[Blue was waiting at one of the tables of the Blue Light, in sight of the bar but far enough away as to not be overheard by the bartender. Sometimes people needed a little bit of privacy, and he was waiting for Peter.]

[Peter's there, and after spotting Blue, heads on over.]

I hope I haven't kept you waiting.

Even if you had, it's considered rude to point that out to a king.

[He says that with just a touch of humor in his voice. He offers him a glass of water]

You've been busy recently, haven't you?

I'd like to think I'm more approachable than that.

[Accepts it gratefully!]

More than usual. There was preparation for Susan's birthday, along with other things.

Well, you are. Back home, anyway, we used to play poker. You liked to bet high.

Well. The Fable version, anyway.

[He nods]

Did you arrange a job?

It's been a while since I've played poker, actually. Edmund prefers chess. We should have a game together, if you'd like.

[Tapping the side of his glass.]

Not recently. I haven't found anything to my liking.

We could invite Caspian, if you like.

[He watches]

What ails you, your majesty?

We'd have to teach him the rules, most likely.

[Oh, what to tell.]

You've seen the Witch Witch around, haven't you? She calls herself the Queen of Narnia, but she's far from the title.

I'm sure the Telmarines had some form of Poker. They were brigands, once.

[Pause]

Yes. I saw her. Jadis, right?

[He shifts a bit]

I have some unresolved issues with Snow Queens. One in particular, but not yours. Is she giving you trouble?

She hasn't caused any trouble recently, but I'm certain she's planning something. I'm sure she's using the time to consolidate her power.

There's more than one in your world?

Do you want me to look into it, Peter?

There are two - Jadis, but I never met her, and Lumi...do you know the story, the Snow Queen?

I don't want to get other people involved with our problems, but I'd be foolish to refuse help. Perhaps not now, but I'll be sure to keep your offer in mind.

Did you fight her personally?

I heard you reclaimed the Homelands after you went back. I don't think I've properly congratulated you yet.

[He rubs his right arm]

It was all of us. And I did fight her personally, but that was many years ago.

[Blink.]

Did you injure your right arm?

Oh, an arrow went through it. Back in the war.

[He pauses]

How's your family?

It hasn't fully recovered yet?

[Thinking.]

Susan's birthday just passed, so spirits are high. We've had relatively few problems recently. It's been quiet.

[Still tapping that glass.]

It's nothing.

[lies]

Peter, you're not happy. Something's bothering you.

Are you sure? It doesn't look that way.

[Calling out Blue's lie as a distraction for his.]

[Staredown]

....I'll tell if you do.

[Stare. Oh gaw, Blue's a close enough friend.]

It's a personal matter, really. It's an issue I keep putting off.

Well, it started when Susan told Caspian that she fancied him. Caspian told her he didn't feel exactly the same way, and it really hurt Susan's feelings. She's never had that sort of situation before, and it complicated things.

[It's like an episode of Gossip Girl.]

It's usually Susan that turned down her suitors.

And it's complicated because....Caspian fancies someone else?

It'd be a betrayal towards Susan.
