Summary; After becoming the oh-so proud parents of kittens, they discuss mushy junk.

Rosette; "You are going to be Vincent." The 16 year olds voice was almost nostalgic, as she smiled down at the kittens that had followed her partner home earlier that day. Sometimes these curses weren't too bad, she had always wanted pets, but being at the abbey and orphanage where they weren't allowed had put a damper on that plan.
Still, late was better then never, and she smiled as she tucked the one male out of the four in her arm, and ushered the other hyperactive animals into the clothes basket she had dragged from the laundry room. "What do you think Chrono?" She grinned over at him, hair falling into her face as she cuddled Vincent to her chest, and wiggled her other hand inside the basket, where the other three kittens were tripping over themselves to play with her fingers. "Vincent, Stella, Azu, and Kate?"
Chrono; Chrono couldn't help but smile as he watched her gingerly fuss over the kittens. Her expression now, it almost reminded him of the one she wore when they first met, an expression that had never been touched by something evil. He blinked when she spoke and leaned over to watch the three in the basket as he reached over and scratched behind Vincent's ears.
"They're good names, I think." And while he said this he looked over at her and smiled for a second time, letting the hand that was on Vincent drift up to brush her hair back behind her ear. "Those four are going to be spoiled rotten, aren't they?" He rolled over onto his stomach next to the basket, resting his chin in his hands to watch the kittens bond with their newfound mother.
He couldn't help the bit of laughter that left his mouth, however, as one of the three in the basket turned to swipe a paw at his bangs.
Rosette; She couldn't stop herself from blushing as he neatly tucked her hair back, and she dropped her eyes, trying to hide her pink cheeks as the kitten in her arms squirmed, half chewing on the bottom of the pocket watch. His blue eyes watching his sister attack Chrono as his tail swished back and forth, as eager to play as any.
"Yeah, that one's defiantly Stella." She mused, grinning a bit to herself as she took his lead and lay down on her side, the basket of kittens between them, and let Vincent go so he could pound across the comforter and attempt to crawl into the basket himself. "Fai's going to be bringing another one over later, so We're going to have a little family here." She smiled at that, her own blue eyes watching Chrno's youthful face. "That one is going to be Remi. He's orange and striped and everything." She grinned at that, flicking Stella-kitten in the butt so she whirled around and toppled over in surprise.
It was nice to have this moment of peace, just the two of them, after everything that had happened.
"They're all so cute."
Chrono; If he saw her blush, then he wasn't making it obvious. He had, of course.
"You think so, too, huh?" He grinned as he leaned forward just in time to have the kitten lick his nose. With an awkward sort of pause, he gave a firm nod and leaned back a little, though it seemed more to tease the kitten than out of disgust. "It's a lot like her." Right down to the apparent fondness of younger boys, he inwardly mused, as the kitten turned to pounce Vincent.
Fai? Chrono had a distinct feeling the man wasn't fond of him, and he had a good idea as to why. Either way, rather than voice it and ruin the happy moment, he laughed. "We might have to go back to the Mansion at this rate. We'll have a million kittens before the day ends," he teased, resting his cheek against a palm as he looked over at her. The peace was reassuring, especially after their argument, but he smile was definitely worth the wait.
"Mm, they are."
Rosette; "Blech." She rolled her eyes at that one, rolling over onto her back, staring up at the high ceilings of her room. "I can't stand that place, the later we have to go back there, the better." She smiled though as the two kittens fought, Stella kicking her brother's stomach to try and get him off of her, as the two other cleaned each other peacefully, not seeming in the mood to try and break the two up. "Though, having a million kittens there wouldn't make it so bad. You'd be cleaning the litter box though." She pointed out, grinning wider as she reached out and flicked him in the center of his headband.
"It's better then it being empty." She sighed a bit, pulling her hands up to her chest and resting her cheek against the soft comforter, tapping her fingers to the calmer kittens, the smaller of which meandering her way over and curling up at her stomach, nose buried into the soft white of her button up shirt.
Since the incident with Cirucci and Verona, she had been less comfortable with wearing her habit. She tried to tell herself it was because that creepy beach ball might find her easier that way, but she couldn't help but think it might have something to do with the way she had reacted when Chrono had rushed up at that moment.
The heated kiss they had shared.
Her skin glowed beneath her hair, and she nibbled on her bottom lip, wrapping one arm about the kittens, Vincent having decided that getting beaten up by a girl was far less honorable then running to mommy and hiding behind Azu, playing with his little ears.
Chrono; "Why do I have to clean the littler box?" Chrono cried, but took to laughing not a minute later. It would have been comical in their world, a nun and a demon fighting over who would have to clean something as insignificant as a litter box. Well, it was probably equally silly right now, but even so! It was just the way the were, and it probably wouldn't ever change. He was glad for that much.
