Log; Ongoing
When; Today, August 18th
Rating; G
Characters; Rinali and Ren-fah (Others? It's a party!)
Summary; The two girls meet at Café Juliet for sundaes.
Log;
Ren had been sure, at least before she left, to leave Akira a note telling him where she would be for most of the afternoon. An ice cream sundae was an excellent snack for a summer day, and something she hadn't had the chance to eat in a long time. It always made her feel better, so it would be an ideal aid in helping her to cheer Rinali up!
Or so Ren-logic told her.
The café almost looked like something out of a movie, maybe even a fairytale, or so she told herself as the said structure grew closer in the distance. Friendly, cozy, almost like a light in the dark for a place like the City. But enough about the café, there was someone more important there now, walking ahead of her.
"Rinali-san!" Beaming a smile, she lifted a hand and enthusiastically made an attempt to wave at the girl, who currently showed Ren her back, while she attempted to push herself into a jog. It worked, at least long enough to bring her to her goal, before she fell into a leisurely step to match Rinali's own.

...well, a little interaction with people didn't hurt, either. She'd implicitly stated she wanted to be alone -- but in truth, she wanted the opposite right now, for reasons unknown.
"So~ now that we're here, I'd be more than happy to pay for your sundae, too," she offered politely, tucking the tissue back into her pants pocket. "If that's okay!"

Why did boys need such big pockets?
"Mou, Akira's pockets ate my wallet." She fussed aloud, tongue poking out of the corner her mouth as if she were in a deep fit of concentration. "Ah," she proudly waggled the wallet at Rinali once she had secured it before opting to observe the menu.
"What kind of sundae, now? There are so many.."

Looking up at the menu for herself, Rinali bit her lip in thought... there were a lot of choices! If Akito-nii-chan were here, he'd have a field day and want to eat all of them.
"Mm... oh, something with sprinkles, maybe? Ooh, and hot fudge! You can't have a sundae without hot fudge, it's like a law all over the world." She flashed Ren a big grin.

With that thought in mind, she pointed to a sundae on the menu, the sundae that made all other sundaes look like child-sized ice cream cones. Triple scoops, double fudge, loads of sprinkles, it was the perfect sundae, even if it was bound to make a stomach or two ache later.
"Mm, that one! You don't have to repay me, you know? Rinali-san is my friend."

At the second part of Ren's statement, though, she blushed a little... and then felt a small pang of guilt ring through her; she'd been a bit wary of her when she'd arrived in the city, mostly because of her connection with Agito. But in her mind, he had no time for her nowadays -- and Ren was really sweet after all, not what she'd been expecting.
"Ah... thanks, Ren. I don't know you too well, but I think I can definitely call you a friend, huh?"
Before she could say anything more than that, though, she sneezed. "Eep! Oh, where's that tissue..."

After a tiny pause, namely one to show her surprise for how large the sundaes seemed to be, she gave Rinali one of her sweeter smiles. "Rinali-san was worried, ne? That Agito and I were close? It's actually the opposite, or it used to be. We weren't friends for awhile. He's a difficult person to understand and," she winked, "He's so shy around girls."
"Ah, bless you! Here, you can have mine!"
no subject
After taking a few bites, she continued, "You really are a good cook. Akito-nii-chan and Agito really like my cooking, too... we should cook together one of these days! Throw a big feast for everyone~" She'd been looking forward to that much, at least, it would give her a welcome break from cooking eggs for nii-chan all the time. She had to show off her skills!
When Ren mentioned that she and Agito weren't friends, however, her eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Really? But the way you two were talking, it was like you two were friends for years... mm... but I agree. He's really quite stubborn, and sometimes the things he says are rather... confusing."
She sighed, taking another big bite of her sundae. "But as for the girl thing? If the way he squirms and screams at Simca for playing around with him all the time is any indication, then yes."
no subject
"I'd like that very much, and I'm sure everyone else would too. Yoshitsune-san is having a sausage party soon, maybe we could ask him if he needs help?"
Ren laughed, eyes squinting a little as she peered at her reflection in her spoon. "Years? Mm, more like a couple of months, him and I almost had an AT battle, if that says anything about our previous relationship." It was still awkward, she inwardly mused, when Agito asked her to cook for him, or comforted her in his own, strange little way.
"Ah! That's because Simca-san is well-endowed! Agito's afraid of them."
no subject
She ate the spoonful up, then went on, "Well, he and I have sort of gotten into fights before, too... and he had been training me a little when I first got my ATs, but having an actual battle with him must be scary, huh?" In her mind, she secretly hoped that she wouldn't ever make him that mad. "Er, so... I shouldn't ask, but who won?"
Tilting back in her chair, she giggled a little, amused by the fact that Simca's breasts scared him. "I think girls with big chests like that would scare a lot of people... now I guess I'm glad I'm not like that!"
no subject
She knitted her brows a little, in mid-bite of chocolate ice cream, before she chose to answer. "Akira," she began, before removing the spoon from her mouth. "I wasn't scared, I told myself that I would win but--" Ren trailed off before shooting Rinali a smile. "I wouldn't have won, Akira knew that. He.. fought in my place."
Shaking off the past, she rested her chin against her hand and waggled her spoon at her. "They're Simca-san's dangerous weapons."
no subject
Afterwards, she set it back down and looked at Ren with a sympathetic gleam in her eye. "I see... that's actually a rather sweet thing of him to do," she said, nodding resolutely. "To have someone defend you like that... it's almost like the fairy tales that Komui used to read to me when I was younger, about the princess being rescued from the dragon by her brave knight." Smiling sweetly, she added, "I think every girl wants someone like that in their lives, whether they want to admit it or not."
Dangerous weapons, huh? Well, if Kazu's shouting about them attacking him when he least expected it was any indication... Rinali choked back a laugh at the thought, picking her spoon back up to dig back into the sundae.
