This was too much. Not that Clow would have been terribly pleased here and now under the best of circumstances, but in this particular case he was barely able to think or function rationally. The past few days had conspired to leave him quite emotionally stricken if not mentally taxed. He hadn't even considered his strategy for this particular duel, nor did he wish to. Not that it mattered; he was fairly certain he didn't want to win.

For months and months, Clow had just wanted to see Yue again. Now he finally would, but... it was all wrong. So, he waited, staring straight ahead with his face blank as a mask.

The arrival of the winged being was inconspicuous, yet far from unnoticeable. Yue had that air about him. Landing softly, he folded his wings and gazed at the distance between him and the other man.

"....Clow."

"Yue." Clow's expression softened just a bit at the sight of him and he found himself unconsciously walking slowly closer. "Good morning."

Though he kept a calm disposition, Yue's thoughts were racing. Being able to see his old master in his physical body.... oh, how he looked the same from before.

Unable to string any coherent words together, he simply looked slightly to the ground.

Clow stopped just short of the place on the ground where Yue was looking, aware of his apprehension. Why shouldn't Yue be nervous? He must not remember anything from when he was last here, and this would be their first real meeting. Ideally, they would be in private so that they could say some things that needed to be said, but what those things were Clow could not begin to think at this moment.

"Pay the crowd no mind," he advised - sure, they'd need to fight eventually, but if there was something that needed to happen first then it should be allowed to happen.

Yue had given up on the wish to see his old master again, but this.... this changed everything. It felt like he had gone completely back in time and everything was alright again.... Back to the way it should be.

Casting his glance up to Clow, the being kept himself calm and completely void of expression.

"....It's been a while."

"It has." Now it was Clow's turn to look at the ground (and off to the side), as if avoiding Yue's gaze. It took him too long to decide whether or not to say anything more. It might be better for Yue if Clow didn't bring his own feelings into this, if he remained distant and impassive. Then again, he didn't want to alienate the Moon Guardian into thinking that he never cared.

And he wanted to say something.

"... I've missed you," he uttered softly, at long last. He missed everyone, certainly, but there was not a single week that he didn't go down to the Hall of the Missing at least twice just to see Yue's picture. Cerberus's, too, but... missing Cerberus was like missing an old friend; full of hope even if there isn't much chance of seeing them again. Missing Yue was just painful.

It took only a moment for all of the memories to come flooding back. It had been so long. Oh, so long.

Yue flinched mentally, though not a trace of his thoughts could be read. This was Clow. It was okay to show his gratitude. "....Likewise."

A small smile tugged at the corners of his lips, though Yue refused to let it fully reveal itself.

Clow looked up, briefly, returned the smile, and hesitated again. There was a lot that he wanted to say, but very little of it could be put into words and the crowd was getting restless. Not that he cared about the crowd much, but it did factor a bit into his awkwardness.

"I'm sorry I left." It's hard to tell with Yue but Clow, at least, is still painfully aware that this changes nothing. In fact, perhaps it makes everything worse.

More than anything, he didnt' want this. Out of everyone here, why Clow? Yue just wanted to talk to the man again. He simply wished to be with him, to spend time with him once more. It had been far too long....

The words reached his ears, yes, yet did not elicit a visible reaction.

Clow sighed and closed his eyes as if trying to drown out the sight and sound of the Stadium. The noise was starting to get to him and he wanted only to talk to Yue, to maybe... touch him - but somewhere private, without all these people and their eyes, their minds, their futures, and their mouths. He did not ask of himself any of the questions that Yue did, as he felt he already knew the answers: it was interesting to some higher, omnipresent entity although he could not be certain who or what.

"There is only one way out of here," he said softly, thinking out loud. And it was true, but he wasn't certain if he could attack Yue or convince him to reciprocate. Perhaps if he made him angry... but, oh, if Clow had wanted to do that he should have thought about that earlier. He would have said all of the opposite things that he did, and even then, he admitted to himself, they more likely would have hurt Yue rather than goaded him into attacking. Going through several strategies and scenarios in quick succession in his head, he realized that he could live with hurting Yue a little if it were for his own good.

But only a little.

After a few moments, his decision was made. Clow took a few steps closer and leaned to whisper in his ear, "We can fight to first blood. It can be a draw."

Clow probably knew more than anyone that Yue had absolutely no desire to battle.

He froze as the man came closer, giving a silent nod of approval.
