Log;

Zabuza had never been all that good with patience; he'd had to learn it, of course, but it was always a bit of an effort for him. Now especially, when it was Haku he was waiting for, he found himself restless. If he stood, he'd be pacing, so he sat, leaning with his back against a building and his sword lying beside him, ready to his hand in case of a threat.

Haku hurried to the area as fast as he could, pausing every now and then to take in his surroundings. Zabuza's location wasn't really exact, he would have to do some searching. Haku couldn't help the smile that spread across his face as he moved quickly through the streets, all his waiting was now going to pay off. In a few short minutes, Haku's life will be complete once more. Haku rounded a corner and stopped suddenly as he saw a figure leaning against a building carrying a long sword. There was no mistaking it. "Zabuza-san...." He whispered as he came towards him as if in a trance, Haku still wondered...if this was all real or just a dream

At that soft, familiar voice, Zabuza looked up; even under his accustomed bandages, there was no mistaking the smile that spread across his face. "Haku..." It caused him an unexpected pang of emotion -- the last he'd seen of Haku was his death, his sacrifice, and he'd been much more attached to the boy than he'd expected. He'd grieved for him, for the shortness of his remaining life, and here in the City, he'd felt his lack keenly. Now, they were reunited.

Haku could feel his breath hitch in his throat as he looked up at him with his soft brown eyes, blinking ever so slightly. Did he dare believe what he think that he saw? Zabuza-san...was smiling. Haku couldn't really remember if he ever saw him express that kind of emotion before. Haku gave him a warm smile and bowed his head slightly to him. "It is...so good to see you in person once more, Zabuza-san." Haku moved to the left and took his rightful place in life once more, by Zabuza's side.

Moved by something that was relief and warmth -- and all the deep emotion Zabuza had kept carefully repressed, and that had broken free when Haku had sacrificed his life for Zabuza's -- Zabuza reached out and rested his hand lightly on Haku's back, between his shoulderblades. "It's good to see you too," he said quietly. "It did not feel right, lacking you."

A soft breath escaped the small boy's face as he felt the warm touch against his back, he relaxed and pushed himself back into it. It felt so...amazing, Haku found himself taking a deep breath and lean forward into the man. "I promise...I will never leave your side again, Zabuza-san." Haku looked up at him and smiled sweetly at him. "After all...this is were I belong, by your side." Haku rested his head against his chest and ever so slightly, nuzzled into him.

"It is where you belong," Zabuza said firmly, needing to keep some control of himself. The emotions had always been there; the blond kid had forced him to come face-to-face with them, after Haku had died, but he still needed to keep some distance, to remain at least on the face a demon. But Haku leaned against him, and he couldn't help tightening his hold slightly, holding Haku there. "I will hold you to that promise," he said. "You are... not expendable."

A small blush came across Haku's face as he felt Zabuza's hand tighten on him. Haku nodded slowly and closed his eyes as his mind began to wander. It seemed that all of his dreams were coming true, even the dreams that he dare not speak of. Zabuza was now affectionate and he couldn't control his heart skipping a beat every so often at the man's touch. At his last comment Haku latched himself onto Zabuza just a bit, he looked back up at him and smiled one of the biggest smiles he ever had in a long while. The whole matter...left him rather speechless. "Zabuza-san..." He whispered, brushing a strand of hair out of his eyes.

That smile was dazzling. It had been too long since Haku had smiled. The feeling of being so tied to Haku -- the fact that Zabuza had felt such an incredibly gaping absence at his death -- was uncomfortable. Demons didn't need anyone, and the demon of Kirigakure should not be so dependent on one boy and his happiness. But that was the truth. "Haku," he said gently. "I... missed you."

The blush seemed to get deeper at the last comment, Haku soon felt his mouth run dry as he nodded his head at him. "As did I, Zabuza-san...I must admit...I was worried that you wouldn't return to me at all." At that, one of Haku's tiny hands reached up and rested a top of the man's shoulder and rubbed at it gently.

Zabuza's hand moved gently on Haku's back, stroking. "A situation in which you perished, Haku, was one I could not long survive on my own." With the power of Haku's kekkai genkai, that was nothing more than truth. And... "I..." He hesitated for a moment. "I did not believe it was possible that we would end up in the same place," he said quietly. "You have always been so pure, and I... I have not."

Haku tilted his head at that and shook his head. "Oh no, Zabuza-san...I am sure you would survive just as well as I did alone..." The compliments that were coming from Zabuza's mouth where almost starting to become over whelming. Haku couldn't remember the last time he felt so good about himself. "I couldn't be more thankful then to end up in the same place as you, Zabuza-san...I certainly count my blessings." Haku looked down at himself and then back up again, letting out a tiny sigh at the attention his back was getting.

"Hn. Well, I didn't." That much was fact. "I barely made it fifteen minutes after you..." he hesitated. "...After you were gone." The worst memory of his life was Haku's blood splattering on his face and body. "And... I'm glad we're both here. Together." And not in hell. That was something Haku would never deserve.

