Which one has the ace?

Log:

He smiled as he lit one of his long brown cigarettes. He had not survived to see the butler in action, but the Major had painted quite the picture. The unstoppable man, who ran through rains of bullets and bombs without a scratch, who used the most innocuous of objects to cut through bodies and blood. What would such a man be like with the power of the immortal nightwalkers behind him?

He snapped the lighter shut and exhaled the smoke through his nose. He rather fancied that it sounded a lot like him.

Dead innocents. A fool who thought to undo a judgment. A witch who thought to rub salt in Ran's wound. An angel whose idea of commiseration was vicious.

And one of Millennium's pawns to play that frustration out with.

Walter had seen Alhambra's fight - televised live from Brazil.

He'd been mostly unimpressed, but the Dandy had managed to injure Alucard in a manner that had caught the vampire's attention, and that had caught Walter's.

His footsteps clicked sharply on the sidewalk, and his own cigarette flared brighter as he sucked in a lungful of air and slowly released it before a flicker passed in front of Alhambra's face. Just an greeting to snip the tip off the other vampire's cigarette.

This man was smarm personified.

"Let's see if you have any new tricks, Dandy. I know I do."

Walter called to mind what he knew of Alhambra from Alucard and Seras' debriefing, as well as the TV footage - fast, exceptional regenerator under mosts circumstances, the cards were anything but ordinary. He could expect explosions, virtual teleportation, and of course, sharp edged slice and dice.

If only he were alive - the prospect would be enough to get Walter's blood moving.

Walter was curious about the cards, but not so cocky as to think that merely cutting them up would suffice. Not after what he knew Alhambra could do with them.

The vampire leaped high into the air, a swirl of wire flashing out below him like an inverted tornado, slashing into the cards that had been flying at his former position.

Walter almost appeared to fly away from the explosion under his own power. At least to one who didn't notice the quick flick of wire that wrapped around a light pole and provided him with the leverage he needed to jerk himself well away from the explosion.

Quick flicks of wire snatched flying debris out of the air and sent them hurtling like projectiles at his opponent.

After all, they were just getting warmed up.

Walter rebounded off an apartment wall and launched himself upward, light flashing around him as he ascended.

Let the gambler make his move. Walter was interested to see what came next.

And now those flashes of light became more clear as what they were, molecule-thin filaments of wire in an ever-shifting sphere of protection.

The cards were reduced to confetti while another quick flick changed the direction Walter was traveling before Alhambra could try another exploding card trick.

As though Walter hadn't noticed that.

"Come now, Dandy, you can do better than that," Walter taunted, pulling a chunk of wall out of the building to throw between himself and the cards.
