Log;

It was bright, the gloom of the previous day's rain having faded some time ago. The grass was lush, green with a splattering of color as far as the eye could see (sort of). That was why Goku had chosen Xanadu in the first place; not only was it spacious, but it also reminded him of home. Earth...he wondered how everyone was doing...

Goku shook off that thought, though, instead turning his attention to more important things: namely the pending lesson with Soujiro. After what Kenshin had told him, Goku was hesitant to teach Soujiro anything, but since he had already said he would, backing out didn't sit well with him either. Therefore, he'd decided to talk to the young man and try to figure out just what to do about this.

And so Goku waited (he had gotten there early), sitting Indian style on the grass, his arms folded over his chest as he considered the questions he would ask and what he would do depending on the answers he was given. His eyes were closed, face calm, so it almost looked like he was meditating, and maybe he was...or something close to it anyway. Still, he was extremely alert to his surroundings, enough to where he would know if someone (or something) approached.

It was nearly eleven, he noted, and still no Soujiro. It was fine, though. Goku was patient after all, and they had all the time in the world.

Soujiro approached the meeting place with a box full of sweet buns - because, well, he liked sweet buns. Also because he was late, and he figured it couldn't hurt to at least make an effort to look like he was being friendly. Friendlier than usual, anyway, since it wasn't like Soujiro was anything but enthusiastically polite. Goku would probably look right over that.

He'd seen Himura speaking with the man just after him, and while there wasn't anything about him out in the open it was probably fair to assume the swordsman had been running his mouth behind filters. Kenshin was nothing if not incredibly predictable, and he was definitely the sort who would warn whoever would listen. It made Soujiro's 'completely harmless' image a moot point, but what could he do?

He could smile sweetly at Xanadu's beautiful scenery, and shrug off any nagging thoughts about the whole situation. In the end, flying probably wouldn't matter too much, he could already run straight up walls and across the ceiling with the Shuukuchi. There was no way a person like Kenshin could really beat him, no matter what Shishio said. He was strong.

"Ah, hello," he waved towards the man sitting in the grass, holding out the pastries as though they were a peace offering, looking cheerful, "Goku-san?"

Goku didn't look quite like he expected, but then again, not much in the City did. Cheerful, at least. Maybe Soujiro had overestimated Kenshin, and he hadn't been warned at all.

Still, his stature was impressive - more muscles than even Anji. Definitely a fighter. For a second, Soujiro almost regretted not bringing along his sword, but he figured it wouldn't have given off a very good impression if he was armed.

"Good!" The heavy storming from the other day was gone, and even though there were people everywhere disappearing, Soujiro was totally unaffected. Normal people might have at least been worried about what was happening to their friends, but not him. "You?"

Soujiro watched for a moment before settling on the ground and setting the box with the rest of the pastries down next to them. Having suppressed his ability to experience emotion meant that he didn't have to spend any time meditating to achieve the appropriate level of calmness and clarity required for sword fighting.

He still knew how, though. He figured that's what Goku had been doing when he arrived, and what he would have to do to learn to fly (if the man's warnings about a need for patience had been any indication.) It didn't sound like the most exciting way to learn, but he had promised that he wasn't easily frustrated by such things.

"Ah, about two weeks now!" he answered, tilting his head to make sure he'd counted the days right in his mind, before adding in a nod. "I'm not sure I'm used to it yet, either!"
