Log; Unfinished
When; Last night
Rating; G
Characters; Lyra [
lyra_of_dust], Kamui [
fateisabitch], & Nill [
caged_song]
Summary; Kamui invites Nill to stay with Lyra and himself that night.
Log;
Nill motioned forward toward the two puppies, padding beside her and following her loyally. Ama and Miya hadn't been any trouble the other day and Roger (the duckling that had taken a liking to her) had seemingly enjoyed their company as well. They reached the apartment door and Nill knocked lightly, hoping that it would be loud enough for Kamui or Lyra to hear.
She bent down and petted the dogs absent mindedly, as the girl waited for the door to open.

Of course, he'd forgotten entirely that Nill would have the puppies with her, and as soon as he opened the door, he found himself on the floor again with a yelp. Thanks to Ama. Who had apparently temporarily forgotten her training and tackled him with all her near-fifty pound weight so she could lick him silly. "Ah!" he squirmed as Miya joined in, being the smaller of the dogs, but just as happy to see him, "Heeelp~" It was embarrassing to be owned by your own dogs, but...

"Hello Nill!"

It was encouraging to see Lyra and Kamui doing well, considering the string of recent events.

"And bad Imouto, too. Laughing at me..." he pouted playfully and shoved her a little, but gently, feeling somehow happier with both of his girl friends around. Not as happy as when he was with Jowy, but... happy enough. They were safe here.

"But big brother, it was so funny!" Lyra told him as she struggled to her feet.
"Nill, get inside. We can have tea, or something," And get everyone inside, so they could sit down and talk.

Tea sounded nice, Mister Az was quite fond of tea so it was a familiar drink. Her wings fluttered slightly at the prospect of having something to drink. Now that she thought about it...she was kind of thirsty. Although she didn't want to admit it, she had spent most of the previous night in a sort of fright.
The picture...would have seemed harmless. But the memory it jolted was painful...it made her wonder. If she had stayed there longer...would they have done something of the sort to her? Would they have cut open her head and...let's not think about that...Nill bit her lip, keeping herself from following that train of thought.
There were people here that cared for her, the scientists wouldn't come here...she would be fine...just fine.

"I'm glad you decided to come, Nill," he whispered into her ear gently, pulling away with a kind smile and a pat of the head. "We'll have feed you too." Carefully, he took her hand and started to lead her further into the apartment, looking back, "Have you had dinner yet? Or is just a snack okay?"

"And Kamui's been teaching me how to cook so- I can help!" she added proudly, scratching Ama behind the ears.
"I'm glad you're hear, Nill. I think everything- everything is going to be more peaceful now. I mean after that fight... I'm sure that by the third, everything will get better... And then Pan will be back," she sighed happily. Having the other part of herself so far away for so long was almost painful, and was certainly draining.

Dinner? Nill hadn't quite thought about that...Come to think of it, she hadn't eaten dinner, but she wasn't quite that hungry as well. She shook her head, signaling that she hadn't had dinner. The girl had a small appetite after all...A snack should be fine...although...she did kind of want to try Lyra's cooking.
Nill nodded in agreement to Lyra. Everything would be better...wouldn't it?

He had to try to stay positive, though. He had thought about it, and really, that's what Jowy would want him focusing on. Jowy didn't want him to be sad anymore; and besides, he also had to stay strong for Lyra. At least until she got Pan back.
"So..." they entered the kitchen, Kamui quickly mussing Lyra's hair playfully as he finally let go of Nill's hand. "What should we make Nill?" He started going through the fridge, taking stock of what they had.

"And we should save some for Jowy and Riou... Maybe the smell will wake 'em up," she joked. There wasn't any need to voice her concerns... Everyone knew them, so she had to act as cheerful as she could possibly act.

She smiled reassuringly to the both of them. Nill rolled up her sleeves, signaling that she would help out as much as she could. They'd make the best cookies ever...and then Mister Jowy and Mister Riou would definitely wake up, because it'd be so yummy they couldn't resist.

Without further ado, he set out bowls, measuring cups, and ingredients. "Um... who wants to do what?" It didn't take three people to make cookies...

Lyra beamed happily. Besides Jowy being unconscious for days, and Pan being gone, and the nonstop curses, everything was going pretty well.

It already seemed like nothing was wrong...and nothing had been wrong. The girl liked that feeling and hoped it would last for a long time.

Of course, as his life went... not everything could be easy: the flour, being the last thing he was going to measure, decided to be stubborn. "Ah..." he gasped, confused, as a puff of flour suddenly became airborne, coating him with a powdery white. All in all, he just looked very confused at the moment, blinking and trying to figure out why it'd done that.

"It goes in the cups, not on you~" she admonished him as she began mixing the first ingredients together.

She smiled gleefully, spirits instantly brighter than before, and to a truer note.

He paused as if he was going to take a moment to wipe himself clean, but then... changed his mind. Instead, he took a small fistful of flour and threw it at Lyra to dust her as well. Revenge.

She peered eagerly over Lyra's shoulder, quite pleased to see that it looked very yummy already.

"Hmm..." with the very tip of a spoon, he scooped up a little of the dough, tasting it despite it being still raw. "It's..." he chewed a chocolate chip, looking up as if contemplating, "I think it's good." All they needed to do now was spoon them on the sheet and bake them.
