LOG: ON-GOING
When; June 28, Morning/Afternoon
Rating; G, probably
Characters; Uchiha Obito (
crybabyninja) & Hatake Kakashi (
ichakashi)
Summary; After Kakashi picks up Obito and they both catch up, Obito takes a minute to reflect on everything he's just heard.
Log;
Obito didn't know what to make of everything. For a few minutes he just seemed to stare, speechless, to a distance space in Kakashi's apartment. His comrade had picked him up earlier that day and Kakashi had spent hours upon hours talking - it was probably the most Obito had heard him talk in a while. Still, their teacher becoming Yondaime and Kakashi getting his own team of Genin-turned-Chuunin, save for Naruto, he learned, was a lot of take in. And what with The City being added into the equation, it was no wonder that the goggled ninja needed a few minutes to gather himself.
A question. He needed to ask one, but what would be good? Usually the one to talk his mouth off, Obito found it surprising that he actually couldn't find anything to say. His eyes drifted toward his aged team mate as he took a short, but deep breath, letting out the only thought he had in mind.
"So how's it like back in Konoha? Is it still the same?"

Obito didn't know what to make of everything. For a few minutes he just seemed to stare, speechless, to a distance space in Kakashi's apartment. "So how's it like back in Konoha? Is it still the same?"

The silver shifted slightly as he sat on his green couch, and slumped back against the cushion. He stared lazily at Obito, his grey eye not wanting to remove itself from his companion; he was still getting over the fact the other boy was here, in the flesh. He exhailed before answering his question,
"Pretty much, yeah. Ichiraku is still around..." he smiled fondly under his mask, "Remember when sensei used to take us there after sparring?"
no subject
"But then you'd yell at me for slurping too loud!" Though he yelled a little, his voice was filled with nothing but nostalgia as he craned his head back to sit on the couch behind him. "You were such a pain..."
no subject
"I was more than a pain. I was a total jerk."
The jounin had felt so much remorse when Obito had died, and often wondered why the raven had bothered saving him. Kakashi should have been the one to die, not him. There had always been that pang of regret. And despite going to visit the other at the stone, he had never forgiven himself for letting such a thing happen.
"I better say this in case you go again..." A deep sigh emerged from Kakashi's throat as he stared down at the cream carpet, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry for everything."
no subject
"What--" He tried his best not to choke as he forced out a laugh. "What're you saying, Kakashi? It wasn't your fault."
The last thing he wanted to remember was how he died. He was sure Kakashi felt the same.
no subject
"Please just... accept my appology, Obito."
He breathed hard through his nose, and slowly composed himself once again.
no subject
"...But it really wasn't your fault."
His voice was hushed as he recalled the scene. The enemy calling out. They were running. Kakashi falling. He did what he had to. His body just moved that way.
"I don't blame you for anything."
no subject
Part of him wanted to comfort, and be comforted by the Uchiha, but the logical side of his brain fought the idea. It seemed needy of him, and he inwardly cursed for being weak. It was just still so hard to believe Obito was there... with him...
After a few moments silence, Kakashi lifted his gaze, staring at the boy intently. A small smile rose on his handsome features. "...Your gift was never baggage to me, by the way."
no subject
He couldn't help but wonder if his hair had always been that silver. He really looked different, setting aside the obvious age difference. Still, he found it nice to be with him in this strange place.
"See? What did I tell you?" Listening to him, Obito found himself cracking a true smile between those cheeks of his. "How is it holding up for you?"
no subject
"These days, they call me 'copy-cat' or 'copy-nin' Kakashi. Maa, I think they grew bored of 'White Fang's brat'." The male smiled with his eyes to lighten the situation moreso. "I would seriously be dead without this by now."
no subject
"'Copy-Nin' Kakashi?" There was a heartfelt laugh from his side of the room. "I'm surprised no one calls you a cyclops with your one eye."
no subject
"Nah, they just call me a pervert instead. Which is far worse than being called cyclops." he mused.
no subject
Obito was definitely learning a few new things about a fairly old compainion. Amused at the nickname, he couldn't help but prod a bit into the subject. "Do your students call you that?"
no subject
Kakashi folded his arms looking up thoughtfully. "I don't see anything wrong with reading Icha Icha in public though."
no subject
Then, regaining some form of composure, he continued his questions. "Don't tell me 'Icha Icha' is one of those weird books, Kakashi."
Could that young Kakashi, the one who was so quick to enforce rules, reading dirty material? Not that he would know what was in them, of course.
no subject
"Weird books? There's nothing weird about a good piece of erotic literature. They're very entertaining, and action packed, and..." he took a moment to sigh in his almost fanboyish glee, "Romantic."
Yes, it was true that the silver was hooked on these damn pervy books, as everyone in Konoha knew. He had changed so dramatically, and it never occured to him how different a person he had become to that dark, callous, child he once was.
no subject
It only took one look at that new personality's face to realize how strange he had gotten too. Obito's face had twisted, lips contorted, as he watched Kakashi's form be reduced to a fanboy.
"See!" He pointed right at the silver. "This is why people think you're weird and perverted!"
no subject
Kakashi pushed Obito's hand back, pressing it down on the couch gently, "I'm not as lecherous as people make out."
