[log] [ongoing]
When; June 14
Rating; PG-13
Characters; Sohma Akito [
caging] & Kagura Sohma [
kagura_theboar] Open to other Sohmas, should they wish to intervene ♥
Summary; Feeling strong enough once again, Akito feels he must address the growing rift between God and the boar.
Log;
The room was dark and sparsely furnished. It looked completely empty, actually, if not for the futon in the middle of the room. There was only one source of light and even then that source was simply a small crack between two heavy curtains. Akito sat on the floor underneath this window. The dying daylight that filtered through the small allowance in the curtain above him made the frown on his face plainly visible and almost sinister.
"It's been a while, hasn't it? My health prevented me from paying much attention to you..." Akito began conversationally without even giving the young woman a glance. "I hope you weren't too lonely, after all, there's only the four of us together in this new place." In all honesty, he didn't much care. He barely knew Kagura and they rarely saw each other. It was probably a good thing that he'd never had much problem with the child. The words were mostly what he thought would be best said at that moment.
"Sit down, please. Let us talk, Kagura." There was a glint, coming from the knife in his hand. He set it down beside him, right where Kureno would have been if he were around. No, not now. He told himself he shouldn't think of Kureno now, and he wouldn't. Tonight, there were issues that needed to be discussed with Kagura.
Namely, her distance.
Akito told himself he would rectify that. If they hadn't had much of a relationship before, then he would draw her closer.

"What do you wish to talk about?" she asked in a low voice.
The wall she had built to keep the others out was still there. The distance had grown and the chasm was ever widening.

"Nothing in particular?" Akito said and he busied himself with the knife beside him, tracing its hilt with morbid fascination. This felt suffocating. Oddly. He didn't like it. The thought repeated in his mind over and over until he spoke again and the sound of his voice drowned out the fearful chant in his mind. "How are you?" he began in this question and then followed with some idle chatter. "Hatori told me you had had a difficult time... I am feeling gracious... that I would wish to listen to whatever it is that's troubling you."
In all honesty, he was suspicious. What was it? He could not even begin to have an idea right now.
Even if there was that feeling that he did not like at all.

"Before any of you arrived here. The Deities of this place forced the citizens to pay a price in order to ensure the safety of our homeworlds...I gave up my bond with you and the others as payment to them. I didn't know if they would really follow through with their threats but I couldn't chance it..." she trailed off remembering the emptiness yet relishing the freedom. "The bond has been restored... the spirit is with me again...but it feels disconnected."
If he were going to lash out at her then she wouldn't stop him. She just didn't have the strength to fight anymore.

"Disconcerted? I want more explanation," he said and then paused to think. "Honestly, Kagura, I don't think that is all. I want everything."

"The bond was broken for over a month...though I felt the emptiness sharply...I was not cursed. Now that the spirit has returned it no longer feels apart of me...it feels like we are two sharing one body."

It took a while but eventually the thoughts spilled, coming out from his mouth without any further thought. The words were shouted, dripping with anger. A finger was pointed accusingly at the girl as Akito rose up from the floor. "You wanted to break the bond, didn't you?! You wanted to break it like that woman-" Unbidden realization hit. They were with her. "Did you want to? Did you listen to that woman? Answer me! Answer me!"

Her head was beginning to hurt. She could feel the tears forming in her eyes. "I only wanted all of you to be able to live..."
no subject
"I see it!" He screamed. "You- you dared-" he couldn't let any more of them leave. Kureno, Momiji, Hiro and Hatsuharu... Gone. They hated him. Hated him. He couldn't let them break away and leave him. "I don't care for your reasons! I won't let you leave anymore until you've realized your mistake!"
no subject
Her head was pounding now. It felt like her skull would split open at any moment. "Do as you will! It doesn't matter anymore," she managed to sob out her as she grapsed her head.

He covered the distance between them and then was struck by an odd realization as he stood before the cowering child. He quieted down and his breathing eased. "Kagura?" he began, barely able to contain the sudden glee. Yes, yes, how could he not have seen this? This was good too. Kagura was helpless and here he was. He pulled the sleeves of his haori together, to keep one side from falling down his slender shoulder. Then, he knelt down and gently placed a hand over the boar's head.
"Shall I forgive you, Kagura? Will you promise to be good from now on if I forgive you?"
no subject
"I will. I promise I'll be good," she said in a small voice.
no subject
"Good. You will stay with me when I call for you. You will ask for my permission when you want to go out. Am I clear?"
no subject
"Crystal," she replied in a small voice.
