Summary; Greed takes Elendira out to apologize for ignoring him/her.

Greed calmly strolled up to the door of Elendira's studio apartment, taking a moment to straighten out his collar before he knocked on the door.

"Elen. Yo, Elen? You home? It's me, Greed."

He waited outside the doorway for a few moments, then tested the door before peeking inside.

"Oh, Eleeeeeeeeen?~♥"

"In here, you silly goose," Elendira called out from behind a bamboo screen. A moment later, he came out, putting his long hair into a bun and securing it with a pair of decorated hair sticks. For the evening's festivities, he decided on an Oriental flare, complete with a pair of geta on his feet. He had to shed the suit for this particular outfit, but he doubted that Greed would mind that little detail too much.

"So? Where are we going?"

"I've found that the roof of the temple is particularly lovely, these days. You can see the springs and the entire city from there. I've already ordered the food for us, so it should be there by the time we arrive."

He looked Elendira over, taking note of the change of outfit.

"Nice duds. You're an absolute vision."

"A rooftop picnic? How delightful," Elendira said, smiling. He turned around in place, showing off a little, and then stepped across the room. "You're looking good too, darling."

"Let's be off then," he smiled, turning in place and offering his arm, "Things have been good with you, lately?"

Taking his arm, Elendira nodded. "It's been interesting. I do miss Knives of course. There's been some enjoyment in the lives of the Stampede and his boyfriend, but otherwise, quiet. You?"

"Same old, same old. Just makin' my way in the world. The springs are pullin' in good money, though, so renovations are in the works. I want to really convert the temple into a resort area."

They walked as they spoke, eventually coming to the forest path and entering. Eyes lit up in the darkness as the moved.

"I'm sorry, Elendira. Ya' know, about Knives goin' and all. I know how much he meant to ya', even if I can't really comprehend how it feels."

He was silent for a moment, wondering how to explain the idea to Greed of all people. The eyes and sounds in the forest didn't bother the Gun - even without his weapon, he was still formidable.

"Think of it like something a part of you that suddenly vanishes. He's like that to me."

Greed struggled to think about it, the only thing he could consider being taken from him was really his freedom. Something Father had kept from him for awhile.

"Yeah, I guess that does suck."

"Well," he tightened his grip on Elendira's hand and brought it to his lips, "You've still got people here to keep ya' company, at least."

Blinking at the move, he was silent for a moment before leaning in and placing a kiss on his cheek.

"You're so right, darling. And I can pick at all the sillies from home still running around here and I don't have to deal with that ugly lot from home like those outsiders."

They soon ascended the steps of the temple, upon which Greed opened the doors and ushered his date through. He removed his vest and shoes, then headed down the hallway, grabbing several large packages from the kitchen.

"This way, Elen," he said, walking down the hallway and up the stairs to the sixth floor. He opened a door to the roof and held it open.

He kicked off his geta and followed Greed, stepping lightly through the open doorway and looked at the view.

"Oh my, it is nice from up here.," Elendira said, looking over his shoulder at Greed. "I think you picked an excellent spot, darling."

"Thanks, babe," he said, brushing by him and placing the packages down. He pulled a comforter out of a bag and unfurled it, then placed down two cushions and some silverware. Two bottles of sake and a kettle of hot tea also came from another package. Several plates of pastry and italian food were laid out.

"Have a seat," he said, gesturing to the cushion next to him, "Stuff is nice and hot."

From their vantage point, they could see right into the city on one side, and a close up view of the spring on the other.

Elendira took a seat, folding her legs demurely as she sat and leaned a little against him. He didn't make a grab for the food, instead, he looked over the city, picking out the lights and trying to fit in where people lived. Then he reached for a cup of sake.

"This is so very thoughtful, Greed."

"Naturally, babe. You're one of the people precious to me, so I don't mind."

He portioned off some fettucini alfredo for himself and his lover, then broke off a piece of italian break with garlic.

"I decided to switch it up from my usual meals. I don't have italian often."

"I usually have curry or miso so this is a treat," Elendira replied, dimpling at being called 'precious'. He had been called 'important' but usually that was right before they go destroy one town or another back on Gunsmoke. Although it was nice when Legato paid him some attention outside of work.

He dug into the plate, being careful not to slop all over his silk dres.

Greed's jaws sheared easily through a piece of chicken parmesan from another plate, before he washed it down with a deep swig of sake.

"I like treatin' ya'. I figure a lifetime of hard-livin' on the desert means you deserve a nice break. If it were up to me, I'd give you treats all the time."

Elendira could eat a lot but he still liked to be dainty about it. It went with all the care he took to wear the clothing and make up like he did. As for being spoilt, well, it was a nice change of pace, but he wouldn't enjoy it all the time, not wanting to lose his edge.

"That is sweet of you, darling, but really, I wouldn't want to see you come to harm if you cross Bluesummers or Knives."

He grinned and slurped up the last bit of pasta, then laid back and stared up into the night sky, watching the stars.

"I'm not AFRAID of Legato and Knives, though. The only reason I never visited more was because I knew the animosity was mutual, and I didn't want to take the chance the anger might get taken out on you for associating with me."

"You think that you can fight them?" He blinked at Greed and then shook his head, taking a sip of the sake. Finishing the last of her food - using the crust of his slice of bread to mop up the sauce - he chewed thoughtfully. "Hm, that shield may help you against the angel-knives, but I am not sure about the other abilities. And I may have to fight you if it comes down to that."

Licking the last of the crumbs off his fingers and looked up. "Alright, that is a depressing thought."

"I've already thought it out, but it's a moot point. I was more wary of Knives than Legato. His little wires need to TOUCH the right area to control me, and my shield negates that."

He couldn't resist a laugh and reached over to give a playful swat to Elendira's rear.

"Don't get all serious on me. Like I said, it's all moot. Let's have some more sake!"

"Knives? I suppose so," he begun to say and then squeaked at swat, blinking at Greed for a moment or two like he never expected that. But taking a deep breath, he reached over and refreshed both their glasses.

"True. Let's see, gossip or something else?"

"Dunno," he said, sitting up to retake his glass, "Depends on the 'something else' you mean, babe."

"Oh you know me, always wanting a good time," Elendira replied, looking at him for longer than necessary before leaning back to watch the night's stars. "I still think it's odd, looking up and only seeing one moon. I guess some things are hard to get used to."

"That's all this place needs, I guess," he said, leaning slightly over his body and dragging his finger along the underside of Elendira's jaw, "Some gettin' used to. The curses make that pretty hard, though."

Leaning into the touch, he smiles and takes a sip of sake. "Some curses can be fun. Too bad you were a child that one time; I was a woman for two whole days~"
