Summary; An overnight stay at the beach
Log;
Jack had gotten them the same room as last time, after all why mess with what works and it was a beautiful room, right on the beach.
This time he'd also gotten fresh cherries and other summer fruits delivered to the room to go with the bottle of champagne that sat chilling in a silver bucket. There was sparkling water for Jack himself. Though the room was being kept cool by air conditioning during the heat of the day it still carried the scent of 'ocean and sand' and Jack took a deep breath as he pushed open the door and stepped on through.
"Oh this is nice," he said, giving Ianto a rakish smile.
After all, sand and ocean were now two of his favorite scents after a certain night down on the sand!

He was very pleased that it was the same room as before, after all, it had been a beautiful room! Jack had proven yet again that he could be very thoughtful with these kind of things, and Ianto grinned at him.
"You really do have the best ideas," he said, setting his bag down at the end of the bed.

As it was in this case!
Taking the bags and setting them down close to the bathroom, he walked back into the room, snagged himself a cherry and fell back on the bed with a deep sigh of contentment.
"What do you think, Ianto. I could see about building the mini-hub down here in a giant beach house facility."
He was probably joking.
...
Maybe.
no subject
"The mini-hub near the beach, hm?" he asked smoothing his hand over the bed quilt, admiring how it felt, "I fear I'd never get anything done if that was the case."
Well maybe. Very little could persuade him away when he got it into his head that the place needed cleaning.
no subject
"But it would be nice, wouldn't it?"
Jack might have missed having a 'home' by the water so to speak. After all, the Hub had been right next to the bay and in a good location for a nice mind clearing walk if he'd needed one.

"It would be very nice. I wouldn't complain really if we did relocate."
The mini-hub was familiar, yes, but still.

"So, Jones Ianto Jones, what would you like to do with your whole night off?" He asked, turning on his side and smiling at the younger man.
Perhaps he should have had 'plans' like he had the last time but he didn't want Ianto to think they should only go away together when there were 'plans'. Sometimes it was just nice to be together.

But it was nice to be away, just the two of them and not have to do anything, so Ianto leant back, supporting himself with his hands.

Yes, he'd just said checkers. Not chess, not strip poker, checkers. A game that Jack had played many a night while in the trenches of WWI.

He still looked a little confused, although he was grinning. If that's what Jack wanted to do...
[ooc: Yup, that's what we call it this side of the pond!]

[ooc: Ahhh the language span of the giant puddle! ;D]

...it had been one time and he'd been half asleep.
"All right, if you want to," Ianto said with a grin, kicking off his shoes and putting them tidily under the bed so he could sit with his feet up.

Grinning, Jack jumped up and went to rumage in a cupboard. He'd happened upon a small stash of games in the room when they'd been here the last time and he crowed with delight as he found the checkers.
"Got em!"
Surfacing, Jack took a moment to get out of his boots before he carried the board and bag of checkers over to the bed.
"Want some champagne while we play?"
no subject
Ianto sat on the bed, legs crossed as he waited for Jack to retrieve the game for the both of them. After all, Ianto hadn't had the chance to explore the room very much before.
"It's been a long time since I played this," Ianto admitted as Jack game back with the board and pieces, and waited for him to set it up.
"Are you going to have some too?"
no subject
"I have some sparkling water," Jack said with a grin and he went to prepare two glasses, champagne for Ianto and sparkling water for himself.
Coming back to the bed, he handed Ianto his glass and then reached for a black and a red checker. Shaking them up in his cupped palms, he grabbed one each in a fist and held it out towards Ianto for the younger man to chose his fate!

Considering Jack very rarely drank, that was enough for Ianto, so he accepted his glass with a gracious thank you.
Pretending to give it great consideration, as though it was to be one of the greatest decisions of his life, Ianto tapped Jack's left hand.

Jack opened his palm to reveal a red checker and he grinned.
"Red, very much your color," he teased. Oh for that UNIT cap!
no subject
"Haven't you noticed that I wear it more often, as of late?" He did too, shirts ranging from plum to cranberry, red detail on his ties and sometimes red lining in his jackets.
He missed the UNIT cap, too. It was a shame they couldn't get another one...
