Summary; A fond meeting of old family gone sour.
Log;

It wasn't long. Only moments after they'd spoken over the network, something of which Közi was still not entirely fond, the vampire stepped into view from sheer nothingness. He knew Yu~ki to be here, their connection was strong enough to be sensed with his barriers still in place, and with the slightest allowance he was more than capable of pinpointing him exactly.

He did not speak as he approached, nor did he regard him with any immediate manner of respect. He should have, and well knew it, but pride did not let him. The single healthy eye bore at Yu~ki directly -- the other was still masked beneath a makeshift cloth patch. While it was recovering well enough, he'd not fed again since his run in with the Corinthian - and so the eye was taking time to heal entirely.

He halted a few feet away, and waited.

And the barriers were again up in full so soon as the other appeared - he was no fool, and would if anything err on the side of caution. He stood from where he sat then - offering the slightest bow as propriety overruled all for the time being despite everything - especially when he was at a disadvantage as such. Once straightened he stared back a moment, eyebrow lifting as he noted the patch. "A new fashion trend, dear Közi?"

He didn't wish to prolong the matter any further than needed however, and as such nodded and pressed on. "The manner of this place?"

It was a simple enough request.

The first inquiry went ignored, his own head not so much as inclining in response even to the Earl's bow. He knew that what leverage he had would be lost upon explaining things, but ... at the same time, he saw no reason to need it. Mana was not present, and the man held no real power over him here..

"The City." its name. "Creatures and beings of all worlds, living and dead. Multitudes of power, language - those of different eras, the past, the present - the future. Its true purpose is unknown though speculation suggests it plays some part in the ultimate end of all worlds."

The lack of proper reply was noted - but he did not so much as scowl. The young would do as they pleased no matter what... A faint smile ghosted his features, but he nodded and listened intently to his answers nonetheless.

... He had no real reason to think the other lying - especially so as to their positions at the moment. "It is quite the far-fetched idea for a place. There is no knowledge then as to the why or how..." He frowned - speculating for a moment. "I can only assume that others arrive much as I have, then?"

"Through death, through 'portals', some merely wake up here. It seems random enough, as some have determined. Everyone's received one of those -" a vague gesture to the other's laptop - "and can use it to communicate."

He paused, regarding him for a moment, and then continued - almost taunting. "Harker -- he's here, as well."

"Interesting enough." He again nodded, glancing to the laptop before back at the other - and paused.

"What bearing has that on anything?" Oh, but it did have such bearing and the anger welled up momentarily--but it was quelled just as quickly, his voice as flat as it had ever been as he continued. "Mister Harker is the only other from our world?"

"I don't know. You've a closer relation to him than I, in many senses," .. a pause, however, at Yu~ki's inquiry. There was a moment of silence, his gaze hardening, acutely aware of the fact that the other well knew of the question's implications.

"Yes."

"... She is not here, then." No mention of the other whatsoever - truthfully, he was quite far from Yu~ki's mind so soon as she had entered it. "I do not know why I expected her to be. That would of course be far too easy..."

If anything, he was murmuring to himself - but then paused, frowning slightly. "... Pardon my manners."

"They were wed." Stoic as ever, save for the burning gaze still carefully shielded behind his hair.

An actual start of surprise at this - the first outward show of it since the beginning. "... I see."

"Certainly not the circumstances I expected..."

"As far as I know, she turned him. I assume that he allowed it."

Again, the faintest of nods. He wasn't quite stunned - he was far too long in the world for much of anything to manage that anymore.

"Of course, this is primarily my own speculation .. though I believe most of it to be fairly accurate."

He watched him for some time, and the continued - tone a bit more subdued.

"Klaha knew nothing of his fate. Can you tell me differently?"

He was silent several moments in thought - before shaking his head. "No. I cannot."

He lifted his head from where his gaze had lowered to the floor - peering across at Közi once more. "Forgive me, but I know nothing."

"Do not dare ask forgiveness of me."

His eyes narrowed minutely at this. "It is too late, for I have already dared."

"And you will receive nothing. Are we quite through?"

"I required nothing of him." It was simple enough.

"I'll hear none of your lies." His tone had fallen now, dangerously low - the anger flaring evidently. His usual guard was falling with the usual rage that Yu~ki so commonly wrought within him.

"I am many things child, but a liar I am not." His lip curled slightly. "What reason have I of lying?"

"I don't know. I know your reasoning for nothing - I know not why or how you claimed him. Perhaps you merely desire an ally in this place, but I tell you now, it will not be me."

"I have no need for it. I simply do not enjoy when others entertain falsehoods about me. Know this though, that I am telling truth when I say I required, nor requested nothing. I simply accepted what was offered." His own voice had lowered, but only slightly - and he moved to sit again.

"Though yes - if the conversation is going to continue as such, then we are quite through."

".." The younger fell quiet, fists clenching and unclenching in some manner of forced restraint as he considered the other's words.

.. "Why did you ever agree to change me."

"What reason had I at the time to refuse you, Közi?"

"I don't know."

And he hated to admit it, but he didn't - as it was, he'd had none other than Mana to teach him after he'd left Yu~ki - and it was becoming strongly apparent that he likely hadn't been the best candidate for the job.

"There was none." All the same... "I knew not how you fared either, until I came to London. Only that you were still about."

The faintest of smiles - though at the irony, if anything. "Imagine my surprise."

It was apparent as the weight of the situation began to settle upon him, and he was struggling to offer some coherent response - something not comprised of blind anger, or hurt.

"You should never have come."

"Pardon me then young sir, for falling victim to seeing my late wife alive once more." His voice was not without its bitterness; though he fell silent after that.

"She wasn't yours. She wasn't the same - as much as you could have wished it."

"Realized far too late to remedy it."

You ruined everything in coming -- but there was nothing more he could say, nothing that would change the fact now.

There was a vague gesture to his own, bandaged eye. "This City houses many hunters. Be wary of where you feed." His tone suggesting that he did not intend to stay much longer, at all.

A faint nod. "Fair enough, though if there are that many then they will already begin hunting me." Insinuations at best.

A silence. "Thank you for the information."

"I claimed three victims, though none were injured or killed - and have faced assault and a number of threats for it, already."

A bit of annoyance sept into his tone, though it was overpowered for the most part, the desire to keep himself closed off to the other far stronger than it.

"Do you require any more of me?"

"Three are dead." Simply enough; he noted the tone but of it, said nothing.

"No.I have spoken my piece and you have told me what I wished to know. And for it, as I said, you have my thanks. But yes, that is all."

And without another word Közi nodded - idle affirmation rather than any polite gesture - before turning on his heel to start from the room. He would leave normally, were there no threat - and he did not expect it as Yu~ki was now.

His own nod and he simply leaned forward slightly, head bowed - ignoring the other simply because yes he was leaving, but he was also lost in his thoughts. It was a lot to process - though it would be a rather short while before he would do anything of substance.
