She had been nervous enough without being dressed like some overstuffed porcelain doll, and of course the meeting had to happen when she was in such a ridiculous state. And could barely walk. With how Father Remington talked about the Great Mary Magdalene, the girl was probably some amazing goddess of grace and beauty and all that jazz. And here she was, some orphan girl who's greatest skill was burping the ABCs backwards.
She grumbled something incoherent as they walked through the Opera House, stomping her feet as she walked, a great amount of the dress hauled up into her arms so she could step. “I swear, of all the days you two choose...”