"Let's get an apartment together then," he began, rolling over onto his back as he folded his arms behind his neck. "It might be a bit cramped with five kittens and us, but it would be cozy. I don't want to force you to go back to the mansion if you don't like it. And I wouldn't mind being in a warm place, anyhow." Then he laughed again. "I'll cook you and the kids gourmet dinner every night."
"Rosette?" he said, his voice soft.
Rosette; "Mn?" She asked distractedly, before turning her eyes up to him, the mental image of them living together like that made her heart skip a beat, happily if not nervously. Living here together at the Opera House was so nice, she loved being around everyone, they were like family to her as well. And it didnt seem so....private when They were like this.
A place of their own huh.
"Why not, you know I can make a mean bowl of soup, but you cooking sounds good too." She said a little quietly, not sure if they were still on the same topic. The calm was nice, but she could still feel the tension of unasked, and unanswered questions between them, and a tension she couldn't quite place. So she kept on as if she didn't notice. "Though with neighbors like those out there, I dunno." She smiled at him playfully.
Chrono; "You once asked me what you were to me," he began as he pushed himself up into a seated position and turned to look at her entirely. "I think I have an answer for you now." He scooted over a bit closer to the basket to pet the kittens, who were either feigning sleep or were actually seconds from drifting into dream world. "Mm, I definitely do."
He took a deep breath and released it before he turned his attention from them to her, to take up her hand and give it a little squeeze. "When I told you that you were an important person, I meant it but-- You're not just an important person, Rosette. You're the important person, I treasure no one more." His eyes drifted from her hand to her face, where they lingered for some time.
"I," he began, but struggled with the words. It wasn't as if he didn't know what to say, he just hadn't used the words in a long time. "Rosette, I--" He was secretly hoping there was another way to tell her, but Rosette wasn't exactly the brightest crayon in the box when it came to things like this. She'd asked him in the first place, after all.
"I love you."
Rosette; She stared at him, her hand limp with shock in his, though her pulse quickened. It wasn't that she hadn't hoped that he felt that way, or that she maybe had an idea that he had before, but this was just so sudden and out of no where and....hearing those words made her heart feel as if it would leap out of her chest.
Her cheeks slowly turned red hot and her fingers curled about his, and if it was possible, steam would have been rising from her ears from the amount of cogs that were running on overdrive in her brain.
"Oh." was all she could manage, helplessly.
Chrono; Talk about a mood killer.
Chrono froze and dropped her hand before he scooted away, as if he'd suddenly been burned and turned his face, though his tone still remained friendly. "Well, now you know. We should probably pick out some food for the kids, shouldn't we? We can't feed them canned soup and gourmet people food all of the time, it'll make them sick, right?" He laughed nervously then.
It had been the wrong time to tell her, he decided at last.
Rosette; She blinked, suddenly pulled back to earth as he let go of her hand, and she sat up quickly, her lips pressed into a perfect 'O' as she tried to get her brain to work correctly and send messages to her mouth. Unfortunately, sitting up like she had made her head hurt, and white spots appear in front of her eyes, Chrono's friendly-distant words feeling like knifes in her brain.
Wait- no, thats not what I meant!
"Chrono!" She finally said, her voice firm as she placed one hand against her temple, the other on Chrono's shoulder, making him turn to face her. She bit down on her lip, before parting them, only to not be able to get words to form correctly like she meant them.
She was about to rip her hair out with frustration. It was funny how easily he got her like this, only, she couldn't Solve it like she normally did.
So instead, she did the next best thing.
"I'm so bad at this." She whispered, grumbled, crimson faced and obviously flustered, the words barely a warning as she kissed him, eyebrows furrowed as she hoped she got the point across.
I love you too.
Chrono; He was taken aback by her actions, but they definitely weren't unwanted even if the process leading up to it was amusing. He'd nearly laughed at her facial expression despite himself, but now he wouldn't dream of it. In fact, as he gingerly laced his fingers through her hair and closed his eyes, he couldn't think of anything but that moment.
But he understood her wordless reply completely.
When he sat back he was smiling again, a smile of boyish glee, before he finally found his voice again. "Even if I did enjoyed that, I really did mean what I said about the kittens." A shyness he didn't know he possessed seemed to be overtaking him as he found he couldn't meet Rosette's stare without having a flurry of butterflies erupt in his stomach.
She really didn't understand how much power she had over him.
Rosette; She stared down at him, unable to keep her eyes on his face for more then a few seconds at a time, before they would flicker around, trying to focus off on anything else, her cheeks glowing.
Well that...was rather pleasant.
His words made her jump a little, and she pursed her lips a little at him, before looking off to the side, her voice a little shaky. "Y-yeah. I mean I heard that giving them actual milk will make them sick or something. S-so we should get them some food, and a bed, and some other things too. Good thing this place doesn't use money huh." She mumbled, dropping her eyes to his again for a second, that only made her heart pound harder and her stomach twist pleasantly.
Oh god, she was turning into a pedophile like Stella.
