When; August 7th, in the early hours of the morning
Rating; PG-13 for violence?  Although it really isn't that bad.
Characters; Sirius Black [profile] sirius_danger , James Potter [profile] snitch_seeker01, and Remus Lupin [profile] chocoholicremus
Summary; Sirius kind of loses it and chases after James, intending to do serious harm to the boy.  Remus runs after them to make sure they don't kill each other. :O
Log;
Sirius tore down the hallways of Building 1 in hot pursuit of James, fury pounding through his veins.  Coherent thoughts were long gone; all he knew was that James had to pay, and he would teach him with tooth and nail just how very in the wrong he was.  Barreling through the front doors, he leapt into the water after the tousle-haired boy, gaining on him fast.  It wasn't long now, he'd just be able to reach him if he could stretch out his neck a bit futher.  Lunging forward, he snapped his jaws around one of James's arms and bit down as hard, shaking his head wildly to deepen the wound and knock James off balance.

James gritted his teeth, biting back the tears that made their way. Padfoot had a mean bite, and James was deserving of anything that his friends felt to dish out. Trying to shake the dog off his arm, James pulled out his wand and lunged it into Padfoot's side. The boy looked at the dog, almost holding back, but quickly shook out any thoughts of that.

"What do you want, Black? To finally try and do me in as was your plan all along? I can't believe I thought you were really my friend! Hell, I can't believe I would ever be friends with the likes of you, and your pet werewolf."  James turned to look at the now approaching Remus.

As soon as he saw Sirius change into Padfoot and run after James, Remus ran after him, checking his pockets to make sure his wand was with him - just in case.  He wouldn't actually attack James, it wasn't his fault that he was acting this way, it was the city.  Though, there was still this niggling bit of doubt making him wonder if there was any truth to James' words.  Why would anyone want to be friends with a werewolf, after all?  It was something he wondered about, though he tried his hardest not to.  Old habits die hard.

Reaching the struggling pair, Remus grabbed onto Padfoot's fur and tugged lightly, not wanting to injure James any further.  "Let go of James, Sirius, now!  You don't really want to do this!"

Sirius let out a small grunt of pain at the fierce jab but he hung on, bringing up his paws to scramble and scratch at any part of James he could reach.  James's words burned inside him; the more the boy talked, the more Sirius lost any train of thought concerning whether or not this was the right thing to do. No one spoke that way to him, or his friends.

Remus's voice cut through some of the foggy anger; hands pulling at him almost made him let go.  But then one look at James's sneering face got him back on track.

'Yes,'  He managed to think, 'I really DO want to do this.'  With that, he yowled as he released James's arm and leapt for his face, jaws clamping down on glasses, barely missing flesh.

Padfoot was strong, too strong for James to deal with. James changed into his stagg form and kicked Padfoot off of him. Changing to himself, James turned on Remus.

"I don't need you'r help Lupin! Stay out of this, you pathetic twit!" Turning back to Sirius, he glared. "Too afraid to fight me as a man Black?" He gave a short laugh. "Figures." He scoffed and turned his back on the boy.

Startled by James' sudden change of forms, Remus stepped back in time to avoid being tossed aside with Padfoot by Prongs, eyes widening with worry as he watched the interaction.  If he would have to get between them to avoid either  of them being seriously injured, he would.

It apparently wasn't something to worry about, as just then Prongs shifted back to James, causing Remus to flinch at the cold look in his eyes.  It was one thing to read it and hear it, but another to actually see the disgust and hatred that James was feeling.  Though it was his words that provoked Remus, causing him to clench his jaw, the muscle there bunching spasmodically.  "I'm not doing it to help you, Potter.  I'm doing it to keep Sirius from doing something he'll regret."

Padfoot flew about five feet to the side, plunging underwater but surfacing just in time to hear James's words.  Snarling, he changed back without even thinking about it, arms trembling with the need to lash out.

"Who would be scared of some skinny little boy who fancies himself a seeker?"  He growled, trudging through the water to spin James around.  Staring straight down into the shorter boy's eyes, he said "It's not a good idea to turn your back on an opponent.  Let me teach you not to do it again."  With that, he raised his fist and smashed it into James's left cheekbone.

There was a slight cracking sound when Sirius's fist and James's face made contact. James staggered backwards and brought his hand to his face. Fighting through the  pain, he gave a short laugh. "Is that all you've got?  It's no wonder your family abandoned you. Can you do anything right, Black? You're wasting my time, go play with your pet."

James went to Remus and looked him in the eye. "Dumbledore was wrong letting you come to school. One day, you'll kill someone, and that'll be the end of everything."

Remus' relief at the both of them being in their true forms was short lived, the next events happening too quickly and as if they were in slow motion all at the same time.  But it was James' words that truly affected him, though he had winced sympathetically at Sirius' punch.  It was not something he would want to be on the receiving end of.

'Monster...kill someone...don't belong...'  James' words intertwined with words he had heard over and over in his life, either directed at himself or spoken about werewolves in general by those who didn't know what he was.  It fed into every doubt and insecurity he had, even those he refused to acknowledge, and the evidence of their effect was written clearly on his face.  "No..."

As much as Sirius wanted to show James that no, that wasn't bloody all that he could do, the boy walked away before he could, stopping in front of Remus.  He felt his heart stop as he heard what James had to say.

'Moony...'  It was as if someone was trying to yank his stomach out of his body.  The look on Remus's face told him that there were more important things to do than kill James.

Moony needed him.

Sloshing through the water, and ignoring the feel of a piranha biting into the heel of his boot, he made his way over to the frozen pair.  "C'mon."  He muttered, taking Remus by the arm and pulling him back towards the apartment building.  "And don't you dare think what I think you're thinking."

James ran a hand through his hair; finally rid of the toublesome pair. Nursing his jaw, James walked off to find the nearest seat. He was confused by all that just happened. He sat and reflected on ways to get back at Sirius for punching him. 'I will get him,' he thought to himself. '...when I become the worlds greatest auror and lock him up in Azkaban with the rest of his conniving family.'
