Summary;  Lust is lust, Kakuzu is Kakuzu, and the entire night and most of tomorrow is spent finding this out the easiest way possible.

He hated waiting more than anything else in the entire world, and yet, he found himself doing it more and more the longer he stayed in the City. It didn't help that the...Homunculus named Lust was, no doubt, either entirely joking about her proposition to him or making him wait at the entrance to the Lux on purpose.

' Where is she,' he thought to himself, chewing the inside of his lip rather violently.

Lust had never been one to resist temptation in any form, so it was only natural to her to be..."fashionably late." She'd honestly been surprised that this whatever-he-was had so quickly taken her up on what she had intended to be a quip, but she'd never had many standards by way of needing to like someone in order to have a little fun with them. And after nearly three-hundred years of practice, she knew how to make sure it was always worth her while.

So here she was.

"Darling," she purred, leisurely making her way towards the figure obviously waiting for her. "So sorry for the delay. I didn't keep you long, did I~?"

As he took all of her in with one glance, Kakuzu noted how...casual the Homunculus was about her lateness and realized rather easily that, yes, she had been making him wait for her on purpose.

"...Have I been waiting long?" he parroted, uncrossing his arms as he closed the distance between them, a small smile beginning to spread across his face, "Define 'long', first, and then we'll talk~"

"Let's say a year," Lust said lightly, "So don't get too worked up over it. You'll give yourself a wrinkle~"

As she teased, the homunculus filed some mental notes about the person before her. He definitely wasn't human. Interesting. As of this moment, Lust wasn't sure what to catagorize him as, so she contented herself to merely observe.

"So where are we headed, Kakuzu?" she lilted. "Inside, or somewhere else?"

Kakuzu stifled a small chuckle at her comment, and, in an effort to keep her from seeing this, was already making his way to the entrance of the Lux as she finished her second question. "A year's nothing to me," he said, nonchalantly, as he opened the door for her. "But I appreciate you coming here early, nonetheless. Most women wouldn't."

"One year is nothing," Lust said flippantly, stepping inside. "But I thought I'd give you a break since this is our first date."

She turned to look at him with her friendliest smile. Lust was used to playing a role for men to get what she wanted, and she was fairly good at discerning what they responded to the best. From what she'd observed, this one liked sharp humor and something of an edge, but probably wanted to think she didn't hate him.

"So what's good here? I don't often come for the culinary experience."

"I could imagine," he said, still smirking as he followed her inside. "This is my first time here, though, so anything you're up to I am."

Kakuzu knew that he was being too accommodating. That he was, rather stupidly, giving too much away all at once, but it didn't matter. If Lust had wanted him dead, she would have tried to kill him by now, and telling her the truth in an effort to see what kind of person she was would serve him better than trying to the same thing through lies.

"I'm not all that hungry, honestly," Lust said with something of a smirk. She wasn't really in the mood to eat just to appear more like a mortal. Kakuzu already knew she wasn't human. She didn't see the point of acting out a charade.

Kakuzu slowly guided them both towards the bar while they walked, his mind trying to settle on something that he would be mildly "safe" to drink around someone such as Lust.

"Something aged, preferably," he said, standing next to the bar as he waited for Lust to take a seat. "Maybe a nice bottle of Koshu Sake, for old time's sake."

"Something aged?" Lust purred, having a seat. "Does that apply to more than one area of your tastes?"

As she spoke she crossed her legs and demurely trailed her hand down her thigh to smooth her skirt. If anything, two or three hundred years had taught her a thing or two about getting the opposite sex's attention.

Kakuzu made a small noise in the back of his throat somewhere between a snort and a laugh at the insinuation she was making, quickly tapping twice on the counter of the bar to try and get the barkeep's attention.

"You'll just have to wait and see to find out," the Sower said, his eyes reflecting his slight amusement. "After all, where's the fun in giving everything away on the first date?"

"Don't expect too many of these, darling," Lust said matter-of-factly. "I have no reason to 'date' you since I'm only here for one thing. If you're thinking I might be interesting to try and pursue a relationship, you're really kidding yourself."

Her catlike eyes flicked to look at Kakuzu with an almost dangerous smirk.

"And I never give everything away if I can help it."

Her honesty was refreshing, to say the least.

"I never expect anything, in this life," Kakuzu replied, leaning onto the arm he had just propped up onto the bar as the tone of his voice became decidedly harsher than what it had been. "But whenever I see something of importance or interest to me, I tend to pursue it until it is mine."

He stretched, then, and, sending small trail of thread out of the palm of his hand, grabbed the nearest bottle of what he hoped was something alcoholic.

"For ill or worse."

Now that was better. Lust preferred an edge to glazed-over courtesy. At least now he seemed more honest.

"So you hope to make me yours?" she remarked, noting his string work. "Are you going to tie me down with one of those threads until I break?"

"Perhaps."

Kakuzu shrugged at her question, already busying himself with the task of opening the bottle of...wine? he had practically stolen.

"But, again, that's not something you find out on our first meeting."

"Hm," Lust mused with a slight smirk. "They're probably going to want you to pay for that, you know."

"I know," Kakuzu replied rather nonchalantly, making sure to hide the fact that the black thread he was manipulating was coming out from inside of him with a rather simple sleight of hand.

"Would you like a glass?" he asked, offering her one of the two wine glasses that had "magically" appeared in his hand.

"Why not?" Lust purred. "It's not like you could poison me anyway."

She leaned back in the stool in a laid-back manner and watched her companion for a while.

"Something tells me you're not unexperienced with this sort of thing."

Hm. What did she mean by that, he wondered.

"I could say the same about you," Kakuzu mused more to himself than to Lust, pouring himself a glass of whatever he had pulled off the shelf.

"What gave you that idea?" Lust laughed. "The fact that I am Lust, or the fact I wear my neckline so low?"

"Both, though neither is something that I would complain about," Kakuzu said, his smirk still rather prominent.

"No?" Lust said, uncrossing and then recrossing her legs. "That just goes to show that all men are the same; human or not."

Kakuzu stifled the laughter that bubbled up into his throat, setting aside his glass before he knocked it over.

"Please," he began, still laughing. "Don't even try to compare me to other men. It simply won't work."

Lust snorted.

"Yes, it will. You're male aren't you? So you have something in common with them. Arrogance will be your downfall, darling."

"You're not the first one to tell me so." Kakuzu said, rolling his eyes. "And yet, he's been long dead some hundred years and I'm still floating around."

"Oh, God, we're not going to start sharing about our pasts here, are we?" Lust said, growing bored. Honestly, as touching as this was, if they were going to get down to it, she'd rather they start already.

No one ever said sins had to be patient.