Chrono; "Yeah, that good," Chrono added with an equally nervous bit of laughter to follow. Well, he had intended to tell her because of their argument but now things had been awkward, though not necessarily in a bad sense. Her fleeting glances were amusing, but every time she looked at him he felt his heart jump up into his throat. Somehow, he wondered if she was doing it on purpose after awhile.
"A warm bed, it gets cold here during the winter, I don't think the basket will be enough. They could sleep with us, maybe," he began but cut himself off, before adding quickly. "I mean in our bed! No! .. beds! My bed and your bed! I mean, it's not like we sleep together.. oh, this is hopeless!" He cried, his face about as red as his jacket as he looked away to regain composure.
Love was strange.
Rosette; She could feel even the back of her neck turn hot, and she slapped him hard over the back of his head. "Chrono you Pervert!" She huffed, crossing her arms in her typical fashion, before she got up from the bed, utterly embarrassed. "and what, can't share a bed with me anymore? I've got cooties or something?" She waggled her fist at him again, acting far more angry then she really was. Two of the kittens woke up at the sudden noises, yawning sleepily and staring at them.
"You know, normally couples DO share a bed. Unfortunately your seem to think I'm THAT disgusting, so I guess I wont even trouble you with it!" She griped, reaching for the basket full of kittens, making a point to be loud and obnoxious about every little movement.
Chrono; The smaller boy yelped and nearly fell forward before he looked over at her and simply stared. He look completely and utterly dumbfounded before the implications set in. She thought he--
"No, no!" He waved his arms in front of him in his defense. "I wasn't thinking that, I swear I wasn't, Rosette! Believe it or not, demons think of more than just.. well.. things like that!" Really, he didn't think this was doing an ounce of good for him, but he wasn't about to stop trying for fear that she'd think he really was thinking about that.
"Of course I don't mind sharing! You don't have cooties and you're definitely not disgusting. Far from it," he caught her hand again and attempted to keep her where she was, eyes almost pleading. The poor guy, he really did think she was angry with him now. Her last words, however, surprised him and he nearly dropped her hand then.
"Are we a couple?"
Rosette; "Uh huh." She griped, leaning forward as if trying to strain all her weight against him, and took two steps before he almost dropped her hand, and she stumbled a bit, the kittens mewling unhappily in her arms. She looked back at him with a frustrated look, surprised herself that she had used those words.
"I don't know." She grumbled, turning her eyes upwards as she set the kittens down on top of the dresser, and placed the now free hand on her hip. "You tell me Chrono. It's not like I'm new or anything, I mean after Fakir-- It's not like I can blame you for not wanting to be." She reached down and pried her wrist out of his grip, and then flicked his forehead, the light reflecting off the face of her pocket watch, a unreadable expression on her face.
Chrono; Chrono groaned, rubbing at his forehead as he watched her and then let his gaze fall to the pocket watch.
"I told you, didn't I?" He seemed nearly exasperated as he spoke, still massaging the spot where she'd flicked him before he dropped his hand. "You're my most treasured person, no matter what's happened in the past. Nothing will change that, especially not a curse." He shot her a smile and attempted to reach up to the kittens, somewhat embarrassed that they were just out of his reach. It would be somewhat of a problem, wouldn't it? Him looking like a child.
"But if you're still thinking about the curse, then maybe it's best to wait on that verdict." There was no doubt in his mind that the experience during the curse had left its scars on both Fakir and Rosette, no matter how much the pair regretted their actions. He couldn't blame Fakir, just as he couldn't feel anything but love for Rosette right now. It was enough to be around her when she smiled, when she got that twinkle in her eye that he couldn't quite explain when she was happy.
"We can be a pair of trouble-making partners until then," he laughed.
Rosette; She rolled her eyes, sighing a bit as she cuffed him again, though it almost felt that a weight had been lifted from her, but replaced by another, different feeling one. "You're way too forgiving Chrono." She smiled though a little, shrugging her shoulders. "Yeah I guess." She quirked her lips to the side a bit, fingers brushing over the pocket watch, quietly fling the tick tick tick that it constantly gave off. She shouldn't hold onto things like that, especially now. Live for the moment--
She reached up and took the kittens down, placing them in his arms a bit. "We should go look for somewhere tomorrow. And I expect it to be nice too. No half assing." She grinned.
Things were starting to look up.
Chrono; "Ugh!" He pretended to be annoyed before he held the kittens to his chest and then moved to place them back in their basket where they could go back to sleep. "You act like I've steered you wrong all these years. If anyone knows about your picky taste, it's me!" And then he smiled at her before he adjusted his jacket and sighed. "For now, though, you should stay here with them while I try to go find some cat food."
"Unless you want them to eat your food," he joked as he rounded the corner before she could utter a word. It just wouldn't do if she had cats fall on her, he was stronger anyhow. Even if his trip to the store would consist of him running almost comically as he attempted to save his braid from curious kitten claws.
She'd better be grateful!
