summary; Two people attempt to forget of a curse with coffee and cake. This should be mandatory for all curses.

Log;

Dark slid a chair from a table and, more or less, plopped down in the seat. He was still slightly tired and sore from the night's activities and yesterday's curse.

A waiter came up to him, but he waved him away. No, he would wait for the girl, Ran. He fingered a coin, turning it over and over again, as he stared into the sky.

Ran was her usually cheerful self as she walked to her favorite café. She was still wearing sundresses since the fabric of a skirt irritated her scar, in a bright color with plat form shoes. She looked around and spotted someone she had not seen before, assuming it was Dark since she came regularly to Café Juliet. "Dark?" She asked as she walked over.

He glanced up at the mention of his name and rose from his seat, his hand outstretched. "Kotobuki Ran?" The other hand pocketed the coin and brushed stray hairs out of his eyes.

Ran nodded "Yeah, that’s my name, but call me Ran." And took his hand, shaking it. "I hope that I didn’t make you wait to long." She gingerly let go of his hand and took a seat. "It is really good to get out of the apartment, Kira is all about his new project."

Waving a hand dismissively, Dark took his seat as well. "Only been here for about five minutes, Ran. Not long at all." The name Kira seemed familiar. "What project is your roommate working on?"

The waiter passed by again, and this time, Dark waved him over. He turned to Ran with a smile, "Favorite cake?"

"The Strawberry cake is my favorite." She gave a smile back. "Well since there is Kira, Suu, Nuku Nuku and I all living in the same place he decided that he was going to connect our apartment to the one next to us, so we have more room." Settling herself into the chair.

"A slice of strawberry cake from the lady, and a latte for me? Thanks." The waiter wrote it down and walked off. Dark raised an eyebrow and nodded, "So that's why the name Kira sounds so familiar. Suu's the young girl with mechanical wings, right?"

"Yeah, she is such a sweet girl. Do you know her?" Ran leaned back in her chair some. "She helped me out a lot after my surgery."

"Yeah," Dark said briefly and glanced away, not mentioning where they had met. That was already awkward enough. His eyes went back to Ran, though. "Surgery?"

"Yeah," she pointed to a spot on her right side. "I had my appendix take out not to long ago. It was really very painful. I would normally wear a skirt or shorts but the waist keeps touching the stitches and that really hurts." She leaned forward. "So, what got you out of the house today?"

The waiter came back with their orders and set a slice of strawberry cake in front of Ran and a cup of latte in front of Dark.

Dark picked up the cup and sipped at it before answering, "Yesterday's curse made me fall in love with a girl, who picked a sword over me." He leaned back. "Albeit, she was under the curse as well, but..." He shrugged, sipping at the latte once again.

Ran started in on her cake in her happy manner but then stopped when he talked about the curse. "Such stupid things to fall in love that way." She seemed angry at the cake as she took another bite. "Honestly I just don’t understand people sometimes." She looked up at him. "You not used to being rejected?"

Dark grinned lopsidedly. "It's not a big deal, getting rejected and all. I just feel insulted that she picked a piece of silver metal over me. Because it was shiny." He rolled his eyes and took another sip of the latte.

"How about you? What happened to you yesterday?"

"Shinny things are nice" she dangled the 3 bracelets she had on her left arm. She had two more on her right and an upper armband as well. "Well let's see. My friend Ken-kun got on top of a building and yelled at the city that he loved me. Then threatened to kill him self because I wouldn’t go on a date with someone so childish. I got him down with nice words but I gave him a good slap when we got down. I feel in love with my friend Merry, but she took it all right."

He coughed and blinked a few times. "I should have done that," he muttered as he slowly took another sip. "So did you go on a date with him? Where did you go?"

Ran took another bite of her cake. "No, we have not gone on the date yet. I am not really sure if he still wants to go. I should ask him next time we talk." Ran giggled. "People here are so serious about going out on a date. I mean, I am only 16, I am not looking for anyone to tie me down." She seemed more intent on her cake as she enjoyed a few ore bites.

Dark shrugged. "People are like that sometimes. Besides, good first impressions lead to second dates." He grinned knowingly. "And who knows? Just because you're not looking doesn't mean you can't look."

Ran nodded "yeah, I am totally ok with having a boy friend. I mean the guy needs to make me happy, but if he dose that then I have no problem calling him my boyfriend." She grinned. "My boyfriend at home asked to date me the day that we meet" She looked a little sad, "I do miss him sometimes but I really don't think he is going to be coming, so moving on right?" she tried to make a happy smile.

"I guess. You can't wait forever." Dark touched her arm. "I'm sure he would understand."

He retracted his arm and leaned backwards once more, closing his eyes. "It's hard to move on, but it's important to be happy." He opened one eye. "You know?"

Ran twitched when he touched her arm but was glad when he let go. "Moving in is very important. If you can't move past what makes you unhappy then you will never be able to see what dose make you happy." She gave a wave to the lady behind were they kept the cakes. "Another slice of cake please." She smiled bake at dark, "I just love cake,"

Nodding, Dark set down his cup and stretched. "I noticed," he said wryly. "So how long have you been in the City? Have you ever gone back to your world ever since?"

Ran looked at him with a very cute and sad manner. "Dose Mr. Dark not like my company?"

"Hey hey!" He waved his hands in front of him innocently, "I was just wondering because I know some people have gone back. I've enjoyed your company very much so far."

Ran smiled "Ok." And her new slice of cake was placed before her. "So tell me about yourself dark, are you human?"

"Now that would be telling." His hands had the cup of latte again and he took a sip. "What makes you think that I'm not human?"

"Never said I thought you were not human. It is just a question to ask." she leaned forward onto her arms. "So was that a yes Mr. Dark?"

"That was a maybe, Ran. Just wondering what would make you ask me that." He set down his cup, now empty. "Was it the purple hair? The eyes? Maybe the great body? Hm?"

Ran titled her head so she could get a better view of his body. She had to admit it was a nice one. "Well the only way I can know if someone is not human is by asking. I am only human. You are GL but don’t get carried just because you are hot, no one likes a show boater."

Dark laughed, "Some do. But I'm not that type of person, not that type of human," he paused for a moment. "I could be considered human, but I would go with the title legendary thief. How about you? Hundred percent human?"

"Legendary thief huh? Yeah I am hundred percent human. I was called number one GAL of Shibuya when I was in my world, but that hardly counts here." She took a bite of her new cake.

Raising an eyebrow, Dark leaned forward. "GAL? I can hear the capitalization from here. What's that supposed to mean?"
