Who: Remy LeBeau and Cecilia Reyes
When: Tuesday September 16 2008 (forward dated slightly)
What: Remy and Cecilia’s smarmy dinner.
Remy hadn’t been kidding when he’d promised somewhere nice. Cecilia felt positively underdressed in her best outfit – and before they’d gotten seated she’d been mistaken for a hostess – the menu didn’t have prices on it, and a lot of the entrée descriptions were in a foreign language. Cecilia was guessing Thai but she couldn’t tell the difference between Japanese and Chinese unless someone handed her a language primer and gave her a week to study it.
She did have to wonder what Remy was up to that he could afford this kind of place. But after a few moments of serious consideration she decided that she was probably better off not asking, and wouldn’t get a straight answer even if she did.
“This better be the best damn appetizer in my life if they’re too ashamed of the price to put it on here.” Cecilia hadn’t wanted to strain Remy’s pocket, but she had no idea whether she would or not with this set up.
