Log; Complete
When; August 8th (Morning)
Rating; Disney!
Characters; Fiore and Nill
Summary; The maidservant and supposed little sister finally meet.
Log;
Fiore; The sun had been up for quite some time, and thus she had decided it would be an ideal time for the young girl to wake. After setting a tray full of food down atop of the nightstand, Fiore gingerly began to pull the curtains back to allow threads of sunlight to pass through the window. bathing the girl in the sun's warm glow. It was then and only then that she stepped towards the edge of the bed and placed a hand on Nill's shoulder.
"It is morning. Sleeping more than eight hours a day in unhealthy," she added gently, stepping back to allow the girl a bit of room. For two people that had not formally met, she was being awfully casual-- but it was fitting. If this was the girl that Joshua had chosen, then she was unable to treat her any other way. "Master Joshua picked you flowers," she turned her attention to a beautiful vase that had been set near the window, a slew of colorful flowers bursting from its top.
"I am Fiore," she concluded, bowing into an elegant curtsy. "Master Joshua's maidservant."
Nill; A light touch on her shoulder pulled Nill away from the dream she was having. It wasn't a pleasant dream so she didn't mind leaving it at all. Nill rubbed her eyes sleepily looking around for the one who had woken her. The bed was light, meaning that it wasn't Joshua. She listened in a sort of daze to the entrancing voice. Definitely female...she rubbed her eyes some more, trying to get all the sleep out of her system.
Fiore...that name...it was a familiar. One that she had heard Joshua talk about often. Her introduction put everything into light.
"Miss...Fio...re...?"
Fiore; "Fiore," she corrected, for there was no need to be so formal when speaking with her. She straightened back up and pulled the cover off of the tray she had brought along with her, revealing a glass of orange juice and a plate full of a nicely cooked breakfast consisting of pancakes, sausage, bacon, eggs and toast. The helpings were generous, but not so large that she could not finish them.
It was an important meal, after all.
"After you have eaten breakfast, I will draw you a bath."
Nill; Her blue eyes widened in surprise. Wings fluttering slightly, she touched the tip of the plate shyly. She hadn't had breakfast made for her in quite awhile, the last time being when she stayed with Mister Crowley and Mister Aziraphale...when had she last visited them? It looked extremely yummy...
"For me...M-Mi-- Fiore...?"
She tilted her head at the mention of a bath. The girl flustered slightly, "Y-You...you don't...have to do that...f-for...me..." the words came out softly. Fiore had already made her breakfast, she couldn't ask her to do more. Her wings fluttered as she pursed her lips, unsure of how to mouth her reasoning.
Fiore; Her lips twitched up into a ghost of a smile at the girl's reaction.
"If you are still hungry after, I will make you something else to eat." She took a seat in a chair next to the bed and, with a light tilt of her head, observed the girl. "Mistress Nill," the words came as easily as anything else she had spoken before. "Master Joshua is very fond of you, I am glad he found you." She was grateful, even, because if Joshua had been alone in a place like this, then he would have been worse off than he was on Eden.
He would have lost his mind entirely.
Nill; She picked up a piece of toast and nibbled at it. Even though she had been in the City for months, Nill still could not handle regular amounts of food. She didn’t mean for it to happen but it was hard to reverse years of hardly eating. But hey, at least she was eating now?
The girl watched Fiore take a seat nearby. Nill had actually always wanted to meet her, since Joshua had spoken highly of her…as much as she thought of Heine.
”Ah! N-Nill…” she corrected as Fiore had done just moments before. The girl wasn’t used to such formalities and she really wanted to speak with Fiore as a friend…and that seemed kind of hard when you addressed people as mistress…
Her cheeks tinged slightly, “T-Thank you…”
Fiore; She was pleased that Nill accepted the food, and as such she felt comfortable enough to move her gaze elsewhere, to the window across from them. Judging by her reaction, she figured that Joshua had told Nill about her. It was good, then, and perhaps better in the long run because there would be no surprises, then.
"Miss Nill, then" Fiore began again, the formality never once leaving her tone. But she had come to talk with her, after all, and thus it was as she smoothed out a wrinkle in her apron that she changed the subject. "When Master Joshua is around, I will call you by the name he has given you. It would not do for Master Joshua to be confused."
She looked over at Nill, as if awaiting confirmation, before she turned to look at her plate. "Is it satisfactory?"
Nill; Nill nodded an okay. but she was starting to feel that names were getting confusing, even though those were some of the things she liked to say the best now that she could talk.
The girl picked up the glass of orange juice and sipped it to wash down the toast she had just finished. She nodded again, "It's...r-really yummy...T-Thank you Fiore..." Honestly, she wasn't sure if she could finish but she would do her best to eat what she could. Hm...maybe she would try the pancakes next.
Fiore; "If you cannot finish it, that is fine," she spoke up as soon as she saw the girl's eyes. She was so used to telling Joshua to finish his portions that telling someone otherwise felt a bit strange. Fiore would just have to make her portions a bit smaller, at least until she was accustomed to eating more.
It had taken a bit of time, but something had become apparent to her.
"Master Joshua gave you his voice," she continued, voice devoid of any sort of worry. In fact, if one didn't know her well they might have thought that she didn't seem to care at all, and had simply made the comment in passing. "If it pleases you, I will teach you how to use it." And, with that said, she turned another smile on Nill and rose from her seat, to dip into another curtsy.
"I will let you finish breakfast, Miss Nill. I must wake Master Joshua now."
Nill; "O-Okay...thank you..." Fiore was a surprising person...what was the word they used for this...? Perceptive...? After all, how had she known that? She flustered a bit reaching out to stop her before Fiore left the room and nearly falling off the bed.
"Um...i-if you...need help...with anything...feel free to ask?"
Fiore; Nill wouldn't have had time to even wobble on the edge of the bed before Fiore was there again, in an instant, her hands gingerly moving to keep the smaller girl balanced before she shook her head. "That will be unnecessary, but thank you, Miss Nill. My tasks are my own, I cannot allow anyone to assist me with them."
Once she made sure the girl was steady again, she stood up and retraced her steps to the doorway, pausing just outside of it to watch her for a second or two. She really was very sweet, it would be nice to have such a refreshing presence among them again.
Nill; Nodding a shy thank you she sat back up properly. Fiore was full of surprises...as Fiore left the room, she started on the pancakes, thinking as she took a small bite of ways she could help Fiore around the Cathedral since the place was huge and it was a daunting task for one person. She should know...Her gaze moved towards the window and the vase filled with bright colors.
Maybe things would be better now...
