Tosh had a new dress, just like the first time she met Tony for an evening out. This time, however, instead of waiting for him at the Lux, he'd picked her up in his flying car. Which Tosh felt was far superior to any kind of limo service.

Tony was ready and waiting for Tosh, standing outside her apartment in one of his best suits with a bouquet of flowers that matched her dress. It had been a simple act to find out what color the dress was and find flowers that matched.

While he waited for her part of his mind was busy tracking what Iron Man was doing. It was important that the citizens of the City were well protected and therefore Iron Man needed to patrol constantly. It wasn't that difficult though, multitasking was simple for him now, Tosh wouldn't even know he was busy doing something else other than she was aware that he almost always was.

"You know, I will never get tired of seeing you stand there in a gorgeous suit holding a bouquet of flowers," Tosh remarked as she opened the door. Tony always looked handsome, of course, but there always seemed to be a little extra something special about 'date nights'. "I'll get a vase, and then we can go."

She was only gone to the kitchen a moment, returning quickly to rejoin Tony, one of the flowers from the bouquet stuck into the clip holding back her hair.

"Good, because I plan on doing it quite a bit," he told her, leaning forward to give her a quick kiss.

When she came back out he smiled even more and ran his eyes along her body. His look was appreciative with a hint of... lust. Maybe not as classy as some but he thought it would be ridiculous to hide how good looking he thought Tosh looked.

"You look gorgeous, Toshiko," he told her as he opened the car door for her.

"Then I plan on enjoying it quite a bit," Tosh replied, with a smile and maybe just a hint of a blush for the look he gave her. "Thank you," she added, as she got into the car."

Settling back against the seat, she sighed contentedly. It was, in some ways, like she'd never left.

"I noticed you'd been busy today. Keeping the streets safe?"

"Of course Tosh," he told her as he closed the door and then got in the driver's seat, the car slowly rising off the ground as it headed towards Lux.

"The citizens deserve the best protection they can get," Tony told her. "I can't afford to rest."

"You don't think your announcement was a little over the top today?" she asked, glancing sideways at him. Maybe that was how Iron Man did things back in his world, Tosh didn't know. But she thought maybe Tony seemed a little more...zealous than usual.

"We are lucky to have you here, you know. And I guess the way you can control the suit even when you're not in it, we get two superheroes for the price of one, don't we?"

"No," Tony said without hesitation. "The good people need to know that there's someone out there who is going to protect them and the criminals need to know that there's a price to pay for what they do."

His jaw was hard set for a moment as he thought about it. This was his City now, there was no way he was going to let crime run rampant. His face relaxed and he smiled over at Tosh. He wouldn't let anything happen to someone like her.

"And Tony Stark is hardly a superhero."

Tosh eyed his for a moment, a little surprised at the vehemence. But this wasn't really the time to be talking shop, not like that. She wanted a pleasant evening out with him, not an argument over policing methods.

She did smile at his last remark, though. "Oh, I think in some ways he is," she answered softly.

Tony chuckled a bit and glanced over at Tosh, smiling a bit more at what she said. She was always so encouraging and understanding of his work. He was really lucky to have her.

"And in what ways would I be a superhero?" he asked, arching an eyebrow.

"You see a problem and you find a way to sort it out," Tosh replied. "You care about people and you want to make the world a better place, and you use the means you have available to you -- your intelligence, your skills, your money -- to achieve that. All of that makes you a hero."

She tilted her head and smiled again, then leaned across the seat and kissed Tony's cheek. "The fact that you've got a computer for a brain and a fancy flying metal suit makes you a superhero."

"Well thank you," was all Tony could think to say. People rarely, if ever, complimented him like that back home. Not that he needed it but it was nice to hear, especially coming from her.

"So I guess that makes you a hero too then," he added as the car settled down outside of the Lux. "Just a few super powers and a skin tight costume and you can be a super one."

"I think I'm more the genius sidekick type," Tosh laughed. "But how come you get the big kickass suit of armor and I have to have the skintight costume?"

She was teasing, of course. Tosh knew perfectly well why he suggested that as a costume. When the car set down, she took a second to check her hair and waited for Tony to open her door. Because that seemed to be the sort of thing he probably planned to do. And because, to be honest, she kind of liked the little gentlemanly touches he lent to things when they were out together.

"Who says I don't have one all ready for you and have just been waiting for you to ask?" Tony said, arching an eyebrow.

With a chuckle he got out of the car and opened the door for her, offering her his arm. She really did look amazing in that dress. When she wanted to Tosh could to fancy very well.

Tosh looked a little taken aback at the idea, and then laughed. "Watch it, you'll be sorry if I start expecting you to make good on that. Though I don't know if that's really my thing. Too showy."

Taking his arm, she smiled up at him. This was something she could really get used to. "I love going out with you."

"Come on, you know deep down you want to fly around in a skin tight outfit with bright colors," he joked, giving her a wink as they made their way inside.

"I love going out with you too, Tosh. It's a lot of fun."

Tosh just looked at him. Because she really really didn't. Although the wink made her grin.

"Good. You do anything I should know about while I was gone?" she asked, teasingly. George had told her that'd been moping, which Tosh had to admit had kind of made her happy, although she had no expectations of Tony sitting at home and pining for her. In fact, she'd have probably scolded him for it.

"I mostly just threw myself into projects," he said, which was the truth. Tony had honestly missed Tosh when she left and had been a bit down about it. It was not the first time in his life that he had lost someone though.

"Nothing scandalous though, I'm sorry."

"I'm not pulling you away from anything you really should be working on, I hope," Tosh replied, knowing how it was when you had a project going, only to be dragged away in the middle of it.

She tucked her arm a little more snugly around his. "I'm not sure if I'm glad to hear that or sorry to hear it. You strike me as the type who needs to be scandalous once in a while."

"Who said I'm not working on projects right now?" he asked, arching an eyebrow as they were led to their table for the evening.

"I do need to be scandalous every once in a while," Tony concurred. "But my rooftop sex partner was out of town so I didn't have a lot of options."

"Oh, you probably are, aren't you?" Tosh laughed. She knew better than to think any single thing could command all of Tony's attention.

She sat down and promptly laughed again, covering her face with her hand. "God, don't say that where anyone can hear you. The jokes about the curse from the other day are bad enough."

"Oh? What jokes are these?" he asked, leaning forward to take her hand. A mischievous grin played on his lips as he stared expectantly into her eyes. This should be interesting.

Oh, that was so not playing fair. Holding her hand and looking into her eyes? Did Tony have any idea how much he could get her to tell him by doing that?

"Just Dawn calling me 'princess' a lot and Jack teasing about arranged marriages calling me his 'precious petal of the desert'. Things like that."

"So let me get this straight," Tony said, now leaning back in his chair a bit as he looked at Tosh quizzically.

"It's not good to call you princess or precious petal of the desert or things like that? Because that's what I'm getting out of this conversation."

Tosh frowned. "It's all in the context, Tony. Dawn's doing it because it's funny to tease about how I was cursed and acting silly. And Jack's doing it because he knows that there's no way in a million years he would ever call me something like that. Someone like you doing it would be completely different."

"Well, precious petal of the desert might be a bit too flowery for me," he told her with a playful wink. "But it's good to know that compliments are welcome. It would be hard to tell you how amazing you look without them."