Haku blinked heavily at that before looking down sadly at his feet. "I had...always hoped that you did survive...even though I knew it was an impossible thing to hope." He then looked back up at him, his smile was now fading and sadness was now apparent in his eyes.
"...Where you...in a lot of pain?" Haku asked and as if out of instinct, he began to slowly look him over before pausing and shaking his head at his own foolishness. He wouldn't have carried the wounds over here with him. Haku's face soon turned blank before peeking up at the tall man once more. Despite his best efforts...he had failed him in the end, he still ended up dieing. And it truly shocked Haku that Zabuza would continue to want him.

"I took out Gatoh," Zabuza said instead of directly answering. His hand had not moved from Haku's back. "He showed up... afterward. With a pathetic gang of thugs, to tell me we were fired." He hesitated slightly; he knew reasonably well what Haku would be thinking, knew the boy well enough to know his thought patterns. "You didn't fail me. I kept fighting, after you died. Kakashi managed to disable my arms. After that..." He shrugged. No real way to win when you couldn't use your arms, but at least he managed to take Gatoh with him.

A small chuckle came from Haku's mouth as he shook his head. "To tell us we were fired...how very interesting." A loud sigh escaped his mouth but then a pause came at Zabuza's reassuring words.
"I am happy to know...that I didn't." A wave of relief seemed to have sweep over Haku, a smile played back on his face as he moved his hand from his shoulder to his cheek where he gently cupped it.
"I was so afraid...that you wouldn't want me anymore after Naruto-kun....defeated me." Haku then started to gently caress his face. The world just seemed to stop on whim and all there was...was Zabuza and himself.

"He was just a small-minded bastard that I could beat with a knife in my teeth and ten spears in my back," Zabuza growled, referring to Gatoh. He didn't mention the way Gatoh had mistreated Haku's body -- even now, the memory made his blood boil. He turned his face into Haku's hand, giving his palm a faint, almost imperceptible nuzzle.
"I'll never stop wanting you around," he said quietly. "Never. I've had a few days without you, and... I don't like it." He reached up and hooked a finger through the wide strip of cloth that covered his mouth and pulled it down.

Haku's eyes seemed to widen in horror at the image that was just projected itself into his brain. "I see..." So it was a rather painful...and terrible death that had fallen upon Zabuza. At his nuzzling however, Haku quickly pushed down all his negative feelings and continued to stroked his face.
Haku's heart seemed to beat faster at his words. "That...makes me very happy to know." Haku's eyes widen again, but this time it was out of curiosity.
"...Zabuza-san?" He asked softly, tilting his head slightly.

The hand slid from Haku's back to his cheek, one rough thumb brushing over the boy's cheekbone. Zabuza studied Haku's face intently, searching it; searching for something, and he couldn't have said quite what. He contemplated him, the full lips, the gentle eyes -- which he knew could become so hard when he became angry -- the bright, intelligent look.
"Haku," he said quietly. "You..." He didn't know what he was going to ask.

His pale cheeks turned pink at his touch, he could swear that his heart stopped at his thumb nuzzling. He pulled himself closer to Zabuza and wondered what exactly the man was looking for. Haku didn't know if he's heart would ever manage to calm down.
"...What is it, Zabuza-san?" Haku managed to push out after a few moments of silence.

Uncertainty was not a preferred habit of Zabuza's, but in this moment, he found himself utterly at a loss. What to do? What could he do? He was no stranger to physical lusts, but but this went beyond that -- far beyond it. Haku had always been pure, in his eyes, an untainted boy no matter how well he fought or how much blood he spilled.
It was not the first time he'd felt desire for the boy. But always, the thought of staining that purity with his carnal touch had held him back. And Haku was so young... but now, it was a more pressing need. He'd lost Haku once. Who knew when they'd be separated again, maybe permanently?
"Will you serve me... in everything?" he asked quietly. "Everything?" He added extra emphasis.

Something indeed was not only on Zabuza's mind...but it was also troubling him. He continued to wait for him, those big brown doe eyes refusing to leave his face. They seemed to be fixed on his lips, a part of the man's body that Haku really never saw. He could feel his toes curl in his shoes in anticipation before his whole body became still as a whole.
After he had muttered those words, Haku had wondered if he really heard him correctly. His curious eyes had now filled in awe. "...Zabuza-san." Came a very tiny whisper out of his thin lips. He didn't take him but a few moments to answer.
"I will serve you in everything...it will not only be my honor...but my want." Haku then did something that he dared not do in the past. He got on his tip toes, closed his eyes, and placed a kiss onto Zabuza's lips. He only gave a small one for he wished to see the reaction, but he could not help his lips lingering on his. He had waited so long for this chance, to actually kiss the man. It had been wonderful, despite it being short. Now he prayed for his approval.

Haku had done it again. Anticipated Zabuza's want, his desire, and taken the difficulty out of it. His lips were soft and sweet against Zabuza's, the kiss innocent as Haku himself, but at the same time, tantalizing and tempting. He could not stop there.
He sat again, his back against the wall of the building, and tugged on Haku's arm, indicating that he wanted him to sit with him. It would be easier than having to lean over, given the difference in their heights.
