Summary; this is farewell, then.
Log;
She knew it was coming, but she was also hoping that perhaps, in this other world, things would be different. After all, so much was different here. The world was more surreal than she could ever imagine. The people she had met had grown stranger by the moment. Even Doumeki-kun had changed, no matter how much he had also stayed the same. But despite all that, she was still the troublesome girl, even here.
The smile on her face was simple, seemingly fixed onto her face, but not half-hearted. She traced the broken white envelope with her fingers lovingly, as if the action would make the words inside less painful. She tried telling herself that they did not care about her so much that it would hurt, but grudgingly, she admitted to herself that they did. It would be alright though, they had each other and they would surely remember her in fondness soon enough.
Her smile widened a little as she let go of the envelope and willed herself to walk out of the room, swinging her tiny suitcase beside her. She did not look back as she closed the door behind her, firmly but without a sound.
The walk through the hallways felt surprisingly easy for her. She had thought that leaving would surely be difficult, considering just how much she had grown to care for all of them. They had been so kind to her, and all she had brought to them was bad luck. She should have thought her actions more thoroughly, she had been so hasty lately. She should have known that agreeing to stay at the Hot Springs would have terrible consequences for the other residents. She realized that too late and now Fai-san...
She bit her lower lip in guilt as she stepped out of the front door of the Hot Springs, stopping for a moment to think it through again. She should not make the same mistake so many times. From somewhere in the Hot Springs, the windchimes made an ethereal sound, and the smile on her face bloomed again.
Himawari had no powers with which to protect these people, but she would at least stop endangering them by leaving. This is how she could protect them. Raising one hand, she waved gleefully at the front door, as if her friends were there to see her off on a holiday of some sort.
She sighed contentedly to herself, then walked off to find a new home.
