Log;

Somehow during the day, Motoko had managed to find a bag, heater, kettle, and tea to her liking. She held it over her back and wandered towards the top of the apartment building. As she reached the top, she noticed only one other person on the roof. "You must be Miss Shizune?" She smiled warmly and approached, bowing.

"Ah, Motoko." Shizune stood where she had been kneeling beside Jan Valentine, the vampire still showing no response, despite the fact that she had completely healed all the wounds he had sustained, with the exception of the faint scars he would carry. She hoped he would be revived by the City soon. She was beginning to worry, and it showed on her face. "Thank you so much for coming." Shizune smiled. She'd had breakfast with Megumi that morning, and a light snack for lunch, but with that exception she hadn't left the rooftop, staying by her patient's side in case he should awake.

"It is my pleasure." She looked past at the body lying on the ground. "I...hope that your acquaintance is alright..." She sat down on the ground, laying her sword next to her, and set up a small battery powered heater, set the kettle on top and poured a bottle of water inside. "I'm afraid this is the best I could do in this city, I have not yet found my way around completely."

"Ah, no, it's perfectly acceptable." Shizune seated herself once more, smiling. "In fact, much more than acceptable. I appreciate the company, and it's always nice to meet new faces." She absently tucked the blanket over Jan in around his shoulders. "When did you arrive in the City?"

"I found myself entering the town just before the curse began. I still don't understand exactly how I was led here through my dream, but questioning that seems futile at this point." She closed her eyes for a second, as if trying to remember something. "Oh yes! I was lucky enough to find a place to stay last night, but I have yet to find my own residence. Do you know where I need to go to acquire one?" She checked the water, and satisfied began to mix herbs from her bag into the water.

"I found my way here through a dream too. In fact, I acted my first day as if it was. Made myself appear very foolish by doing such." Shizune nodded. "I ended up rooming with an enemy of mine when I first came just to know someone. I still am, actually. From what I hear though, you just... claim one. Their all open, the empty ones anyway, and once you establish yourself it seems to be yours."

"I see. Well, I suppose I can claim one here tonight, rather than wander the town another night." She closed her eyes and inhaled, letting the soothing scent of her family's recipe calm her. She poured two cups of the tea, and pulled out a third, empty cup. "When we are finished, I can leave the rest here for you and your friend in case he wakes up."

"Thank you. I'm not sure if Jan will truly appreciate it, he seems more like an alcohol drinker. But I know I will." Shizune smiled, the scent of the tea was soothing to her. "Your world... what it is like?"

"I can think of no word other than normal. I come from near Tokyo in the year 2005. I'm the successor to a dojo and a master of kendo. Our dojo focuses on using the energy within to materialize attacks. I come from a family of demon slayers, and when I'm not training or studying I usually work at the local temple." She picked up a cup and sipped the tea, the familiar taste soothing her even more. "And how about you? Was your world very different?"

"Quite." Shizune smiled, sipping her own tea and making a happy sigh. "I'm a ninja, and resided in Konohagakure, a ninja village. A lot of the technology here was, and still is, unfamiliar to me. There seemed to always be a war going on between one country or another. I am a healer, and aid to the leader of my village." She nodded. "This tea is very good."

"Thank you, it is an old family recipe, and has given me the strength to train for many hours. It also helped me to keep focused during study sessions to get into my college." She looked around at the city, catching a glimpse of the carousel. She focused in on it, again trying to determine the nature of the contraption. "The carousel, I can't help but feel an evil aura about it. I was warned to stay away. This town seems to contain many mysteries."

"I've heard tell that the carousel is the cause of the ticking sound one hears when you're alone. Sort of like... a big clock." She took another sip of her tea. "And mysteries we have here in plenty."

"I should be too used to them for this to bother me, however for some reason I feel as though I should be exorcising whatever demonic presence resides in it." She sipped her tea and then chuckled. "I'm sorry, I do not mean to get so serious about such a trivial matter." She stood as the sun began to set and watched. "You have a nice view from the top of your building."

"It's not trivial." Shizune was serious. "Nothing in this City is trivial, that is one thing I know." She nodded, finishing off her tea. "It is a very nice view, but it reminds me I need to move my patient inside." She looked over to Jan, whose form was substantially larger than her own. "I don't suppose I could ask you to assist? If not I can ask a roommate, so no pressure."

"It would be no problem. I suppose I could scope out a possible room myself while we're down there." She packed up the remaining tea and the heater, taking care to make sure a lid was secured. "I can leave the remainder with you when we get to your room." She grabbed her sword again and stood, ready to carry the patient.

"Thank you." Shizune moved to the head of the small cot she'd rolled Jan onto, muscles tensing as she prepared to lift. She was stronger than she looked, most ninja were, but she still needed assistance with this.

Motoko walked to the other end and slowly and carefully lifted his legs, following Shizune's lead. "How did he get into this condition, if you don't mind me asking?"

Shizune let the younger woman down the roof to the stairs, where it was difficult to not jostle the wounded vampire. "He was affected by the curse yesterday, and got into a rather severe fight. A friend brought him here and I healed him." They got to room 3, and managed to get Jan laid down in the corner of the main room, near the door, should he wake during the night and wish to leave. "Thank you for your assistance, Motoko, and the tea."

Motoko handed the kettle with the rest of the tea to Shizune and bowed. "It was my pleasure, and thank you for the company. I think I'm going to find a room now, so if you ever wish to have tea again I should be nearby." She smiled and hoisted her bag back onto her shoulder. "Goodbye for now!"

"Good luck!" Shizune smiled and opened the door. "Do tell me where you've roomed once you've established yourself, and thanks again for the tea."
