LOG; [ONGOING]

when; Saturday, February 9th.
rating; TBA.
characters; Doumeki [[livejournal.com profile] monsterepellant], Fai [[livejournal.com profile] hyuing], Kurogane [[livejournal.com profile] ninja_ing], Sandalphon [[livejournal.com profile] bemymommyplease], Setsuna [[livejournal.com profile] sin_sacrum].
summary; This would be the mission to return Sakura her three stolen feathers, but not without great difficulty.
log;

After poking his head through the window of the apartment curiously at the loud noise of clashing swords, Fai didn’t waste anything other than a soft chuckle, wondering what sort of problems they would have to deal with if one of their party were affected by the latest curse. They’re packing light, predictably, though to the casual observer it appears that his outfit consists of a bit more than what’s necessary for a mission like this.

Bent over to finish the last gold clasp, the mage waits by the door to their shared apartment, unusually quiet as he weighs the possible outcomes. At the very least, Sakura-chan is safely under the protection of Yuuko-san, and he’s fairly sure that the amount of magic he has left will be able to do the trick, but he can’t be too sure. Since he hasn’t particularly done anything strenuous lately after the loss of his eye, there really isn’t any telling how this might end. But, who could really tell the future if it always seemed to shift and vary with the circumstances?

There isn’t any hiding the fact that Fai’s smile his hollow as he and Kurogane finally make their way over to knock on Doumeki’s door, grab his things, and head out to the entrance of the building to wait for Setsuna. Thankfully, the plan to get down to the docks and secure their boat is an easy one, but it’s what’s ahead that might be the difficult thing.

I'll just make things easier and play for both Kuro and Doumeki >.>;

The ninja was fairly silent as well as they made their way downstairs, peering once at the just as silent archer. Doumeki was an interesting kid--he hadn't had much of a chance to get to know him yet, but what discussions he had had with him had proved that he was obviously very aware of his surroundings, but there was a quietness to the kid that Kurogane couldn't quite but his finger on. He had the physique of an archer, so he expected the bow and arrows, but the addition of the sword strapped to the boy's side cause a raised eyebrow.

Doumeki seemed to notice his gaze, and merely titled his head upwards to give the ninja a fairly blank look, and Kurogane shrugged to himself, and made a mental note to ask about it later. For now, they had a task to do.

In a concealed pocket in his uniform he could feel the slightly weight of the item Yuuko had given him when he had brought Sakura over that morning--it would take down Sandalphon's wards. Now all they needed was to wait for one more, and then get going.

When he felt Sara and Lil - heck, the whole Firehouse when it came to it - was safe, in one sense or another, Setsuna headed out. Unlike the others, he took practically nothing with him but his jacket and the sword, Nanatsusaya, though concealed as a bracelet on his wrist; an ornate thing, but light weight.

Not wanting the masses of sword-crazy cursed head hunters to slow him down, Setsuna risked flying, released his three wings and took to the air. There was, he felt, no point in worrying over what Fai, Kurogane or Doumeki would think about him being an angel, for they were bound to find out, and if they trusted him to help, the angelic fact shouldn't matter.

Once the building was in sight, he landed carefully and his wings vanished in a flurry of shuddering feathers, leaving only a few fluffy white ones to scatter in the wind.

Setsuna nodded to the others, and even managed a little grin, feeling secure in their plan and hopeful, for Sakura's sake. Still, his voice was low, almost hesitant, as he said, "Hey there. I'm ready."

If Doumeki was shocked, he didn't really show it. He had become accustom to these sorts of things while in the City.

The ninja he was standing next to didn't seem to react much either, except for the raise of an eyebrow.

"The warp gate is over this way." Doumeki pointed toward the gates at the edge of the center that would instantly transfer them through the forest to the beach where the speedboat was waiting.

"You don't need to thank me," Setsuna told Fai, though he nodded to Doumeki and started heading towards the gate at once. Outwardly, Setsuna's relief in their lack of reactions showed in full as the blond smiled calmly. But soon that calm gave way to anxiousness for their plans once again.

Palms sweaty - even in this cold - he tightened his hands into fists, shoved them in his pockets while trying to breathe normally and reminding himself this would all be over quickly. This time, he didn't have anything to fear approaching Sandalphon.

The archer accepted the blond's help, climbing into the boat and settling down in the passenger seat.

The ninja, however, would wait until everyone, including Fai, was on first, before he got on himself.

Setsuna accepted Fai's hand with a slight smile, and settled in after Doumeki, his worries and confidence constantly in battle with each other. Perhaps it was this thinking that prevented him from arguing about the procedure onto the boat. If it was, it was a gift, for that would have just held everyone up.

As to the power of Sandalphon, Setsuna needed no one to tell him of that either. He already knew from past experience, and felt he could handle it better this time. When Fai asked if he was ready, Setsuna answered back, "Ready."

Kurogane climbed easily into the boat, though granted, he did almost fall over at the unexpected rocking motion. So he sat down, quickly, in order to keep from making too much of a fool of himself.

Doumeki glanced over at Setsuna for a brief moment at Fai's comment, before checking to make sure that they were untied, and starting the engine--he would leave them to talk as the boat began to move, slowly picking up speed and heading towards the island.

Setsuna caught enough of Kurogane's imbalanced moment to chuckle a bit, but the overwhelming feel of the situation prevented any more merriment out of the brat. Besides, it wouldn't have been all that funny if Kurogane had fallen in.

Fai's comment got a light smile from Setsuna and he said back, "I know. Actually...you guys did all the real work. If it had just been me, I would've stormed the place, called him out, and gone after him without any plan." He was reckless like that, even now, because those plans usually worked for him. "This is better."

But, it was also, in part, the fact he wasn't working alone that bothered him. What if Sandalphon went after the others later? Fai helped ease Setsuna's thoughts, however, and he decided to just stop worrying over it and focus on the current matter - getting across.
