Summary; Kabuto gets Deidara unstuck
Log;
Kabuto was wrapped in a thick winter coat, with mittens, ear muffs, snow boots, and a thermos of hot water. He was set to face the world outside of his apartment.
Kabuto hated the cold.
Shivering, despite all of his layers of clothing, he made his way to the balcony of his neighbor, Deidara, who had gotten his tongue stuck to the metal of the railing. Even five year olds knew better than to do what the Akatsuki had done. And for crying out loud, the ninja was from IWA. In the NORTH. Really, was the ninja raised under a rock?
"Deidara san, are you okay?" He asked when he came up to the Akatsuki memeber; that coat must be warm for that to be his only additional protection against the cold. "I brought the water." It was everything he could do to keep his teeth from chattering.
Deidara's eyes turned upward, as much as he truly could, watching the other man approach from within his periphreal vision. His tongue wiggled slightly against the railing, as he moved his head a little, to get a better view of his danna's former servant. He raised a hand in greeting, eyes shutting in a smile that barely worked, due to the circumstances.
"Aaathuuu, Kaaautoe. Shaynkkuuor ummeeng." (Translation="Ossu, Kabuto. Thank you for coming.") He shivered a little, as the wind traced transparent hands into his robes and embraced him against its subzero form.
Kabuto nodded, unscrewing the top from the thermos. He walked over, examining the damage, it wasn't too bad, he hadn't tried to pull away on his own. Slowly, he poured the hot but quickly cooling water over where Deidara's tongue was stuck, watching as it seperated from the metal.
He replaced the top on the thermos, "What were you thinking Deidara san?"
Deidara clicked his tongue a bit, sliding it around in his mouth, as if having it was a new sensation, like his body had forgotten it had ever existed. The mednin's question had finally reached the front of the thought queue in Deidara's mind, after the random bunch of "My tongue feels strange, Yay it's free un, and I'm still very cold, and the tip of my tongue is numb, un" thoughts had finally dissipated. He cocked his head to the side, expression melting into one of thoughtfulness, finger coming up to rest on the side of his chin.
"Well, it was warm yesterday, un.. and sunny. Then, I wake up this morning to freezing temperature, and snow, un. I began to think about the ways of this world.." He began to pace back and forth, like a man wrought with a genius' inspiration deciphering a theorum that would change life as it was currently known. "And came to a conclusion, as I watched the snow collect upon my balcony." His head shot up at this, as his expression changed to one of almost Nirvanic enlightenment, one hand balling into a fist, and hitting the other one within the palm. "This snow.. had to be magical in some way. I wanted to find out how it worked.. and what it could do. And, after many other tests with it, I decided to try and lick it." He closed his eyes, folding his arms, nodding, expression now one of certainty.
Kabuto shook his head, supressing a sigh. How this man got into the Akatsuki was beyond him. "If you say so Deidara san, but now you know it works like regular snow. If you get into any more trouble, like frostbite, you can come to me and I'll see what I can do. But I'm going back to my apartment, and wrapping up in blankets while sitting next to the heater until it warms up again." Kabuto waved and turned to go.
Deidara smiled at the other man, walking up and after him, with a small nod as his brain processed the offer. His smile grew into a grin as another thought struck him. He tapped Kabuto on the back, causing him to stop and turn around.
"I have something to give you, to express my gratitude, un." He held up a hand in a 'wait just a moment' gesture, as he ducked into a closet in the room, rummaging through a few things before he stopped upon something, and extricated himself from the environs. He held up what he was trying to find in one hand, showing it to the other man. It was a lump of clay, that he was sure the other man knew what he used for. The tongue from the mouth within his palm slid its form around the amorphous glob, sucking it down ravenously. His hand moved strangely for a moment, as the artist slid his other hand over it. When he moved his hand away, a small clay lotus sat in the middle of his hand. He walked over, and held it out to Kabuto. "For you, un."
Kabuto raised an eyebrow at the art. He knew what it would do. "Uh, thank you, but can you make it be art over that way." He pointed to a snow bank a little way off, he knew what the clay would do after seeing the pie incident.
Deidara nodded, walking out upon the balcony, and gently laying the flower upon the snow bank. He stepped back, beside Kabuto, not turning to him, his focus completely on the earthen flora before him. He brought his hands together in a seal, watching, expression becoming serious.
'Kai.'
The word he uttered almost seemed unspoken, as it fluidly dripped from his lips into the air. As if on cue, the flower caught fire at all of its ends, the tiny flames licking into the snow-littered space, melting any ice that had the misfortune of coming close to them. As the petals burnt down, the flames came close to convergence upon the center. Deidara's eyes began to alight brighter and brighter with every second that passed, every moment closer to the meeting. As the flames hit the center, a small bang was heard, as the snow around it blew into five directions, as a deep red explosion fluttered from the center, casting a lurid glow upon the white canvas around it, bright, and thick as fresh blood.
Quietly, and solemly, Deidara whispered in the resounding silence after the explosion, watching as the embers softly died. "Art. Did you enjoy it..?"
Shivering, Kabuto nodded, it really had been pretty. "Y..yes it was beautiful." Kabuto was really cold. "T..thank you for showing me that, n..now I really need to get inside though." With a final wave, Kabuto left.
