Log;

With Jack Krauser now in the City and Horizon up and functioning, it looked as if his luck had changed. A little adjustments here and there were, of course, needed, but that was to be expected. He had calculated that into the whole scheme of things, despite the surprise of Krauser's arrival.

He had even planned the evening out a few days ago. After the meeting with his investors, he decided it would be best to kick his plan into gear and begin testing Phase I of the regeneration product as well as begin the next line of biological weaponry he had planned. And with no one to oppose him, he hadn't any worry. He just needed to find a test subject.

It was a dark night and the cold of the winter month stung at the exposed skin of his face. It was dead, to say the least, what with most normal people having gone to bed and the nocturnals hunting in the underground. Maybe that was why he chose this time - the wee hours of the morning were exceptional for the hunt. The drunks, the nobodies; they wandered the streets at these times in their drug-induced stupors. It was all too easy for one of them to suddenly disappear. And, the best thing about it was that nobody gave a damn.

It was a woman who had caught his eye. She was wrapped around a flickering light-post, laughing into a bottle of tequila. No one else was with her and she seemed all too keen on drinking herself to death. Her makeup, which had probably looked just as tasteless as she did at the beginning of the evening, was now running down her tanned face. Whatever sorrows had graced her this evening, Wesker didn't care. She was perfect just as she was now; he couldn't have asked for a better target.

"An-and fuck Larry too.." She drawled, her body half leaning over as she clutched to the pole. Her head was slightly tilted, her grin partly lopsided across that smeared face of hers. She was shit-faced, that was no doubt. But, it seemed like it was more a mixing of two toxins than just the Mexican liquor that was dangling precariously from her right hand. From where Wesker was, he could see a light white coding across her lips.

A drug addict on top of it all. How wonderful.

"Go ahead! L-leave me here; I'm a strong gal. I'm-a gunna make myself the best dancer in all'uv the City. You'll see.." She was stumbling from the light post, trying to head in a clear direction without tripping over the heaps of trash that had been left behind from the evening's festivities. That was when Wesker made his move. In one quick dash, he was at her back, tranquilizer dart in her neck. One leather-glad glove made sure to hold her upright while the other clamped over her mouth. She didn't make too much of a fuss and it didn't take her long to fall under the drug's spell.

"Goodnight, fair lady." Wesker murmured as he dragged her back into the darkness. Like a phantom, he disappeared back from whence him came, making sure to take a route which was not heavily used. However, he made sure to come up with an excuse, should the law be patrolling at this hour. Thankfully, he met no opposition as he made his way back into the confounds of Horizon's base.

It didn't take him long to get the woman cleaned up and prepped for the study. He had hooked her up to an IV to make sure her fluids would be balanced before removing healthy amounts of blood and tissue samples for testing. She would not wake for the next twenty-four hours, but in case there was an incident, he made damn sure to have a watcher on her while he examined the samples he had retrieved. It would be another day or two before he could begin testing, of course, but that did not deter him. Once she was ready, he could begin where he left off. And, then, Umbrella would be one step closer to its reestablishment.

The thought sent chills up the Tyrant's spine and he couldn't help but to peel back his lips in a horrible grin as he loaded the first slide under the microscope.
