Summary; Joshua shares his cake to a greatful Eve.
Log;
Pacing an invisible line with Rock, her small stuffed companion, just outside the grandiose opera theatre, Eve listened to the soft echo of her footfalls along the stone path. With her teddy bear there to keep her company the youngster smiled, surveying her surroundings for approximately the fifteenth time in the last several moments, big blue perceptive eyes picking out passers by to analyze their reactions to her presence.
Cocking her head, the young blonde listened hazily to a pair of older women as they bickered. Worked up over a Shakespearean quote, arguing over ‘flicking a thumb at someone’, they passed by Eve without a single flicker of awareness. She sighed happily. Strange quotes really didn’t matter when there was a friend on the way, and cake. Yes; yummy, crazy, colorful cake.
“Do you think Joshua come?” She whispered, knowing somehow, Rock who was carefully tucked under Eve’s arm, would hear and respond. The bear took on Eve’s more nervous persona. The girl petted her friends head.
“Of course Joshua will like you - He’s nice!” She stated, hopeful. It was then her eyes flickered towards a break in a small crowd at a strange but kind looking man, who’s face was quite different than any she’d seen before. She wondered if it was indeed Joshua.

He had the cake in a battered cardboard box under one arm, and was watching the passersby with a cautious, but curious gaze, his breath coming in soft, excited pants.
He was outside. Around people, who weren't running and screaming and freaking out. Outside.
He was thinking he rather liked this city.
"Eve?" He sniffed a little at the air. "Is someone -- Eve?"

“I’m Eve.” She mumbled shyly, eyes finally resting on the origins of the voice, someone closer to her than she had expected. Was he shy too? She stilled her own urge to run and seek Melissa, but Melissa was busy, Melissa might not let her play with Joshua. Instead she held up her bear sheepishly.
“This… This is Rock.”

“It’s nice to meet you too.” She stated, a little to matter-of-factly than she meant it. Taking back her hand, she used it to pull a neatly folded piece of paper from her pocket and offered it to the man. A gift.
“We made you a drawing…”

Looking at the box in anticipation, Eve wondered how much you could eat before you became sick.

“I don’t mind…” she offered, using her sincerest voice. She would quite happily eat as much as he’d allow her to have if she had to eat it from a rusty shovel. Giggling to herself, her own imagination temporarily stuck in a scenario where she was eating from a crude rusty shovel. She jiggled Rock.
“And he doesn’t mind either."

“How about the place next to my room?” She asked, remembering the large storeroom she had been able to get into and many a time converted into a cubby fort.

“It’s really busy today.” Eve commented referring to the various people rushing around. But before he had a chance to comment they were there, standing in front of the big brown door. Turning the knob, and pushing forwards it revealed a relatively normal storeroom, but with various blankets and simple toys in one of the corners under a small window..
“I hope it’s ok…”

"It's nice! Very nice. Joshua likes it,"

“Great!”
Smiling proudly, happy to have found somewhere her friend had liked, she lead the way, unfolding a blanket on the floor, sitting in one of the sheets corners before placing Rock next to her.
“Lets have a picnic.” She added patting a spot next to her in a ‘have-a-seat’ manner.

Eve asked generally interested in why it was his first. She herself was on her third picnic, at least taht she remembered. Maybe he had forgotten too.
"Happy picnic day!"
