Namine's forte, chibi or no! Hence, she sticks with Yuffie, she'll brighten up in no time. XD )

Namine tried to keep up with Yuffie's movements, but she gave up, looking down at her cake with a small smile on her face. She picked up her fork, taking a small bite.

It was better than she remembered. It tasted better every time she came back. After a while, she stopped trying to take small bites and cut the cake into bigger pieces. It was drying out her mouth, but she didn't care until she stopped eating. She had some munny with her...

"Hey, do you want some soda?" she asked, her lips stained with frosting. "I've got some munny left..."

Yuffie looked up from her plate, stuffing the last bit into her mouth, which was smeared with frosting.

It had been a good sized piece, and she knew Leon or Aerith would've had a fit if they had seen her do that,and Cid would've just chuckled and patted her on the head, making some remark about her being a botomless pit. Which made oday even more exciting, no one was here to tell her not to do that, or remind her of manners.

She swallowed, and nodded. Soda was fine by her. "Sure! I want a root beer, okay?" The cake had been really good, but it made her thirsty.

"That was fast!" Namine said, laughing and subtly pointing at her own mouth so Yuffie would know to wipe up.

Namine waved in a small fashion when the waitress came by. "We'll have a root beer and a vanilla soda too, please," she said softly with a smile. The waitress nodded and clicked away again.

"I eat fast!" Yuffie blinked when Namine pointed to her mouth, then nodded in understanding. She vigorously rubbed her mouth with her napkin.

The waitress reappeared with the drinks, and set them down.

Yuffie immediately tugged the rootbeer towards her, pushing the vanilla soda towards Namine.

Namine only laughed again, nodding her thanks to the waitress as she pushed the vanilla soda towards her.

She drank as if she'd never drunken in her life. She had to stop occassionally to let the bubbles pop away on her mouth, to stop the fizziness from completely stopping her throat.

Yuffie drank her soda steadily, stopping every now and then to take a breath. She let out a couple of small burps, and promptly excused herself.

When she finished, she wiped her mouth again, and hopped down, waiting for Namine to finish.

Namine smiled and finished the last of her soda, sticking her straw in spare places between the ice to drink the last of it. When she was done, she glanced up, her limbs full of energy.

"Where's Genma at?" she asked. "I'll race you there!"

Yuffie frowned thoughtfully. "I dunno."

She perked up again. "But I can find out!" She flexed puny muscles. "I'm not the greatest ninja ever for nothing! Come on!" With that, she raced out the cafe, Namine close beside her.

Once outside, she looked around. Genma hadn't exactly told her where he was at. Oh well. She headed towards building 4.

Namine ran after Yuffie, getting dirt in her sandals. Kairi would be mad at her, but after a while, they'd put them in the washing machine and they'd be all new again.

They came to a new building Namine hadn't been to before. She slowed down a little, letting Yuffie win.

"This is where Gemna is, Yuffie?" she asked. Kairi had told her to be careful around the City and this building was new, so she was a little scared of it.

Yuffie walked through the front door. "Yep!" She looked around. "He's in one of these apartments."

She took ahold of Namine's hand again, squeezing it. "Don't worry. We'll be okay. Just stick with me."

Yuffie walked passed a few apartments, before stopping at Number 12. "I think this is it. " She raised a tiny fist and knocked.

Namine tensed up a little despite Yuffie's reassurance that things were going to be okay. She waited for the door to open, tugging at the ends of her skirt uselessly.

The door opened up and she looked with wide eyes into the inside of the building, trying to see where Gemna was...

Hearing a knock at the door, Genma ran over and flung it open, trying to look tough as he looked at the two girls on the other side. "Yo," he greeted. "Uh. Come in, I guess," he shrugged. What else was he supposed to say to them? He wasn't really sure.

"We built a fort," he announced, shutting the door behind Yuffie and Namine. "With all the blankets in the apartment. It's awesome," he grinned, looking rather proud of himself.

Yuffie looked around at the apartment. It was indeed an awesome fort. She stared at it. "Wow! That's so cool!" She walked over to inspect it. They had used all the blankets and pillows to make a rather impressive fort.

She looked back at Genma, and then dug in her pocket for a moment. She produced a slightly mushy mini candy bar. "You want it?" It was the least she could do. After all, most boys didn't let girls play with them.

Namine had to stand on tiptoes to look past Yuffie into the fort. It really was amazing. She hadn't ever seen anything like it before. Pillows and blankets as far as the eye could see...

"It's great!" she chirped, looking happily at it. "Can we go inside, Yuffie?"

"I think so. But that's up to Genma. It's his house."

She looked back at the blond boy. "Can we? We promise not to mess it up or anything."
