Log;

After a bit of initial roof jumping, Greed finally had a bead on his prey. He used his claws to repel down the side of a building, then leapt off and rolled to a stop. Within a few more minutes of following the trial, he finally saw Lawrence in the distance.

"Oi!" he barked, his deep, smooth voice reverberating down an alleyway, "I've been lookin' for ya'!"

He ran over with all speed, skidding to a stop in front of his date.

"How are ya'?"

Lawr looked around, a bit cautious. He wasn't sure just what was going on, but after Subaru had come streaking into the apartment that morning, and someone had come asking after him, he was a bit on guard. The door was locked, windows shut, everything just as it had been a few minutes ago, save for one less presence inside the apartment.

He looked up as Greed rushed over, a bit surprised at how fast he'd seemed to be going, and smiled. "I'm good, and yourself?" He had to admit, he was a little reluctant to leave the apartment, and to go anywhere at all, but brooding on someone who wasn't there was stupid and a waste of time. Anything to occupy himself, right..?

His eyes went wide as Greed sank to one knee. ..Riding on his back? Lawr had to resist the urge to laugh. It was like when he was a kid, when his family was still together, and his father would pick him up and run around. Those were.. happy times.

"A piggy back ride? Really?" Lawr smiled, letting a short chuckle escape. "I'm not that young anymore."

This time, Lawr did laugh. He'd never known a grown man before that could act so...well, that would be so shameless in public like this. Hell, Greed was shameless anyway. It was just one of his quirks. Lawr rolled his eyes, a smile on his face, and climbed onto Greed's back. "Fine, I suppose."

He didn't want to say how he almost missed being carried like this. That would lead to thoughts that, at the moment, he'd rather not entertain.

His eyes were wide, and his fists were bunched in Greed's shirt, but Lawr couldn't look away, couldn't bring himself to crouch down and hide against his back. It felt like he was flying, like he was soaring through the air and nothing could stop him. It was... exhilarating.

Lawr ducked down as they left the city, not wanting to get hit by any stray tree branches. The air stung his eyes and whipped his hair away from his face, but he smiled, asking, "Greed, do you always run like this?"

Lawr smirked a little, bobbing his head in a mockery of etiquette before stepping into the room. Greed was 'in a hurry'? I guess I shouldn't be surprised, he thought to himself, a bit of the excitement from the trip bleeding out. Just.. another day on the the job, right?

He walked over to one of the walls, looking at his surroundings. "So this is where the hot springs are, huh? I'll have to remember that."

Shoes...? Lawr shrugged and slipped off his shoes, the pair that had come with him the day he'd died and turned up here, and set them by the door, a little ways away from Greed's. What a strange place... Why was he supposed to take off his shoes? Couldn't he just walk around in them?

He watched Greed going about and closing the blinds before dropping himself onto a nearby chair. Dinner? Hmm, he might have to charge extra if Greed wanted to get a little kinky. Lawr shrugged, still looking around, as he murmured, "I don't care. Anything's fine." It was true that he'd agreed to this, but it felt like he was just taking another customer, like when he still worked for Dallas.

A small smile slipped onto Lawr's face when he smelled the food cooking. It smelled delicious. When was the last time someone had cooked him dinner? It had to have been when he was still living with Adrian, before Dallas had found him and ruined everything. Wasn't he here to take his mind off of Adrian? So then why did he keep thinking of him?

"Wow, that looks fantastic!" His eyes went wide when he saw the food set down, his stomach giving a happy little grumble.

Lawr regarded the bottle carefully before shrugging. "Sure, why not? Thanks." Something to drink while they ate would be good, right? He picked up his cup and offered it to Greed, setting it a bit closer to him.

From what he could tell, the place was very nice, and should the need arise, there were plenty of places to escape from. It was an old habit that he'd picked up back when he was alive; if the situation looked back, then he'd run. Nothing wrong with saving one's own skin, right?

He scooped some food onto his plate and took a bite, his eyes widening in surprise. "Wow, it's delicious!"

His eyes went wide as Greed almost choked, the fork dropping to the plate as his hand twitched with the urge to thump him on the back to help him breathe. Lawr didn't know if such a thing like choking would kill a homunculus, but whether it did or didn't, he didn't want to be a part of it. Leave the killing to the murderers, to the poor, misunderstood ones.

"Cheesecake, huh?" Lawr picked up his fork again and took a small bite of it, a small gasp slipping from his lips. It was... He looked up at Greed, amazed. "You made it? It's so good!"

[identity profile] nomorechains.livejournal.com 2007-07-04 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
Lawr didn't know whether he wanted to laugh or not. The cheesecake was from a local place? He felt a little betrayed, as if he'd been lied to, but laughed anyway. Greed... He was funny. Maybe this wouldn't be as bad as he thought.

He smiled, nodding. "All right then, I just might stop by sometime. I've never been to a hot springs before, it might be nice to just relax."

"Alcohol, huh?" Lawr picked up his glass, swirling the wine inside of it a little, before drinking it. It left a good feeling in the pit of his stomach. He took another few bites of his food, then pushed the plate away, his appetite gone. Following Greed's example, he scooped up the dirty plates and placed them on the cart, wiping his hands and mouth on a napkin.

"So," he said as he sat back down, "now what?"

[identity profile] nomorechains.livejournal.com 2007-07-04 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
A tour, huh? Lawr gave him a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes as he nodded and took his hand. "Sure, why not?" He got off the chair and beckoned to Greed, bobbing his head a little. "Lead the way."

Lawr's eyes went wide as he was pulled into Greed's arms and rushed through the building, a little bewildered as they cleared the staircase and skidded to a stop in front of the glass door. He studied it, trying to peer through the fogginess, before a towel hit him in the face. The boy blinked, more than a little surprised, as he pulled the towel down and watched Greed run into the kitchen and back. Someone was in a hurry, wasn't he?

He laughed a little. Stripping? Well, it did make sense, didn't it? So why not? Lawr reached up and pulled the shirt off his head, jeans sliding to the floor not too long afterwards. "Is there anywhere I can put these?" he asked, as he wrapped the towel around his waist.
